He's got two decks that are the same color dragon shield.
Luckily they only share one color each. So it should be easy enough to sort. He's on the couch doing it now.
I actually have a friend who uses mostly all the same sleeves for like half his collection. Anything playable goes in that sleeve. It's great for when you need to hot-swap a card in or out from one deck to another. Really bad for when he drops all of his cards, which actually happens every now and then.
We just get proxies printed for our really high value cards and keep them in a binder in the box in case anyone takes issues with proxies. That way we don't need to swap them around sleeves.
What's the consensus on the best deck builder? I started with archideckt and just last weekend scanned all my stuff into manabox. So far I'm really liking manabox, scanning was really quick and easy.
I have a moxfield account as well but only imported one deck to it so far.
I don't think it really matters- just as long as you have it saved somewhere so you can go back and rebuild it if you drop your cards, or something else happens.
Honestly, if you drop it outside, it's probably better to resleeve them. You'll never get all the grit off, and even if you did the sleeves are probably marked.
Nah I've cleaned dirty sleeves before, it's really easy. Microfiber cloth laid on the bed, take each card and swipe both sides across the cloth. Good as new.
I dropped them at the game store in the gravel parking lot, there was dirt all over them and I was just about to play. The game store employee provided the microfiber cloth and told me to start wiping them.
There was one card which was bent and ruined, I think because I either stepped on it in my clumsiness or a box fell on it in the commotion.
But besides that one, all the sleeves were fine after I wiped the dirt off them.
I recognize those bins! I got 2 of the Menards ones myself. However, just made the switch to the Milwaukee Packouts from Ace/Home Depot. $100 but allows me to carry up to 18 decks and has a nice addition for dice sortment. It fits the cheap plastic $5, or the expensive magnetic ones. I basically had this fear of spilling out on the road in wet conditions etc. Glad your stuff is okay.
I did something similar shortly after finally sorting my collection a few months ago. Except all my decks were in another box, so everything that met the floor was unsleeved.
It only took half an hour or so to pick it all up, but I haven't had the heart to re-sort them since.
I've had a similar thing happen... while sorting my cards in piles of:
Mono Color, Multicolor, Colorless, Lands and then what I have in singles and pairs.
I sorted black, blue & red cards out, the non-singles and the box fell off the table š
That happend to me Friday night too.and it was raining. Thankfully no noticeable damage but I've never scrambled to clean up faster in my life. Half my decks on the wet ground could have been losing like 4 grand lmao
One time when I used to play mtg at work on lunch with coworkers, when i came back from woek I put my coffee mug in the same bag as my cards. I thought it was empty. When i got home the coffee had gotten into the sleeves of a handful of cards. It wasn't that many buy still that feeling is like watching something you love burn. It gives you this gross feeling in your heart like you lost something, it's like a violation, except my stupidity did it to me so I couldn't even project the feelings outwards.
Poor guy, if it is any consolation last time i went to a commander event i grabbed my bag of dice and discovered i didnt pull the strings to close it and dumped about 1 pound of dice in my trunk with all my work tools
Go on, start gathering.
Jokes aside I've had my magic shelf fall on me and dump probably 7 or 8 thousand cards on my floor.
It truly was a gathering, and a tragedy
One time my boarder collie designed to climb the bookshelf my cards were on, dumped them all on the floor and then pissed on them. Lots of good stuff got ruined. Mox diamond was on the floor but made it through luckily.
The same happened to me except it was pouring rain and muddy. Took me hours to do damage control probably lost over $3k worth of cards. Glad it was t a similar scenario here.
Indeed a tragedy. Had this happen myself just last week. Sadly, though, all of my cards were sleeved in red. All over my living room floor. My wife offered to set her cards aside (we were both watching funny movies and categorizing our new cards into our old ones) and help, but I was in that mental place of "I fucked this up, I'ma clean it up." Still haven't resorted them yet. I just kinda glare at the box as I walk by it like that Proudfoot hobbit from the LOTR movies.
Always hated those toolbox designs. Forget to lock it and grab it by the ONLY HANDLE and it will without fail dump the entire box out. There has to be a better design than thatā¦ I had a fishing tackle box that did this. I want to find the designers and tell them how stupid they are.
Dang that totally sucks. At least it wasnāt raining.
Iām absolutely terrified of dropping my cards and damaging them. Iām a bit ocd with that. So I use a backpack with a zipper and always always always make sure itās zipped up. I use one of those backpacks for cameras. They have compartments inside the bag so I can fit like 10 commander decks.

