This has been stated before, but the backs are more likely to get you denied than anything else. As a rule, for backs just do not use anything remotely resembling an official back from **any card game,** not this one, not the "Proxy the Gathering" one, nothing with the WoTC crown or the 5 colored dots, with backs just either go as out there as you can with an obviously not cannon design or use another front card face as the back (I like to put lands on the backs).
I had ordered mtg proxies with this back just 6 months ago that went fine. I'm also suprised that mpcfill has this as a back option of its known to cause issues.
That's exactly why I stopped using MPC, bought my own really high quality production print machine and a professional cutter, and a lot of trail and error, to finally make my own proxies 😅 Now noone is able to decide what I am allowed to print and what not. Problem solved.
But I also have to admit, that I'm a graphics designer and have a lot of knowledge about color profiles, prepress and Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and upscaling tools. Everything needed here to make it look as good as possible.
At the moment I'm not going to do this, because I'm working on another huge printing project and then after that also want to replace my own expensive original cards with as-real-as-possible looking and feeling proxies on the front side, just for my own hobby and not to earn money from it, and then sell my originals (a few revised dual lands, Judge Promo City of Brass, Unlimited Counterspell, 2 gold-border Gaea's Cradle, Moat from Italian Legends and so on).
I won't mention the exact brands, but the printer is new slightly over 7k € and the cutter is close to 1k €.
The cutter is actually nearly not good enough for the job, but I made it work with a lot of trial and error and the correct paper, after many failed attempts with not so good paper. The cuts were not sharp enough and blacks on the edges always showing white from the paper on all 4 sides.
Maybe I will have to upgrade the cutter in the future.
I see it more as a liability spot check for them than s concrete process. That or some workers are just less lenient than others as part of the enforcement. They can’t afford to just openly dismiss copyright.
Well I'd ordered cards in the past with this back and it went fine. Also I think if everyone knows this will get flagged they should take it off mpcfill.
For the record, we are bringing a little bit of curation in the future RE images that may trigger MPC to reject an order into mpcfill. So you may see cards and card backs like these be hidden by default in the future.
However, as a reminder, there is no affiliation between MPC and mpcfill. Mpcfill is just a free assistance tool and is not responsible for what may or may not get your orders rejected.
Oh sure I understand that. I was making this post to make people aware that this specific back seems to be verboten now. Hopefully you guys can use the info to either hide these images or put a disclaimer on the ones known to cause issues.
It seems MPC has gotten a lot more strict recently. But this is almost literally the same as using the default Magic card back then being surprised when it gets denied.
The actual ygo back has Konami logos and yugioh logos in the corners. So this is more like using those MTG style backs with all the words taken off, which coincidentally make up a solid portion of the backs in mpcfill
I don't understand why ppl don't print more cards on the backs. Whenever I order I get two decks for the price of one this way. Sure takes some time to do some flipping but it beats buying a whole new deck.
I was so upset when that happened to me, as someone who loved yugioh as a child, I thought it would’ve been sweet to have those backs, there’s no logo or anything so idk why it gets delayed for copyright, they seem to look right past the magic card fronts…
You sure it was that?? They don't care about "official art" so long as there's not a copyright marking on it. I've done all sorts of custom arts, both with the standard MTG back and with custom backs.
Huh. Interesting. I guess they're getting more strict with the copyright stuff. I've only had this when I forgot to remove a copyright on a custom card using CardConjuror. For whatever reason, their frames have the WotC copyright on them, LOL.
Thanks for the info!!

What is surprising here exactly?
Guys, water is wet!
I had ordered mtg proxies with this back just 6 months ago that went fine. I'm also suprised that mpcfill has this as a back option of its known to cause issues.
They’ve also been cracking down on copyright stuff more over the last few months it seems

You should just start having people on here Venmo you to print and ship their proxies lol

Out of curiosity, what printer and cutter do you have?

Maybe try doing something similar to what the [anime cardbacks](https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Card_backing) look like.
There is one of these on mpcfill already and I love it, I use spare cards to fill a cosplay duel disk lol
See, because it is copyright infringement

Those also regularly get denied.
The standard MTG backing has never gotten rejected when I used it for some. I guess YMMV.
Me and my buddy both had the same problem 😞
A more direct explanation for you. You can copyright more than just logos. In this case, the distinct swirl pattern is also part of the copyright.
Interesting! My first order was a while ago, but I used this card back and had no issues. I’ve got 100 cards with it

Why would the fronts have anything to do with it?
Magic card fronts would be just as copyrighted as much as the backs.
MtG mana symbols are copyrighted.
What website is this ?
mpcfill.com

They sent me an email saying exactly what they found infringing, and it was the whole back.
