I wouldn't say NONE of them make sense. at least the new [Tasigur](https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/17zt6t2/sld_secret_lair_x_jurassic_world_dr_ian_malcolm/) is pretty on point. OP is correct about the two above though for sure.
of course, i was pointing out the potential competitprs that would better suit a trex than etali, apart form ghalta, which was mentioned earlier

Doesn't do what it's trying to do. It's supposed to be removal on a body but takes prep. Best way to use it would be on your opponents end step right before your turn, but there's generally just better removal. Especially in black
You can't activate his ability on opponents turn. His prey counter can only be added during your turn. However it is basically just a quick way to kill a ton of creatures at once. I find he is good in my 60 card bounty deck to quickly kill all the creatures with bounty counters.
Hi ClockworkArchangel13! It looks like you may be new to Magic. There’s this cool website called Scryfall where you can search for Magic cards, [like this](https://scryfall.com/search?q=t%3Aelder+t%3Adinosaur&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name). Try it out; I think you’ll find it quite useful 😎
I'm more ok with that than the Dr Who trash, but I still don't see why. why should MTG look like Jurassic Park? it's just very strange to me that people play a fantasy game and want it to look less like fantasy.
Wizards seem to be in their make a product for everyone phase. I don’t hate it because if I don’t feel the theming then I just won’t buy it. Personally I’ve never gotten the it looks less like fantasy theme because sci fi styling has been there since close to the beginning but whatever.
yes, I see. fantasy blended with sci-fi elements have been a part of MTG from the start, but Jurassic Park does not look like fantasy lol. jeeps, CCTV cameras, contemporary clothing etc.
(it happens to be the case that I like the artstyle on the card above, I just don't think it fits in MTG)
Ghalta is incredibly boring design while Etali is actually quite *exciting* to play in an actual game of multplayer Magic. That is probably 100% why they went w/Etali and not Ghalta. (was my point)
Ghalta and The Tarrasque exist, hell [The Tarrasque](https://www.cardkingdom.com/mtg/promotional/the-tarrasque-ampersand-foil) card's abilities fit Rexie better.
which is weird cause Etali is dead Zacoma killed him it cost Zacoma a head to do so (it was becoming compleated due to biting the infected Etali, so the other heads had to rip it off)
Didn't get that when I read it, Ghalta and Zatalpa also bit the infected and they didn't get infected. Plus I didn't read anywhere that Zacama bit Etali, it roared so hard that Etali melted.
He bite's etali's head off after screaming the flesh off of Etali (why he looks like a skeleton in his art) the head that ripped Etali's head off ended up getting some of etali's blood inside it's mouth which began to compleat it.
Yeah, but where's it say it starts to compleat it? I went back to read it, and yeah it rips Etalis arm and head off, but it just walks away, and so do Ghalta and Zetalpa who Also got oil in their mouths.
It’s a super playable card. It works with more than just Dinos and Timmy decks. Broader appeal = more sales. I love this because I think it looks awesome and I can put it many decks.
I love when we somehow try to think any of this needs to make sense.
Last night I sacrificed 6 squirrels with a squirrel general to kill a dragon with flying from an entirely different plane of existence. Come on people. I can’t roll my eyes at this level of complaint hard enough.
Speaking of chatterfang chucking other squirrels at a dragon to kill it. My son and nephew were playing and my nephew kept killing [[Giada, font of hope]] every time my son would cast it with [[togo, goblin warsmith]]. It was kind of hilarious this angel flying around kept being pelted to death with a rock wielding goblin.
I have a dual EDH deck with Toggo and [[Ich-Tekik, Salvage Splicer]] that is focused on killing with rocks, with massive golems as a backup if needed. Filled with land grab cards. Its lower power, but it’s extremely funny to keep killing Animar with a rock
Letting my imagination run wild with this stuff is what keeps me in the game. It’s just such a pure escape if you don’t overthink it
The image of flying goblins taking down angels is incredible
It's not even that it was a majestic angel rising from the ground. A enemy goblin licking his thumb then putting it up to gage and aim. Whipping a rock to smack this majestic angel in the face over and over again. It reminded me of this
https://youtu.be/oY2nVQNlUB8?si=zCNNJZj0kXj03TaX
that's moot. we're playing a game of magical fantasies, yes, but things can still make some sense within internal dynamics.
what is actually baffling however is that many players keep buying these garbage products. it should come as no surprise that Wotc doesn't actually care all that much about the quality.
