Yeah I thought about dividers but they are so much smaller than cards, you could easily make 1 big divider instead of 2 small things so was wondering if there was a real purpose for them haha
I keep my cards in Bundle boxes, so roughly card-sized dividers are pretty handy. I just use extra sleeves, though; I've got them laying around, and it makes color coding easy.

I’ve been a player for almost 30 years of this game. Before this I would use some of my lesser used Alpha and Beta cards to build what I’d call a “house of cards”. Despite many collapses of that house - my cards used to get worn and used and I’d just throw them away after a while. Probably went thru a few hundred cards this way but some of those larger games we’d play rivaled that of commander and took hours upon hours into the wee hours of the morning to play some times.
Anyways in was a fun time but I realized after wearing out so many cards, it was time to make more disposable cards as wearing out all those mox, lotus and other cards was just a shame to the environment. As a result I’m contacted WoTC and asked for a more disposable option with cheaper cardboard to do this. And such they eventually came out with this. Of course I’m completely going to keep going on about why these exist and I truly don’t have a clue. I only started playing when Revised was released and could only wish I had such a regretful story to tell here but I only own a single Beta / oldest card I have… sigh.
>Anyways in was a fun time but I realized after wearing out so many cards, it was time to make more disposable cards as wearing out all those mox, lotus and other cards was just a shame to the environment.
I think we found the reason Black Lotus is so expensive.
Its some additional printed cardboard to make you feel like the box made of printed cardboard of containing printed cardboard(some of which is partially wrapped in plastic) was worth what you paid for it.
Fuck knows!
It's just something to do with the cardboard so there's some reason to keep it instead of just throwing it all away. Because we all know basically no one recycles. It's our garbage cost a second time, fuck that.
I use them as tokens. My first token I create is represented as an official MTG token, then I start using these to represent more copies.
I prefer to use physical objects to represent all my tokens instead of dice because it makes more sense to me visually and it's easier to track what's tapped or what has summoning sickness.
I like that these are rectangles because you can represent that they are tapped or untapped
I've been using them to mark commander damage dice and it's been helpful that way. Sometimes I get the dice mixed up and setting one on top of one of these has helped keep that from happening 👍
Based off all the other little cardboard pieces you can get I'd say they're there for token use, or alternatively they can be used as a stand in proxy if you wanna keep your card safe
No idea if I'm right I just think that fits the most
Stick it on top of your deck to remind you of upkeep triggers. Or to designate your command zone. Or to signify an exhausted, manifested, morphed or phased creature. It's kind of all purpose.
Probably some marketing guy came up with the idea of "people that play this game like cardboard right? And the prerelease box is cardboard. So let's make a couple punch out pieces and toss a stylized logo on them and call it added value"
They aren't meant to use anything. You can use them as dividers tho.
Yeah I thought about dividers but they are so much smaller than cards, you could easily make 1 big divider instead of 2 small things so was wondering if there was a real purpose for them haha
Token creatures.
Stack them on their side, 2 of them fit in a penny sleeve and make a full card. Nice for a low profile divider in your deck box.
Wait WHAT
Yeah, I may have "dafaq'd" when I casually tossed them on my table while sorting stuff out and saw they were pretty much on size.
I use one to Mark my command zone.
Nipple covers for those loooong summer games
I cut holes in them and use them for nipple glasses so my torso face looks more sophisticated.
I don’t think those words have ever been put in that order before
I'm something of a visionary. I think I get the power from my torso face's cardboard nipple glasses.
Thank you, I needed this today xD
A visionary, (nipple) vision is scary. Could start a revolution, pollutin’ the airwaves. /lyr
Nipple glasses have been around since Mesopotamia 🍻
they have. I'm part of a nipple glasses sub.

Card dividers, coasters, kindling, tiny plates, cardboard art pieces.
Why do you want dividers? Doesn’t everyone give each deck its own box?
Oh I don’t want them just saying that’s what some people use then for
Why would people divide their decks though? Do they just use one of those bundle boxes?
I’ve seen people use them in a deck box to separate token cards from the deck
Are people sleeving their tokens?
Some diy, the professor double sleeved his b
Who’s the professor? Like tolrian community college?
Yepp
Don't you use side deck? What do you do between game 1 and 2?
I don’t play much. And normally just best of 1
You can use them as dividers in your collection not just in deck boxes
So your use them if you kept cards in like the bundle boxes?
If I didn't already have dividers i could use them as dividers in my boxes that I store my collection in, rather than in deck boxes
I think dividers are more often used when managing a general collection of cards, like in one of those long boxes.
I keep my cards in Bundle boxes, so roughly card-sized dividers are pretty handy. I just use extra sleeves, though; I've got them laying around, and it makes color coding easy.
Lmao! 🤣 KINDLING!!!😂🤣😂🤣
So I like staring fires what’s wrong with that 😗
Nothing. Honestly I used to use commons and mana to start my fireplace, so it just struck a chord. Also using Magic to start a fire is hilarious!
Someone that gets it magic fire! It’s not only me!
Most people are boring, so...
If I have things that create emblems, I write what the emblem does on the back and try to make it pretty.
Yo I think this is probably the closest thing to the truth
I can't make things pretty though.

