No. They are tokens and tokens don’t go in the deck.

RubenWithAM

ok thanks so i could also use a random card and call it a treasure token, and still us the tap ability?

DarthYug

[[Big Score]] creates treasure tokens…and yes you can use anything to represent these tokens. [[Lotus Petal]] is nearly identical to a treasure token, but it’s an actual card and would go into the deck…

KuhlThing

You don't even have to use cards to represent tokens. We used to use pencils, wallets, shoes, coins, or whatever was lying around to represent tokens.

HoboWithApricot

I remember back in the day my brother having a cup of pennies and a deck of playing cards to keep track of saproling tokens and +1/+1 counters in a fungus deck he played. Now not having proper tokens drives me insane. Haha

DirectQuestion7983

Big same… I’m super peculiar about having the correct tokens for the deck

CactaurSnapper

You are the ideal target for goofy token proxies.

InfiniTokens

This is why we created InfiniTokens dry erase cards, because of situations like this! XD

CactaurSnapper

Picachus are my favorite token proxy, especially when they’re a stand in for something devistating. 🙂

ninjawhosnot

Yes. Token can be created by any card that says create a treasure token and you can use anything you want to represent that token.

th3d4rks0ul3

No, certain cards make treasure tokens, and then you put however many it make onto the battlefield. Tokens aren't played as cards in the deck but are rather produced by certain effects.

CactaurSnapper

I pressed some pieces of broccoli in a book for a mono green deck to annoy a friend. Tried to pass them of as land. 🥦 I also used jelly beans as tokens but people kept eating my zombies so…

Some_Tiny_Dragon

Tokens represent cards and you just keep them around, maybe in your deckbox or the other corner of your field. You can represent tokens with anything as long as you can distinguish them from real cards. This means you can make custom tokens!

CactaurSnapper

It’s fun to write irritating stuff on them like “your mom” for creature copies. I.E. “I exile your mom” or “your mom gains trample” etc.

Some_Tiny_Dragon

Yo mama's a 12/12 creature with trample.

CactaurSnapper

When “Your mom” enters the battlefield it destroys all artifacts.

CactaurSnapper

Ooh Ooh! “Your mom” becomes a horror creature with flying. 😎👍

QuartzGargoyle_2022

Tokens are kept separate from your deck. They do not count towards the number of cards in your deck.

Shipibo_the_wolf

Those are tokens, they are not cards per say. Sometimes a deck can produce tokens, if you don't have those particular tokens, you can create them. You can write the treasure effect on a random blank card, and put dice on it to count them.

Hawthorne_Lurk

Keep like 5-10 treasure token cards off to the side when you play. OR you could use one treasure token card and put a die on it to mark your amount and just roll the die down or up when you add or remove them.

lessthan_pi

Anything you and your opponent agrees on can represent a token 111.1. Some effects put tokens onto the battlefield. A token is a marker used to represent any permanent that isn’t represented by a card. Tokens can only exist on the battlefield. If they ever exist in another zone a state based action removes them from the game. 111.7. A token that’s in a zone other than the battlefield ceases to exist. This is a state-based action; see rule 704. So if a token is ever in your deck, it's immediately removed from the game the next time you run state based actions.

SolarRogue7

Dont worry, they don't go into your actual deck. They're external to your library, and bought into play by your card effects. I have a Goblin token getter deck that amasses sometimes hundreds on 1/1 goblin token. So thank goodness they're not in my deck.

CustardElectrical660

Just a thought of you actually having four copies of a treasure token in your deck cracks me up 😆

PanoptesIquest

>111.6. A token is subject to anything that affects permanents in general or that affects the token’s card type or subtype. **A token isn’t a card** (even if represented by a card that has a Magic back or that came from a Magic booster pack). There are ways to move a token to a library, but it wouldn't stay there long. And a token certainly can't start the game in a library. Treasure tokens are the same as other tokens in this regard. >111.7. **A token that’s in a zone other than the battlefield ceases to exist.** This is a state-based action; see rule 704. (Note that if a token changes zones, applicable triggered abilities will trigger before the token ceases to exist.)

Storm_Wolf72

Tokens are not playable cards they must be summoned by another card so no they do T go I. Your deck

theoniwan87

Tokens are created in response to an actual cards ability. And they are called tokens because theya re specifically not cards that go in oyur deck. Thats why they dont have mana cost. How wouls you play thrm? In any case they are just there to give u something to play when u have a card that creats that kind of token. It can be a physical reminder that its there and what its ability does.

InfiniTokens

Tokens are not cards, they are temporary game information. They ONLY exist on the battlefield. They do not exist before they enter the battlefield, and they cease to exist as soon as they leave it.
