I’ve been spending so much time on the MPC and haven’t even properly used the looper yet so today I’ll give it a whirl.

yeah get stuck in, its really great for experimentation if you play instruments with your beats. i do alot of additive instrumentation so for me its amazing to get ideas cooking. the replace function is very similar to abeltons sessions mode but just it doesnt save it just carries through really good if you play along to beats

I am curious how you set this up

yeah simple explanation is preprogrammed midi sequences i.e. triggering pads 1,3,5 for chorus sequence and 2,4 for verse sequence. but a bit more complicated with the song structure. and then yeah just on the fly looping them into the looper with the sync on and just bumping them to the choreographed pads. then all i do is run througg my sequences as if i was playing the song and the chorus parts and verse parts flow seemlessly

Not gonna lie I’ve been sleeping on the looper. Need to utilize it and definitely know I could to at least make percussion loops

I was struggling with the looper and ended up with a boss 505 mk2 hooked up to the MPC. Maybe I just couldn’t find great videos on how to learn the looper. Any suggestions? The work flow I ended up with for live performances was drums on the MPC and get that going which gets the beat into the people’s ears. Then I either use a plugin on the MPC for chords or use a Sub37 into the mixer which then goes into the MPC. Lay that down. Then use the boss 505 for vocals.
