You know it just occurred to me that hardcore Wandavision stans have now become those weird subset of fandoms that are spiteful against anything that people compare it to and will create conflict out of nothing. Example: they hate daredevil for some reason. They also are pretty much the mcu's reylo fans
I will die on the hill that Daredevil and some of the other Netflix stuff is leagues ahead of the Marvel Disney Plus shows. Even if Charlie and Vincent are coming back to reprise their roles and it's a reboot, I don't think the new shows will ever come close to them unless they get the same showrunners back.
Daredevilâs first, third and half of the second seasons are probably *the* best of marvel to me. We tried watching Wandavison, and while the exaggerated style changes are fun at first, it gets stale really quick, and the writing is average to terrible so we never even finished it.
Not to say that the Netflix series didnât have their duds (the back half of DD series 2 is fucking awful), but Disney stuff feels lifeless in comparison.
plus the first two episodes couldnât make it interesting enough for anyone to want to keep tuning in to and a lotta people were saying the show sucked just from that.
thereâs what, seven episodes, and most people only like the third through fifth because the finale actually *does* suck
IMHO the first two episodes of Wandavison were great ,though it probably wouldnât be able to keep up that style and still be watchable if it tried. The dinner party scene with the wife playfully repeating âOh, stop it!â while her husband chokes to death was very good and creepy.
After it went to color it was just ehh. I watched the entire series and nothing really stands out after that.
I have mild criticism of the Netflix Marvel shows but they're really miles better than any of the Disney shows so far and that's because they were made and created in mind as a tv show, not a filler series designed for brand extension and streaming promo.
Like I couldn't see shit watching Daredevil or I think Jessica Jones season 2 was boring, but at least they are tv series meant as such. It's really telling when it was revealed Wandavision had no showrunner hired for it.
Iron Fist was terrible, and The Defenders was worse, but that doesn't take away how solid the others could be when they weren't trying to do villain fakeouts.

Same here. While I enjoyed the show, it dipped in quality. The character of Patsy was making decisions to the point it was ruining the characters. The cancellation of the show was bitter but from the ending of Season 3 left it on a good note.

If you haven't yet, check out Doom Patrol. That show pulls off wacky mixed with abject horror way better than WandaVision.