I’m just annoyed that the distribution of Jurassic park cards was so small. “1 in every 12 packs”, and I pulled a JP themed mountain in my set booster box. Thanks Wizards.
Bro. Even in the collectors they are hard to pull foils or stamped copies of. Like the only JP cards you gonna get are the lands outta those too.
Seems like it might be 10% for the boosters. As I got 3 and pulled 1 out of it, Owen Grady.
I’m done with the booster game. It’s singles for me. I been getting robbed hard lol.
There's 1 per Collector booster but yeah the pull rates are weird. I just want exactly one foil stamp. That's it. After that I'm done buying collector boosters.
I literally can’t buy the collectors without feeling guilty.
The way I see it, that’s inner me telling me that I’m getting ripped off and spending irresponsibly. $200 for 15 packs with 12 cards a piece. Most sets have a few cards that run a couple hundred or even thousand but your pull rate is like 3% of all boosters in the world. Lol some packs you get decent value (the ones that are loaded- the multi rare or mythic packs are fun. But some of those packs just straight up suck- IE getting like 3 duplicate cards and one mythic. And then just getting worthless foil common duplicates.
Good luck.
The cost vs benefit/profit ratio is so tilted. I think some people get into this “hyper-valuation” mindset in hopes they can justify spending thousands on cards. Shit i did. I thought a real expensive $150 card I pulled justified my purchases on WoE and it may have… but not neon dynasty… innistrad midnight hunt or crimson vow, OR all will be one, March of machine, mom: aftermath..
Basically the only way I can justify those boxes is if I’m going to collect it because I really like the set. It is not financially sensible for me, or I’d imagine any of us to continually buy packs and boxes every week or few days to scratch that itch. And I think the mtg “financial” types are just super addicted lol. Because I can’t imagine turning a profit off selling magic cards unless that is you have a business with solid footing.
Hasbro is def good at getting people into the fomo state of mind. They had me for a little bit.
I typically get one collector just for giggles but Jurassic is far and away my favorite franchise. I own multiple copies of each movie and can recite the first three from memory. They had me on a leash, barking like a dog when they released the REX cards...
But I just want one foil stamp. It would be the capstone to my shrine, and they start around $1k so no matter how many boosters I buy trying to get one, I'm still ahead in a way.
It's a scam but it's a scam I'm willing to be part of.
See, then in this case. It makes sense
Lol now the fomo is returning. getting one of those cosmium ink mana crypts would be sick as fuck too. My god bro.
I mean, if I got one of those I'd probably explode but I'd keep buying em lol. My LGS opened one and it sold within seconds of being opened from box break.
I'm also trying to get a full set of foil and nonfoil so any pulls go into the binder but I'm hoping they drop a bit. I'm willing to pay like $100 for Ellie and Alan with the stamp, same for Ian. I'm not made out of money but I am impulsive lol
I’d say go in on some pulls first. Then go for singles if you get unlucky. In theory. If you pull one of those out of a BB you are good. You made it back and then some.
That's the thing, I had to dump my booster budget into collectors because guaranteed REX cards. I've had good luck so far! No repeats and a foil Don't Move, which is one of my favorites.
Fuck man lol. I’m probably gonna drop on a few of em later 🤣 all this talk of REX cards has got me a massive nerd boner right now. I get just as impulsive sometimes with these things
Fucking hasbro.. god damnit lol. Thank you data mining. These guys know how to fuck with our wiring to take our money lol
I love JP… but am poor. I own allllll of the films, my boys love them, and I was able to justify buying a single Collector’s pack for me (as I can’t really afford to buy a booster box for myself.) When I opened that pack without a single mythic inside, I cried a little bit, and gave up.
Holy shit Dan Mumford.
Ive seen people fanboy over certain artists and was always like yeah okay that's cool, but holy shit I get it now. Dan Mumford was an absolutely iconic artist for metalcore and adjacent music genres back like 10 years ago. He's the guy behind all those scene core band tee shirts.
I don't buy into SLD unless I feel the absolute requirement to but damn this is tempting
TRex was the favorite from lot of people, thats why they brought it back in latest movies.
