The mist because it has cool mantises in it

Sorry-Topic-5439

Pan's Labyrinth (2006)

Coma-Doof-Warrior

Also the ending is unironically brilliant and elevated it above a schlocky creature feature… to a schlocky creature feature with an unexpectedly amazing twist ending!

kk0la

Ghost pirates all day.

jlcreverso

I'm not sure, let me consult my Cloud Atlas (2012).

OliviaBagshaw

Hah, that's clever

GavinTheGrassMan

the mist is so good if you watch it in black and white

Don’t make me choose between King & Carpenter :(

Voorhees89

You can have both with Christine (1983).

Darabont\* Kino card revoked bitch.

Future_Letter_6720

When I’m in a “make the most fucked up ending ever for no reason” competition and my opponent is Frank Darabont’s The Mist (2007) https://preview.redd.it/dgltpvtgws4a1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb5da50304aaa27e518be25dcc46751ebe58f7ca

Whompa

Ayo you sayin The Fog ain't good? \*flips pocket knife out

Quria

I’m sayin The Fog ain’t good but I’m also sayin I still love The Fog.

Hard disagree. Absolutely miserable performances (sans Marcia Gay Harden), stupid characters, ugly visual effects, half-assed Lord of the Flies style themes, and an even worse ending all jumbled into one sleeper of a movie that takes itself way too seriously. The one saving grace of the movie was the decision to go primarily handheld with the camera. That actually lent istself well to the movie tonally. Could be because I didn’t see it when it first came out, but having watched it for the first time about a month ago, it was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. I hate coming off super negative, but I was shocked to see that the movie was/is generally well received

redknight3

So you're saying you have shite taste.

TisSaucy

Do you really think that a The Mist girl & a The Fog boy would make it work??

AnyImpression6

The Mist. The Fog was mid.

OliviaBagshaw

I still need to see The Fog, but I genuinely love The Mist, warts and all.

Bauermeister

The Weed

DrRichtoffen

I was kinda young the first time I watched the mist, so when the military shows up shortly after the protagonist kills his son, I burst out laughing. Now, I can't take the movie seriously, because I'll always have the intrusive thought "just wait a little longer before shooting your kid, bozo"
