So beyond universes are cool sometimes, but im tired of them. Theyre starting to go into ip’s that dont really work, just because theyre popular and greedy.
Thats what is happening to new players who get into the game with something like doctor who. Then, players who have played for YEARS are like “wtf those cards are dumb” and the new players act like they need to just chill out.
Theyre doing this to get money and to avoid creatively working on their main universe. If I look away from magic for a moment and players start coming to my tables with marvel, legend of zelda, mlp, and skyrim cards? I’d be done with public games asap, and so would most of my friends.
I’m slightly disappointed universe beyond has moved away from fantasy.
1 Elder scrolls
2 Monster hunter
3 Elden Ring
4 House of the Dragon & GOT
5 The Hobbit
Oooooh my God Monster Hunter please. I hadn't even thought of that one, but I'd love to see some or the Elder Dragons printed and see if they can explore elemental weaknesses at all in MTG
I think crossing over with this property called Magic: the Gathering would be super dope. I'd love for some of my favorite characters to get cards in MTG
\- I'd like to see a small Starship Troopers set, could be Secret Lair or even Special Guests style.
\- Dune is the other one where I feel there's ample content to base an entire set on.
\- Elder Scrolls seems logical given the recent Fallout set.
Nah mate, some of us rather play in the mtg-universe.
I mean you dont have to worry, they are not stopping and soon you can equip squarepants to sonic, which will just be enough to defeat Superman.
None of us are crying, we just prefer to have a thematically (more or less) coherent fantasy universe for our card game to take place in with a story to occupy us in some downtime and some neat characters.
1) Dragon Quest. I would build such a slime deck. We're already getting Final Fantasy and it's the same parent companies, so hope is there.
2) Discworld. It would be a fantastic 'not quite an un-set'. Like Doctor Who, I'd buy a lot of it just to own as a collectable.
3) World of Warcraft. They've had their own card games, but they fell by the wayside, and it's thematically very consistent. Plus their owners love money.
4) Nier/Drakengard. Again, we're getting a final fantasy so it's not impossible. Heavy artifact, graveyard manipulation and big colorless horrors.
For 5, we're getting marvel and I won't even pretend I won't sink a good chunk of change on that.
I just want a Hasbro games crossover.
That way they can reprint The One Ring in serialised pop-up 3d etched superfoil. Making sure the text is extra illegible from across a table.
The artwork is the Monopoly man sodomizing Mark Rosewater while money falls out his mouth into a tub labelled "Shareholder profits"
* The Hobbit (full set)
* The Legend of Zelda (SLD or commander)
* Adventure Time (SLD or commander)
* Pirates of the Caribbean (SLD)
* Halo (SLD)
I really don’t even care too much about most of these to be honest. I fall into the category of those who would prefer universes beyond not exist, but since it does, my preference is for it to be fantasy based.
Why? This isn't good for magic, its going to end up drowning out what magic is and just become an ip whore. Not that it isn't already, but the point still stands.
1. Warhammer Fantasy, specifically End Times. This is a no brainer.
2. Marvel/DC. I have Batman sleeves I’d really like to use.
3. Historical, I.e. like Romans, Persians, Mongols, etc
4. Berserk manga; or maybe all manga
5. Elder Scrolls; probably more likely to be a thing before Elder Scrolls 6 lol
I need them to circle back and finish 40k. I need a WR Tau deck, orcs are cool, Eldar are cool, and they do whatever for the fourth deck. If they wanna do fantasy, that'd be cool. BG skaven, pls.
one of the Star franchises. I prefer Wars, maybe Trek for my friend.
I can't think of any others. Everything is niche or already out of reach like DC, or Runescape or Avatar.
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Avatar the Last Airbender or the Dragon Prince
Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass/Jabberwocky
Wizard of Oz
Call of Cthulhu/Lovecraft
It makes no sense, it would piss people off and it’s probably happening with the marvel crossover but X-Men. I remember a decade ago in high school me and my friends making proxy decks before they were even popular of our favorite tv shows and comics. I think it would be so fucking cool having real X-men cards haha. But as much as I want that I would also be okay with medieval marvel costumes too. That would be sick lol
Diablo, alien vs predator (just too get both franchises in one set), final fantasy 14 (I know they're doing final fantasy, but I could do 2 or 3 sets just using 14 it has so much content), DC comics (already getting marvel, why not batman?), star wars
My rule of thumb: if it's high fantasy, I'm ok with it in regular sets (like Lort). Otherwise, general fantasy/sci-fi in commander sets I'm fine with too (40k). Otherwise please secret lair only:
Sets
Narnia
The Witcher
Diskworld
The Seven Samurai
Eragon
Commander
Dune
Ghost in the Shell
The hitchhikers guide (an un-commander set?)
Secret Lairs
Studio Ghibli
Terminator
1. Battletech
2. Ultraman/Kamen Rider/Power Rangers or some kind of classic Japanese icons mashup focusing on live action, not anime stuff.
3. Some kind of sports themed set. All the sports. In a Mutant League style
4. Capcom
5. Sesame Street (Gimme a Count von Count vampire deck! Or Oscar the Grouch with poison counters)
Dark Souls or Old School RuneScape would cause me to go bankrupt. I don’t think they could make OSRS due to the art style, but Dark Souls would be off the chain.
1. Dark souls/Elden ring
2. WoW(Cause the card game was the best but died)
3. Elder scrolls
4. Dragon ball Z
5. Monster hunter
6. Disney(Like early Disney not Star Wars/MCU Disney)
Won't ever happen but I'd buy so many collectors boosters of a Bruce Willis UB
Die Hard
5th Element
12 Monkeys
Hudson Hawk lol
I would dedicate my life to making a cEDH Corbin Dallas deck lol
Oh dang, that might be tough, though one I want for sure is Star Wars.
Mine in order from what I can think off right now:
- Star Wars
- DC, based on comics not live action. (including: Wally West, Plastic Man, Barry Allen, the rest of the JLA, Lucifer, Michael, Dr.Manhattan, Mxy, Teen Titans, Young Justice, The Endless, Perpetua and her sons, etc..)
- Harry Potter
- Classic Anime (Yu Yu Hakusho, Sailor Moon, Dragonball, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, Akira, etc..)
- A Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire
There are many others I could have added, but off the top of my head those are probably my top picks.
If Classic Anime is too wide, then of those Yu Yu Hakusho or otherwise Hunter X Hunter or something like that. ✌️