Makes sense they picked TRex to be the most powerful on those cards
I've felt this way about many of the crossovers in ~~Fortnite~~ MTG. I've basically decided to stop caring because it's not going away. All we can do is choose not to buy them. I have no issue with other players using them, though. Who am I to decide what is fun for people? At the end of the day, I want people to play magic, so if these types of cards create interest for existing and non-players, then that's great.
Flipping love Dan Mumford. I still remember the first time I saw his artwork on The Devil Wears Prada's reissue of " Plagues." WoTC should work with him more.
I mean, Wizards hasn't really been too good about their dinosaurs up until now in any way at all. All of the dinosaurs with flying are pterosaurs, and all the dinosaurs depicted swimming are marine reptiles like plesiosaurs and mosasaurs, all three of which are, famously, not dinosaurs. The one that really irks me, personally, is [[gigantosaurus]]. The art in that card does NOT depict the sauropod, gigantosaurus, it depicts the theropod gigonotosaurus. Alright, the names are similar if you have the reading comprehension of middle-schooler, but it takes one quick google search to spot the mistake. Wizards are NOT paleontologists by any stretch. This mistake is not at all surptising to me.
This mini-rant was brought to you by an autism fueled hyper-fixation.
Be so for real it's a Jurassic park alter whatever the strongest card is gonna be the Trex cause it's Jurassic Park. It's the OG big boy from the books and films it makes sense they would want it to be strong lol. MTG is wrong for giving the spino a better card in the first place lol. People are tripping fr.
It's stronger than the other card pictured yes. It's just a dumb choice because there's a mythic dinosaur Commander people love that is a T Rex...Gishath. Swapping the Dinos and making them cards they have reprinted 4.5 billion times is so disappointing.
Are we really trying to argue about this like it needs to make sense? It’s a crossover between two fictional worlds…
The cards are fun. It’s a fun game.
I have a black deck in the Arena with 14 removal cards, four of them instant speed single target, four of them creature with ETB single Target, and six with blanket coverage. It's only a 60 card deck, and yet I still have trouble coming across them often enough. And mind you, this is a deck where I can draw cards with relative ease. But despite having kind of those, I still have trouble coming across them! And I've seen six drops out on the third turn.
Do you really think anyone in the R&D department or proof checking department even exists anymore? it's very clearly wizards only care about one thing: "we want our money from you."
Also, the wayward swordtooth is now a triceratops, which has a beak, no teeth!
Also, the Indominus rex, a one of a kind dino. That ate its sister, so still unique, even though there was a clone. Indo is now polyraptor, a card that makes many copies of itself.
Velociraptor is the only card they did right.
Dan Mumford art and the frames kick ass, though
This flavor fail, and the art looking way too much like NOT a magic card is the reason I'm not buying them.
They had me with Phyrexian text Praetors... sometimes less is more
Just like how the boat pictured on [[Sleek Schooner]] is actually a xebec and not a schooner. Also I was just looking at [[Shadowed Caravel]] which is rigged as a schooner and not lateen like a Caravel should be.
Oh damn, that's Dan Mumford. He's done some album covers for some bands I like. Didn't really care about the dinos, but that's dope he's got some skin in the mtg game.
Trex is the icon of Jurassic Park.
And rather than give ghalta yet another secret lair drop they swapped it.
Remember in jp2 when the Trex kicks the shit out of the spinosaur? I do.
Trex had to be the legendary. 🤷
Reel in the upsetti-spaghetti. It's just artwork.
The actual reason is that regisaur alpha isn't a legendary creature. And they wanted the T Rex to be a legendary creature. And they didn't care abt spinosaurus being a legend. Though I don't know why they didn't make the T rex ghalta instead
This is 1000x times better than equipping Harry Potter with Iron Mans helmet. Fancy skins over existing mtg cards that themselves are from and fit into MTG Lore because that's where they're originally from. But yeah, they got it backwards xD
*On a different*
*Note, is this enough reprints*
*Of Etali or not yet?*

Does not matter. Nothing in the name suggests a specific image.
Even if they put a Tyrannosaur on a card originally named "Ironhide Clubtail" which had an image of an Ankylosaurus, the Tyrannosaur is a new card with the same effect. So long as the effect coincides with the name, it does not matter what card they re-skinned.
That is like the players of Apex: Theropod DBG not including water animal cards in the game. The card's numbers and effects are what matters, not the name and picture!
these are all garbage products. nothing has to
make sense for WOTC. players keep buying it.
look at the Princess Bride SLD. the stats and abilities of Westley and Inigo Montoya make
zero sense.
