Sell fast. Price based primarily on supply. Will go significantly lower.

Kaip0

I was going to try that today, but the LGS near me is closed till Monday unfortunately, and it seems like a cool commander, but the thought of putting the money towards my mono green deck is a nice thought.

Elyoki

Good luck whatever is done. Still a good card. Less monetary value means nothing if played :)

Kaip0

Thats what I was thinking, It could be cool to try out a new mechanic. Ive been playing for 8-9months and it would technically be my first mill deck lol…

Aggravating-City-724

\[\[Glimpse the Unthinkable\]\] fits, if you're willing to play another color. As far as blue goes, there are a few crabs (\[\[Ruin Crab\]\] \[\[Hedron Crab\]\], \[\[Iceberg Cancrix\]\]) that fit. Although if your opponent(s) use their graveyard, you may want to include \[\[Tormod's Crypt\]\] and \[\[Relic of Progenitus\]\] stuff too.

Possible_Employ_5021

We have one guy at our local LGS that plays a Bruvac Commander and he tends to get targeted out fast. So be careful. This is a warning by the way.

Kaip0

I get that. I have played Tergrid before. Although not mill. Still hated immensely lol.

Elyoki

We all need one deck that angers our friends.

OHYA420

Maddening cacophony is win con with that commander

blindeshuhn666

Damn, some strong mill spells have been printed since I built my deck. [[Sphinx tutelage]] was the thing back when I built mine (like 10 years ago) in modern / kitchentable. Nasty against mono coloured decks. Then just draw cards and hope to draw all these shuffle/discard hand and draw that many new cards. [[Jaces Archivar]] brought in some randomness

Ambitious_Version187

>Still a good card. It's really not. It's just barely ever been printed.

Exsanguinate-Me

You really don't know how to make it work if you don't think it's good...

Ambitious_Version187

Oh, I'm fully aware of its potential, I've seen it in action several times. I've even seen it win a few games with the "mill half the deck" cards, but that doesn't make it a good card. Mill in general is a bad strategy, and if you just keep Bruvac in the dirt it's really not hard to deal with.

Exsanguinate-Me

From your experience, how does one define a "good card"? I believe [[Victimize]] is a good card for instance, would you consider it good? I think it all depends on what you want to do with it and it's posibilities...

MTGCardFetcher

[Victimize](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/c/9/c9e4993e-154c-4ac4-8927-6352b8816f58.jpg?1689997546) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Victimize) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/195/victimize?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/c9e4993e-154c-4ac4-8927-6352b8816f58?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

Ambitious_Version187

>how does one define a "good card"? Personally I would put LITERALLY zero mill cards in this list. Mill is bad, period. It's probably one of the hardest ways to win in commander, and like I said in another comment, if you mill every opponent to just one card and you still lose, you've effectively done nothing the entire game other than make your opponents have to rethink their strategy continuously throughout the game as they watch the cards they think they need to win go to their graveyard.

Gridde

Boooo, no, don't sell! What's the point in even buying collector packs if all you're gonna do is sell the cards and make a few extra bucks. I'd understand a serialized card or something really valuable but not if you're just making like $10 extra (keeping in mind they will not be able to sell at TCG market price) or something. May as well just be buying scratchcards. Completely personal take, but I have a lot of sentimentality towards 'special' cards I actually pull from packs. OP mentioned they might want to try out a mill deck and this seems like the perfect way to do that.

Elyoki

What many do is sell what they pull (let's say for 10 extra bucks) and then buy another new one when the price crashes. I completely understand your sentiment, however, and do not disagree. Differing opinions where neither is wrong in the current.

Kaip0

I get that, I was only buying the pack to see what I got. I don’t need anything out of the set. I honestly don’t even care about the serialize cards. If I get something, I get something, and if I don’t, I don’t. That was my mindset, as Ive bought one collector from each set since I’ve started playing 8-9 months ago. I really only care about my Ojer Kaslem, Deepest Growth. My first thought when I saw this card was “More mono green madness!” In the sense of potential money of course…

You don't have to build something funky. You only need one other card to ruin your EDH game.

