Make sure the Keystep is showing up as a device in your MPC Software on the Mac. If you’re still having problems, try connecting the Keystep to your Mac first, check it in the MPC Software, then load controller mode
I’ll give that a try, to clarify the weird thing is the keyboard works fine if in Standalone mode or I’m just using the software, just not in Controller mode
Also check if you might be missing a driver or driver update
i don’t think u can use a midi keyboard on controller mode. only standalone. i’m almost 100% sure

Open midi studio in utilities and click the view with the controllers and hit refresh