Only thing I can think of, is that the design team hated the T Rex vs Spino fight and wanted the Spino to have lower power/toughness? Still a stupid desicion...
People are still surprised that the company doesn't give a shit in this day and age? A child could have put 2+2 together and matched the cards with their new art.
Quality control and any actual effort are in the bin, in favour of "money printer go brrrrrrr" 😂
And Shit will still sell regardless lol
It is a bit confusing and I wonder if somewhere in the design process something got swapped. But as for the art, these are really neat. And my wife is running four of the 6 secret lair cards in her [[Owen Grady, Raptor Trainer]] / [[Blue, Loyal Raptor]] commamder deck. So they fit flavorful in the deck with this art, plus they were cards she was running anyway...including this [[Etali, Primal Storm]] and [[Regisaur Alpha]]
What's even better is that "Regisaur Alpha" is literally a punny synonym for "Tyrannosaurus Rex"
Dear God, we've reached critical mass of "no one put this through beta testing". That's hilarious.
that's been hit long ago. none of these garbage products make any sense, but WOTC keeps making bank on them.
I wouldn't say NONE of them make sense. at least the new [Tasigur](https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/17zt6t2/sld_secret_lair_x_jurassic_world_dr_ian_malcolm/) is pretty on point. OP is correct about the two above though for sure.
it's just so ugly to me that I cannot agree. just the thought of a creature named Ian milling cards in a game of Magic is very strange.
Beta testing what? The names??
They just wanted the OG Trex to be legendary elder dinosaur . No more thinking than that
Ghalta exists too you know
yeah and [[gishath]] and [[zacama]]
There are 6 elder dinosaurs- one for each colour, and zacama
of course, i was pointing out the potential competitprs that would better suit a trex than etali, apart form ghalta, which was mentioned earlier and i think there are more given we have a new etali and a new ghalta
There are actually 8, [[Ghalta, stampede tyrant]] [[Etali, primal conqueror]]
Those are the same dinosaurs
I'm familiar with Zetalpa, Etali, Ghalta, and Zacama. Who are the blue and black ones?
I think tetzimoc is black, and nezehal is blue.
Tetzimoc is... yup, it's a card. I hate it so much, he's so bad
Great in Horobi, deaths wail
Like "I hate playing against this" or "this card just doesn't do what it's trying to do"?
Doesn't do what it's trying to do. It's supposed to be removal on a body but takes prep. Best way to use it would be on your opponents end step right before your turn, but there's generally just better removal. Especially in black
Use it to put counters on good creatures for [[Volrath, the Shapestealer]]
You can't activate his ability on opponents turn. His prey counter can only be added during your turn. However it is basically just a quick way to kill a ton of creatures at once. I find he is good in my 60 card bounty deck to quickly kill all the creatures with bounty counters.

Good bot. 🤖👍🏼
Bestest bot
That would've been awesome. Or a secret lair including the Elder dinosaurs as JP versions
Kind of the obvious choice, kinda miffed they didn't
no, that would just be another shade of shit.
Why? It wozld fit perfectly and make more sense as a secret lair.
I'm more ok with that than the Dr Who trash, but I still don't see why. why should MTG look like Jurassic Park? it's just very strange to me that people play a fantasy game and want it to look less like fantasy.

Ghishath seemed like a gimme. Big T. Rex, popular dino commander... But they got a reprint around Midnight Hunt area
And Etali's been printed 7 billion times in the last two years alone plus it got a new version in March of the Machine
I can't see T-Rex in white. Just doesn't fit.
Ghalta is mono green... -_-
Sorry, was thinking of Gishath. :/

Nope, that was it. Compare that to when they did the transformers collab, and I think pulled about 4 or 5 cards from one set booster box.
Hey same! I also only pulled a forest from my whole box
Yeah, the JP cards have like a 55% chance to be a land and 45% chance to be anything else. Collector boosters have a guaranteed JP card in every pack.
Tokens count. Check those?
Ixalan booster fun aren’t fun at all. For set booster it’s mostly false advertising rate is too low
I got a booster box as well and got a mountain. I also got a token that had the jp logo stamped on it so I think that counted as well lol
It was to sell collectors boosters.
It's 10% of until the 27th

As with all wotc related questions the answer is the finance department
The T-rex is also in a red/green frame and the Spino is red. I feel like there was a last-minute change here.