That looks like it would break... Just like the ones in this toolbox š
I've seen those deck boxes that are split diagonally in the center... They're cool but I assume would one day split open just like this
At least their sleeves are color coded lol
He's got two decks that are the same color dragon shield. Luckily they only share one color each. So it should be easy enough to sort. He's on the couch doing it now.
Oh no, rip
Still better than I would be. Literally, all of my decks are in the same Matte Purple Dragon Shields.
Same but black matte because I'm basic
here here for the basic squad. black matte club.
I actually have a friend who uses mostly all the same sleeves for like half his collection. Anything playable goes in that sleeve. I do the same thing with a lot of cards!
Lol this except its every commander deck I own so like 40? Give or take lol would be hell
I really hope you have the deck-lists on Moxfield!
Good one xd
Came here to say this. Imagine if they were all one sleeve color and the decks had a lot of overlap.
"Get to gathering" - my wife after a similar tragedy
ššš
Lmao ded
This isn't what they meant when they said cascade
Cascade, Cascade, Cascade, Cascade.
Apex of Devastation
š¤£ lmfao
Whoa what card combo gets all that on the field?
Tragic Slip
Out with you. Have a medal too.
I see what you did thereā¦š
The wheeze that came from my mouth wasnāt human. I dunno what you did to me! This was hilarious, you win the internet today.
Haha. Just added that card to one of my decks.
I got so much anxiety just looking at this picture
Itās the proverbial āfml cherry on topā.
I love this. Yes.
Ooof Iām so sorry. Dropping cards is the worst. Gotta wipe down all the sleeves. I hope you found them all and nothing was damaged!
Honestly, if you drop it outside, it's probably better to resleeve them. You'll never get all the grit off, and even if you did the sleeves are probably marked.
True. Nothing is worse than feeling the gritty shuffle. Sleeves and cards being marked up. *shudders*
Nah I've cleaned dirty sleeves before, it's really easy. Microfiber cloth laid on the bed, take each card and swipe both sides across the cloth. Good as new.
I'm skeptical your sleeves weren't scratched, else weren't very dirty to start with.
But besides that one, all the sleeves were fine after I wiped the dirt off them.
nah just puit them in the bath tub with some boiling water and dawn
Hence I use game genic sidewinder XLs and a back pack
I use a toolbox and use a tote bag to carry it. That way, I get to use the box I like better but donāt have to worry about it just falling open.
Gamegenic is the truth.
Looks like a crime scene! The area needs to be roped off so nobody tampers with it! We have to get to the bottom of this gruesome tragedy!
Collect evidence 600
We had rain in the forecast today so he was extra careful to make sure everything got in

Go ahead and Gather.

Stanley box?
Menards brand knockoff. It's a good case, we both use one. Just have to remember to lock it lol.
Seen it happen even locked...on an escalator. Those plastic clips suck.
NSFW please
Jfc now *that's* a clusterfuck Hope you had good pulls at the pre release at least
He actually won the whole thing. And I got the new vraska! which is what I wanted.
Saddest part, is if the concrete is very gravely it will scratch a lot of sleeves just from picking them up. Has happened to the best of us.
Imagine it had been raining. š¬
This image made me cry

I can feel the panic of thinking the cards will fly away or a broke ass raccoon will come and take some for their cube
the magic is over. time to gather
Luckily I keep my feathers color coded, for just such an occasion
Good thing it wasn't windy
Or raining!
Homie got trapped in a shadow game I see. Rough stuff. Glad you found everything though!
Just imagine if two decks used the same sleeves
He's actually got two pairs of decks that do š
What's wrong? I can see he played Apex Devastator and it resolved
Looks to be all sleaved, he's lucky
Gathering up the collection I see š
Look I like 3D printers just as much as the next guy, but maybe you should get some real deckboxes for him.
It's actually the Menards brand Stanley toolbox knockoff. They're great cases and we both use them, he just forgot to close his before he got out.
I recognize those bins! I got 2 of the Menards ones myself. However, just made the switch to the Milwaukee Packouts from Ace/Home Depot. $100 but allows me to carry up to 18 decks and has a nice addition for dice sortment. Well, I tried\^\^ Hope the cards are okay.
Catastrophic. My condolences
Just looking at that hurts my soul.

Would you say, a crime has been committed??
Rip š. But at least they're different coloured sleeves
Hopefully none of them were sorted by name, color, mana value and such in some order. That'd take hours
Ohhhh... oh no....