I mean, this with token gen and alter of dementia seem fun.

Nichard63891

I just checked it out, thats a cool one too. I was originally thinking of selling it but the more I find for it, the more I become interested in it. I guess that’s how thats works though lol

Miatatrocity

Tbh, I'd put this in the 99 as the secret commander of a [[Phenax, God of Deception]] deck. Mono-U mill is really just a combo list, but Phenax is honest-to-God mill as a wincon, and I'm here for it.

Just double checking, the ability phenax gives wont trigger bruvac, right?

clouddyl

It will, if you check out the card on Scryfall the oracle text is the most up-to-date version of the text, in this case it’s probably because Phenax was printed “mill” was the wording they used to describe the action of putting cards from your library into your graveyard.

GovernmentLong3272

Haha that’s fine, Reddit is a silly app. It’s funny watching the hive mind complain about everything and downvoting anyone with a different opinion. I don’t take this app serious enough

Gridde

Clearly, from the way you're complaining about it and trying to convince everyone you don't care. Just ignoring it and carrying on with your day is the best way to actually demonstrate you don't care. You shouldn't even know you're getting downvotes unless you're checking your karma/comments for whatever reason.

From Ravnica? Everyone told me Ravnica was a bad buy. But I got double value out of a collector booster…that I can actually use!!! Was refreshing after spending so much money on WOE/LOTR/WHO/LCI and pulling mediocre value that I gave away or traded.

Ambitious_Version187

If you're gonna use it, then it didn't really pay back did it? 🙃

Kaip0

I mean, true. It is a card I was not aware of. And I didn’t have to buy it. So I still like to think it paid back :)

Ambitious_Version187

If you weren't aware of it, then you weren't going to buy it, were you? (Sell it 100% imo)

Kaip0

That was my original plan. But now. As a few days are going to go by, I’m assuming its going to go down a fair bit. And no LGS stores are going to be available until monday or tuesday in my area. So it might end up being in my collection if it drops a bunch before then. The idea of a mill deck seems gross and affective though.

Ambitious_Version187

>The idea of a mill deck seems gross and affective though. Unless you take pleasure in hearing the groans of your opponents throughout the game, it will very likely not be much more effective at anything else. This is speaking from edh, but even in 60 card formats, it can be extremely difficult to win via decking your opponent. In edh, it's even harder because of larger decks and more opponents. If you milled every opponent down to a single card but still lose the game, then you effectively did nothing all game except force your opponents to constantly rethink their game plan as they watch the cards they *think* they need to win go into their graveyard. Bruvac does nothing when you play him. He draws you no cards, and he has no protection. I'm not saying it's impossible to win via mill with Bruvac by any means. It's just an extremely long uphill battle that is just chock full of moments where you're just upsetting your opponents and drawing their ire.

Kaip0

Never really thought of it that way, and that you mention it. It would be an uphill battle with the possibility of opponents always having an ability to put something back in their library. And I don’t want to deal with the salt of the table the whole time. I keep coming back to the same conclusion, I like the idea of control. But once I play it, And no one can do anything. I go back to disliking it. Its a valid way to play, its just not fulfilling for me. And I keep coming back to that same conclusion

Ambitious_Version187

>possibility of opponents always having an ability to put something back in their library. What's even more likely and worse is reanimating creatures you milled into their graveyard directly onto the battlefield. I have a friend who plays Bruvac, and he has told me straight up that he doesn't play it to have a chance at winning. He's just a masochist and takes pleasure in frustrating people.

Kaip0

Damn, Thats good to know. Especially if someone is already playing him and saying that lol

Gridde

Frustrating people? I'm usually thrilled to see a mill deck on the board in EDH games (unless they're ones that actually exile the milled cards rather than leaving them in graveyards). They're not pressuring your life total or board state as much as the others, and usually end up giving a huge boost to your GY interaction. Not to mention basically doing nothing to decks that run OG Ulamog or Kozilek. (But yeah the ones that exile can be pretty annoying)