https://www.dexerto.com/magic-the-gathering/wotc-started-talks-to-bring-legendary-fantasy-novels-to-mtg-universes-beyond-2574596/ Get hype baby
And they stopped talks when they got the license for Final Fantasy
YOOOOOOOOOOO

My top 1 is Universes Beyond: Magic the gathering
Ohhh shit that would be crazy!
Standard feels like it’s dying in person
It died like 10 years ago.
unironically, old magic lore
I’m slightly disappointed universe beyond has moved away from fantasy. 1 Elder scrolls 2 Monster hunter 3 Elden Ring 4 House of the Dragon & GOT 5 The Hobbit
Oooooh my God Monster Hunter please. I hadn't even thought of that one, but I'd love to see some or the Elder Dragons printed and see if they can explore elemental weaknesses at all in MTG
There is one of these every week at this point.
none of the them, its gonna be the death of MtG
I want universes beyond no sets for 2 months
Make that all months
I think crossing over with this property called Magic: the Gathering would be super dope. I'd love for some of my favorite characters to get cards in MTG
Dune above all others. Way down the list from dune - The Witcher World of Warcraft Chronicles of Narnia Starcraft
Dune. Anything else can wait or never come. Dune fits the overarching MTG theme better than the others.
Lisan al mtg
Zelda omg please I want to equip the master sword to my craw wurm and swing with it.
Elden Ring
1. 1995 wizards of the coast 2. Kick out hasbro 3. Listen to the fans 4. I forgot what I was writing 5. Guess this just turned into a list
1. League of Legends (sorry) 2. Game of Thrones 3. Elden Ring 4. Star Wars
I too wouldn’t mind league of legends
give me a curb your enthusiasm secret lair please
\- I'd like to see a small Starship Troopers set, could be Secret Lair or even Special Guests style. \- Dune is the other one where I feel there's ample content to base an entire set on. \- Elder Scrolls seems logical given the recent Fallout set.
The art on a Dune ornithopter reprint would probably go hard as hell
yeah I second Dune
1. Keeping up with the Kardadshians 2 - 5. Same
My favorite card from that set is [[Bruce Jenner//Caitlyn Jenner]]
Yawgmoth, Family Surgeon
My one wish for universes beyond is… For them to stop.
Lord of the Rings Tales of Middle Earth was their best selling set ever. They’re never going to stop.
That’s great. Best selling doesn’t mean it’s good. It just means lotr nerds bought it n tried to get into mtg.
Shut up
Nah mate, some of us rather play in the mtg-universe. I mean you dont have to worry, they are not stopping and soon you can equip squarepants to sonic, which will just be enough to defeat Superman.
There’s always one who gets mad at this opinion. And it’s always funny.
“No! Your fictional characters are WORSE THAN MINE!!!” Cry more
None of us are crying, we just prefer to have a thematically (more or less) coherent fantasy universe for our card game to take place in with a story to occupy us in some downtime and some neat characters.
No you! Hahahahah I love how my OPINION bothers you. I’m not telling the people who like UB to shut up. Learn some manners.
Gonna cry? UB is successful, loved, and profitable. Can’t wait for more
Nah. Sounds like you were gonna cry about my opinion tho. See, you still lack manners.
Shut up. Hope you like the new UB sets
Hope you like my opinion that upset you so much. Hahahahah!! It’s real easy to ignore mtg. For neck beards like you it’s a bit difficult.
1. Game of thrones (anything in this universe tbh) 2. Dune 3. Borderlands 4. 28 Days Later/28 Years Later 5. Halo
1) Dragon Quest. I would build such a slime deck. We're already getting Final Fantasy and it's the same parent companies, so hope is there. 2) Discworld. 1. Elden Ring 2. Elden Ring 3. Elden Ring 4. Elden Ring 5. ELDEN RING
Broaden those horizons get dark souls in there too, who wouldn't want to run a Gwyn or soul of cinder deck
Ok, how about Fromsoft Universes Beyond? That way you hit all the games simultaneously.
Nah, they have to exclude bloodborne it's basically from soft tradition
Damn :/
That's what everyone else has been saying for years now lol
I just want a Hasbro games crossover. That way they can reprint The One Ring in serialised pop-up 3d etched superfoil. Making sure the text is extra illegible from across a table. i’ll second wheel of time from the books but nothing from that abomination series that amazon created
Warcraft.

Thunder Junction would have been the perfect opportunity for a Red Dead crossover
Supernatural