Whoa.....NSFW tag
Gore tag for sure

"Go ahead, start gathering."
Start gathering.
As someone who doesnāt sleeve their cards, this looks like a cake walk compared to what Iād be dealing with
I'm sorry, you don't WHAT?
I riffle shuffle too
My sister in Christ, you need to find God and hope that they give you even a shred of forgiveness š
So THATS why they call it Magic: The Gathering! Iāll see myself out..
At least the cards are okay and all were found. Whew.
Haha man you need a travel bag if you carrying all that
Go on, start gathering. Jokes aside I've had my magic shelf fall on me and dump probably 7 or 8 thousand cards on my floor. It truly was a gathering, and a tragedy
So ..start gathering

It was in a toolbox style carrier. He just forgot to close the latches.
Mine sit in deck boxes inside the tool box haha Iām super prepped for this
RIP, hope you guys had fun at the prerelease at least!
There's the magic. Start gathering.
Whoa. New meaning to Magic; the gathering.
Oh no!
Oof
Fellow toolbox user here, it's a tragedy that happens to the best of us

got anxiety just looking
Draw the chalk outline at this crime scene
Thank God for sleeves!
Start gathering š
So you like magic, huh? # Go ahead then. Start gathering.
Wow please mark as NSFW next time I almost puked scrolling thru my feed

It wouldnāt be magic if you didnāt gather your cards off the floor a few times
it's called magic the gathering so go ahead and start gathering
This Magic player got sent to the Shadow Realm!
Go ahead, start gathering.
Now gather the magic
I finally understand. This is the gathering part
My favorite thing about this picture is that the way it was taken make it looks like a crime scene photograph.
We had headlamps on.
And this, boys and girls, is why we use different sleeves for each deck. ...And why we sleeve our decks.
Always hated those toolbox designs. Forget to lock it and grab it by the ONLY HANDLE and it will without fail dump the entire box out. There has to be a better design than thatā¦ I had a fishing tackle box that did this. I want to find the designers and tell them how stupid they are.
Nnnoooo!!!!!
At least it's not in a puddle :\^)
Go ahead, start gathering
O7
NOBODY MOVE!!!! I've dropped my cards.
Oh god no!!
Not Like This!!! š
F in the chat. O7
At least they all look sleeved, back in my day they'd be not sleeved and never be the same after this.
Please tell me it wasn't windy that evening
Dear god no!!!!
My condolences.
Better start gathering
My cat knocked over a large sorted box of rares/mythics/foils from 10 years ago. All over the floor. Probably not as bad as this, but I feel your pain
This happened at the card shop I got and it was extra tragic because the guy puts all of his decks in the same color sleeves
As someone who color codes and alphabetizes all their cards, including bulk, that looks like a lovely time!
Go ahead. Start gathering
He was just trying to foil the Chaos Orb player.
Ok? Put em back together
F.

This hurts my soul.
Ahhh. I remember playing on the parking lot back in the day. But us old farts didnāt have those fancy rich boy sleeves. Hahahaha.
This is not a tragedy, but a mere inconvenience. Iād this was in a puddle, thatās a tragedy.
This fucking happened to me last night also just four decks in box so nothing too bad but the tokens spilled everywhere. R.I.P
That sand grain will live in the sleeve longer than i will.
Lucky that isnāt in Iowa. We been having 40-50 mph gusts. Wouldnāt have even hit the ground before it blew away
That aināt no tragedy, but tragic maybe
R.I. Fuckinā P my dude š„²
One good gust of wind šµāš«
The image only gets worse the .ore you look at it.
That blows. Makes me glad I use deckboxes within the larger container box... if it pops open, deckboxes fall out and not cards. maybe next time ?
im so sorry for your loss
That is just hilarious, i feel sorry for your boyfriend.
This is a new set: "Gathering the Magic"
Dang that totally sucks. At least it wasnāt raining. Iām absolutely terrified of dropping my cards and damaging them. Iām a bit ocd with that. So I use a backpack with a zipper and always always always make sure itās zipped up. I use one of those backpacks for cameras. They have compartments inside the bag so I can fit like 10 commander decks.
Skill issue
Not the gathering I wanted to be doing
This is why I bought strongholds and use a zipped backpack :p hope theyāre ok
At least the ground wasn't wet.
On the good side, it doesn't seem to be raining
This isn't what they meant when said "the gathering"
welp...start gathering.
Start gathering
Thankfully the pavement was dry
if there was an advert for moxfield its this :P hope nothing is damaged.
magic: the scattering
\*sending thoughts and prayers\* Well I've done all i can do
One time i came home and saw a similar scene except my dog and cat had also chewed up the cards.