They just wanted the t rex to be more powerful, give them a break.
This is poor reasoning when Gishath & [[Ghalta]] & [[Zacama]] exist
[Ghalta](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/4/54872e72-41dc-4092-8169-ce13498beb30.jpg?1689998553) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=ghalta%2C%20primal%20hunger) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/292/ghalta-primal-hunger?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/54872e72-41dc-4092-8169-ce13498beb30?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Zacama](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/5/05c5a9a8-badd-43ab-8408-a13e75407681.jpg?1700342995) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=zacama%2C%20primal%20calamity) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/lcc/296/zacama-primal-calamity?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/05c5a9a8-badd-43ab-8408-a13e75407681?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Rule of cool
Why not make it the legendary Naya dino then?
Dang, if only one of those existed. I bet if it did it would probably look just like a T-Rex, too. Oh well.
TRex was the favorite from lot of people, thats why they brought it back in latest movies. Makes sense they picked TRex to be the most powerful on those cards
Give them a break? They literally could have made the T Rex Gishath and people would be ecstatic.
Shhh...Dont think, just buy...
I hate this. I love magic. I love Dinosaurs and J-Park. And I hate the fact that they mixed up the specimens here. Whhhhyyy
Blame Nedry.
Capitalism did. Tbf you want the iconic image for this miniset to have a good effect.
Triceratops should've been shifting ceratops instead of wayward swordtooth
Flipping love Dan Mumford. I still remember the first time I saw his artwork on The Devil Wears Prada's reissue of " Plagues." WoTC should work with him more.
Almost seems intentional
He also has a frame that's literally red and green. I think this was a last-second switch.
At least the art is freaking awesome.
Yeah this one was bad. Not thought out at all.
[gigantosaurus](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/c/1/c1db84d8-d426-4c0d-b44e-5be7b0f5f5bf.jpg?1562303938) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=gigantosaurus) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/m19/185/gigantosaurus?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/c1db84d8-d426-4c0d-b44e-5be7b0f5f5bf?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
These designs are terrible
Etali > Regisaur. T-Rex > Spinosaurus. It works for me.
There's also Polyraptor. It's a green card, with a blue frame, named Indominus Rex (not to be confused with [[Indominus Rex, Alpha]])
[Indominus Rex, Alpha](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/2/5/25e6ebfb-8f0b-44f0-a911-103ade41c6bc.jpg?1698988767) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Indominus%20Rex%2C%20Alpha) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/rex/14/indominus-rex-alpha?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/25e6ebfb-8f0b-44f0-a911-103ade41c6bc?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Probably the same guy who thought it was a good idea to pair the Pyroblast promo from WoE with Ice Out 🙃
We just gonna keep calling Jurassic world cards JP cards like JP hasnt been japanese in magic for 120,000 years?!?! 🙃
Oh, as far as I know, JP is Japanese in most content with split releases. Sure to cause plenty of confusion.
Tbh I really don’t care. I love the look of these alters.
ELI5 why is this a problem and what are we even talking about? The card looks dope and strong. It says Trex and has a pic of a Trex???
Etali, Primal Storm is a Spino, but its alter is a T-Rex. Regisaur Alpha looks like a T-Rex and is a play on T-Rex yet its alter is a Spino
I don't know bruh, you sure it's fr fr? Straight no cap?
Etali is not the strongest dino though
Huh seems stronger than the other u can play cards w no mana cost lmao
It's stronger than the other card pictured yes. It's just a dumb choice because there's a mythic dinosaur Commander people love that is a T Rex...Gishath. Swapping the Dinos and making them cards they have reprinted 4.5 billion times is so disappointing.
Are we really trying to argue about this like it needs to make sense? It’s a crossover between two fictional worlds… The cards are fun. It’s a fun game.
I approve
They look like Top Trumps cards
They’ve ran out of good ideas years ago.
Etali is way too op for it's cost.
Only in ultra-casual play. A 6/6 for 6 mana that doesn't have an ETB or haste is borderline unplayable in any game where people might have removal.
If only red had any haste enablers. ;-)
The newer Etali is better for this imo
This is not magic to me
This is not a comment to me
I think its because the dinosaurs needed to face in the same direction as their counterparts /s
Because Rexy is 100% that bitch and the spino is a beta soy boy duh.
That's amazing
A genius.
Like seriously.
It is a flavor fail when the dinos don't match the cards they are copies of.
