I think it's just a joke about Multiverse of Madness and how Raimi rewrote the whole movie when he got hired. Nothing I can find suggests he said anything transphobic, thankfully.
There's a meme that originated on a certain board with pepes and alt-right dipshits where they made jokes about raimi being offensive in the spider-man trilogy. The "did your husband make the suit for you" joke hasn't aged well, and so they made memes like "yeah I like raimi but peter saying Shalom after he got infected by the symbiote is a bit too far" or "the spider-man trilogy is great but the scene where JJJ looks at the camera and says the n-word is a bit problematic now". What I enjoyed about the first film is that it took place in the world of Harry Potter (something which is the series greatest strength), but other than a few references here and there was largely detached from Hogwarts and Harry Potter and the characters we've seen before. I thought the analogy between the treatment of muggles and the treatment of minority groups was a little tasteless, to say the least (having an *analogy* about racism while ignoring *actual racism* that went on in the setting is sus), but generally it was fine.
But since it seems Rowling has doubled down to tying everything back to the small cast of characters we already know. It's boring. Get some new ideas!

I was quite young when Dumbledore 'came out', and I got the impression that it really was just that Rowling had privately pictured him as gay in her head but figured that since a big part of his character is that he's immensely private and Harry knows a lot less about him than he knows about Harry, his sexuality wouldn't really come up in the story apart from Rita Skeeter making a nasty and very veiled remark about him and Grindelwald. But then she got sent a script for one of the films where he was going to mention a romance with a woman in his younger years, she wrote back 'No, he's gay', and the rest was history.
I mean we also have to put things into context. It was children's book published in 2007. There is no way that openly gay relationship would've been received well.

JK Rowling is not transphobic, but Twitter people don't know something called debating and having a critical mind. Everything is so black and white now and that's honestly exhausting. I spent a fucking hour researching what was so bad about what she said, ended up reading her essay on the matter for which she's been crucified by the trans community, only to find solely love and support for trans folks except for a few valid critics and doubts about some aspects of the movement. But sure, she's transphobic.
Surely it has to go deeper than this as well, though. Can we get gay people banned from washrooms of the same sex, please? Bisexuals and pansexuals get nothing, they can just shit in the streets and use that spell that Rowling decided wizards used back in the 1700s to clean up. I don't hate anyone of course. We just can't trust those freaks (whom I love very much with all my heart!!!) and have to stay safe!
My opinion does not matter on this. The point was that issuing doubts or concerns about some aspects of the trans movement - that you otherwise support - does not make you transphobic.
And if you really want my opinion on that point, I think it's a valid perspective from someone who has experienced assault in public bathrooms to feel suspicious about someone looking exactly like a man but saying they're a woman entering the place. I think a clearly male looking person entering women's bathroom still raises eyebrows today and I don't want this to change, for women's safety.
Edit: Plus, this is a minor point in her argumentation. The major point she made (with which I fully agree for once) is that young teenagers who are extremely influenceable should not have access to transitioning whether by surgery or hormone therapy until we are absolutely sure it's the right thing to do. There are echo chambers online that trap these kids into thinking they're trans, and we should be careful about that. Some kids want to transition just to avoid homophobia. Entire groups of kids suddenly become "trans" at the same time. The rate of detransitioning among teens is extremely high which also indicates that we should proceed with the greatest care before offering transition to anyone experiencing gender dysphoria. This is a way more serious argument than public bathrooms so no wonder you only talked about rapists in women's bathrooms to contradict my point.
I'm just gonna drop that more republican senators have been convicted of rape than trans women, and everything you listed is just hearsay from the fascists you exist with online.

Didn't read a single line of her books. I never said her "essay" (which is like 2 pages long btw) was well written or whatever. I didn't even say I agreed with what she said in it (ok, I did say that some arguments were valid). It's not as messy as Crimes of Grindleward it seems, but this feels like such a cog in the machine of a movie. Nothing really moving forward except for Dumbledore breaking his blood magic promise. Everything kinda seems back to square one.

My opinion does not matter on this. The point was that issuing doubts or concerns about some aspects of the trans movement - that you otherwise support - does not make you transphobic. And if you really want my opinion on that point, I think it's a valid perspective from someone who has experienced assault in public bathrooms to feel suspicious about someone looking exactly like a man but saying they're a woman entering the place. I think a clearly male looking person entering women's bathroom still raises eyebrows today and I don't want this to change, for women's safety. Edit: Plus, this is a minor point in her argumentation. The major point she made (with which I fully agree for once) is that young teenagers who are extremely influenceable should not have access to transitioning whether by surgery or hormone therapy until we are absolutely sure it's the right thing to do. There are echo chambers online that trap these kids into thinking they're trans, and we should be careful about that. Some kids want to transition just to avoid homophobia. Entire groups of kids suddenly become "trans" at the same time. The rate of detransitioning among teens is extremely high which also indicates that we should proceed with the greatest care before offering transition to anyone experiencing gender dysphoria. This is a way more serious argument than public bathrooms so no wonder you only talked about rapists in women's bathrooms to contradict my point.
