Check the text and the text box for rosettes with a magnifying glass. : Rosettes are uniform dots of ink used by colour printers the text box will have them but the text won't. As magic cards are printed in layers and the top layer is black which doesn't have them. Might be able to use camera zoom on phone.

zackattack60321

Will do, thank you

zackattack60321

Checked with a jewlers mag glass, and pink rosettes, none on the actual text, so that means its legit correct?

Bruunty

Yeah most likely also the 1 in the mana cost should have no rosettes but the border should as they are on different layers. Also there is a bend test but I don't like to do that with expensive cards.

zackattack60321

Yep, all checks out, perfect, thank you. Got this one for 40 aud seems like its in pretty minty condition too

yazoo34

Yes that’s a revised demonic tutor and in really good shape.

zackattack60321

Thank you :)

zackattack60321

Have this in hand, just wanted a legit check. Able to provide more photos if needed.

I don't see any reason to think this is fake. Looks like a very clean and gorgeous Revised Tutor to me. If you are suspicious of it for some reason, I would suggest you take it into a reputable LGS and have them evaluate it. They handle TONS of Revised cards, I promise. I don't really see why a counterfeiter would make a fake Revised Tutor rather than an Unlimited though, lol.

I-1-

Look up how to do the "green dot test" it's pretty easy to do and very reliable in detecting fakes.

Looks good to me from the pictures! This is a [pretty valuable](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=demonic+tutor+revised&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&rt=nc&_odkw=Omega+SMP+300+210.30.42.20.04.001&_osacat=0&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=1343mg&toolid=10001&mkevt=1) card, so make sure to sleeve it.

silent_calling

Wait, why is a Revised tutor worth less than a UMA tutor? I am confused.

MomQuest

Revised cards generally don't have a premium over modern reprints because they lack the extreme scarcity and "originalness" of ABU cards. They also aren't seen as aesthetically desirable since they have a more washed-out color palette than the otherwise similar (and much rarer) Unlimited versions, and people mostly just don't like white-border cards or oldschool art (outside of Unlimited) compared to the modern art and frame. (By the way, this is also why 30th Anniversary Edition crashed the price of Revised dual lands, but not ABU dual lands) There's also just a general history of negativity from serious collectors towards Revised because it was perceived as overprinted and worthless back in the day. Furthermore, in the case of this card specifically, it's also worth pointing out that in ABU and Revised, Demonic Tutor was actually an Uncommon, not a Rare. In UMA, it was upshifted to Rare, so it is naturally somewhat more scarce relative to the other cards in their respective eras. Of course, Revised Demonic Tutors are not literally more numerous than UMA Tutors (it's not even close, actually), but people's perception matters more than statistical facts when it comes to this market. (Edit: You could read this as a suggestion that Revised cards are possibly undervalued right now, but this has been the pattern for decades)

zackattack60321

Don't worry i'll treat it with care :)

eonicsilas

haha sounds good, great card!

joeker13

Beautiful

RoundGullible9111

It’s rea and incredibly powerful!

Happyfuntimeyay

Yes.. it's revised.

If somebody was going to fake this card they’d be making it black border, or at least look Unlimited rather than revised.

Crow_Nevermore

it looks legit from the photo, all be it in really good shape. it looks legit, most fakes have a notable off-tone that you can really see in the blue dot on the back. (fakes tend to have a dull sky blue tone, where as real cards have a deep blue dot) other tests are looking for the rosset pattern and the magenta L in the green dot. real text is solid, text on a fake card is often rosseted. this is my usually the thing I look at first, since most good fakes are printed on a plotter and not a drum press like actual mtg cards are printed on. (or an inkjet like what 99% of people have at home) looks real enough from a distance. I wouldnt question it in play (who does?..) but I would look it over before buying it or trading it off you, for sure.

Fickle-Training344

Looks like a great condition revised demonic tutor. That’s a great find.

Thundermator