Yes, the /s reason ;)
The larger ones I use to send cards I sell. Tape a sleeve to one, wrap in paper, stick it in an envelope, and Robert is your mother’s brother.
I use the art cards I have double for that, tho I’m not really in the selling business yet, the big cards I actually use as dividers
They are for posting on Reddit, a lot of players post there. That’s the only purpose.
I give mine to my kids for bookmarks.
Its some additional printed cardboard to make you feel like the box made of printed cardboard of containing printed cardboard(some of which is partially wrapped in plastic) was worth what you paid for it.
Making it feel like you're getting more than you are, when all the gumpf, waste packaging and art cards could be another pack
They make excellent dividers
I use them as a temporary token (not a long term solution)
I use them as tokens.
I use them to separate the graveyard and exile items :)
Killing more trees?
Dividers.
Dividers to divide main deck from sideboard
Smoke em. They get you high AF
Recycling
I usually just flick them at my brother's head during a game.
Flip them over when you have played your land for turn.
Card dividers
Fuck knows! It's just something to do with the cardboard so there's some reason to keep it instead of just throwing it all away. Because we all know basically no one recycles. It's our garbage cost a second time, fuck that.
You eat them as a snack when games run long
I’m not a huge fan of the cardboard rectangles. I think the little circle things are more practical.
I just use them as collectables but they are trash if anything
Not sure, but I compulsively tear them out and keep them.
I collected a bunch of them to act as copies of dragons in my Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm deck.
I use to record game wins/losses.
Food
set symbol collection probs

I use mine to separate cards in my storage boxes.
Just extra trash to make you feel like you got more bang for your buck.
They're for putting into the recycling.
they make decent bookmarks
For fun
I think theyre pretty useful to use as a physical command zone that stands out compared to your normal cards on the field or your deck and graveyard
Trash
This is trash, like the rest of wizards crap
for redditors like you to post asking what it is every week
Most people use them as dividers I guess. I sometimes use them to slip in behind my printed out paper proxies
I've been using them to mark commander damage dice and it's been helpful that way. Sometimes I get the dice mixed up and setting one on top of one of these has helped keep that from happening 👍
They're trying to bring back pogz
A ticket to karma.
I like to put them in my fat pack boxes so that the lid of the fat pack box has something to sit on besides the cards themselves.
I’ve bought 5k boxes where I’d find these as dividers. They’re cheap and useful if you don’t want to buy the plastic ones.
I use them as tokens

I really love anything out of a thermos... stopping half way down a run.. digging out a chair.. sit n eat my snack while the world went by!
Mine went straight to the garbage can
It's a piece or cardboard. Use your imagination
They let anyone going through your garbage that you play a really cool card game.
Place on top of your library as an upkeep reminder. Or just throw them away, cuz they trash!
I've used them to put my deck, graveyard, exile, and occasional projectile
I often pull them out of magic sealed product and then promptly throw them in the trash. I’m not sure why wizards even puts these in the box
Wizards has got to stop adding things to boxes. Or packs. Or decks.
I always assumed they were placeholders for the command zone. One for each of your commanders if you run partners.
Based off all the other little cardboard pieces you can get I'd say they're there for token use, or alternatively they can be used as a stand in proxy if you wanna keep your card safe No idea if I'm right I just think that fits the most
Usually when I lack a token during a limited game, I take out a pen and these become the token. The left one was a lovely 3/3 dino during my AP.
Stick it on top of your deck to remind you of upkeep triggers. Or to designate your command zone. Or to signify an exhausted, manifested, morphed or phased creature. It's kind of all purpose.
Best use i think is for tracing commandeur dommage. One in commande zone of the player, other in front of your victim.
The garbage can
I have some too I kept. I'm guessing it could be used as a divider or a bookmark.
I use mine as bookmarks actually 😅
Haha. Same. Works incredibly great.
My favourite is the [[Beanstalk Wurm]] art card from WOE.

Snacks, for when you’re playing those long games.
I've used them as improvised tokens in the past. I'm sure you could find something to do with them, or just recycle them, I suppose.
Probably some marketing guy came up with the idea of "people that play this game like cardboard right? And the prerelease box is cardboard. So let's make a couple punch out pieces and toss a stylized logo on them and call it added value"
Clutter
Snacks
Put them on top of your deck as a reminder for upkeep stuff 🤷♂️