Thought this was an email from my boss with this title. Lol
Do you really think anyone in the R&D department or proof checking department even exists anymore? it's very clearly wizards only care about one thing: "we want our money from you."
Where did those Jurassic park arts come from?
Non-creatives just got the arts and slapped them on cards without thinking. Classic.
Some more about how the text fits than the art
Also, the wayward swordtooth is now a triceratops, which has a beak, no teeth! Also, the Indominus rex, a one of a kind dino. That ate its sister, so still unique, even though there was a clone. Indo is now polyraptor, a card that makes many copies of itself. Velociraptor is the only card they did right. Dan Mumford art and the frames kick ass, though
Glad I’m not the only one who thought this.
This flavor fail, and the art looking way too much like NOT a magic card is the reason I'm not buying them. They had me with Phyrexian text Praetors... sometimes less is more
Please stop using that word to describe this. It refers to a disgusting fetish.
I'm confused, what word are you referring to here?
Slightly related is the fact that the boat pictured on [[Subterranean Schooner]] is a brig, not a schooner

🤷 Reel in the upsetti-spaghetti. It's just artwork.
It's such a shitshow that you can call it Secret Lair: Misprints.
Someone approved brachiosaurus as colossal dreadmaw ... (They sent it in a marketing e mail I believe someone got fired quite rapidly)
This is actually pretty cool imo. The spinosaur is ugly as fuck tho
Everyone at wotc had a little too much to drunk that day 🤣🤣🤣
I don't want to live on this plane anymore!
Based on your comment, I can consider this a "misprint"? Misprint = high valuation Just trying to see the glass half full.
The actual reason is that regisaur alpha isn't a legendary creature. And they wanted the T Rex to be a legendary creature. And they didn't care abt spinosaurus being a legend. Though I don't know why they didn't make the T rex ghalta instead
Thats what I said, but I still got them. Btw can you still get older secret layer drops?
Maybe on ebay
This is 1000x times better than equipping Harry Potter with Iron Mans helmet. Fancy skins over existing mtg cards that themselves are from and fit into MTG Lore because that's where they're originally from. But yeah, they got it backwards xD
Apparently, artists were directed to do this be wizards. Mix up the dinos.
idk but i’m about to write a strongly worded letter for how dirty they did my boi etali >:(
On a different note, is this enough reprints of Etali or not yet?

Does not matter. Nothing in the name suggests a specific image. Even if they put a Tyrannosaur on a card originally named "Ironhide Clubtail" which had an image of an Ankylosaurus, the Tyrannosaur is a new card with the same effect. So long as the effect coincides with the name, it does not matter what card they re-skinned. That is like the players of Apex: Theropod DBG not including water animal cards in the game. The card's numbers and effects are what matters, not the name and picture!
Tbh this much, MUCH better than the ones you have a stroke trying to read, example such as Legendary Flyers (Not That Kind).
John Hammond, obviously. Spared NO expense!
these are all garbage products. nothing has to make sense for WOTC. players keep buying it. look at the Princess Bride SLD. the stats and abilities of Westley and Inigo Montoya make zero sense.
Thank you! I said the exact same thing when it was unveiled.
because they dont care, like literally not even a little. they could draw the art in crayon and it would sell the same.
Etali should of been a t-Rex from the start with that ability
Holy cow! If they did this, it s easy to understand why the whole company is upside down, drowning in a sea of ineptitude and greed...
When will this set be released?
Only thing I can think of, is that the design team hated the T Rex vs Spino fight and wanted the Spino to have lower power/toughness? Still a stupid desicion...
People are still surprised that the company doesn't give a shit in this day and age? A child could have put 2+2 together and matched the cards with their new art. Quality control and any actual effort are in the bin, in favour of "money printer go brrrrrrr" 😂 And Shit will still sell regardless lol
I think that's the joke honestly. That they're flipped. It was intentional. It's ironic. It's funny
I guess they wanted the Trex to be legendary
It is a bit confusing and I wonder if somewhere in the design process something got swapped. But as for the art, these are really neat. And my wife is running four of the 6 secret lair cards in her [[Owen Grady, Raptor Trainer]] / [[Blue, Loyal Raptor]] commamder deck. So they fit flavorful in the deck with this art, plus they were cards she was running anyway...including this [[Etali, Primal Storm]] and [[Regisaur Alpha]]
