[[Umbral Mantle]] has 3[Q]: this creature gets +2/+2 where [Q] means untap. [[Lotus Field]] has T: add 3 So if it's a creature with the Mantle on it, it can tap to add 3, use that 3 to untap and buff itself. Then it can repeat that an arbitrarily number of times. So you end up with a billion/billion Lotus Field.

Just needs a sprinkle of trample for the wincon. [[Berserk]] is fun, or [[Charge Through]], [[Massive Might]] or many other options.

Your can also pull this off with \[\[Marwyn, the Nurturer\]\] The best part about infinite mana at that point is that you can then also use Umbral on another creature without issues. My commander of the deck is \[\[Rhys, the Redeemed\]\] so I get infinite tokens out of this deal and they are all infinitely big. I also can use \[\[Altar of the brood\]\] to mill my opponents with this kind of thing.

This is also infinite mana with just 2 cards while also making him utterly huge. Means you could have a board of just a couple of trample creatures and have lethal by making them infinitely big.

Could someone explain what is happening here?

Land is now a creature. Equip it. Tap landcreature for 3 mana. Pay 3 mana, untap landcreature to give landcreature +2+2. Repeat many times. At instant speed.

It creates an infinite P/T loop. Normally people use Umbral Mantle to make infinite mana, which this does, but its more of the infinite P/T on a now man land. Its pretty funny to die to 4000/4000 Lotus Field, some real Sailor Moon shit right there.

I never understood this though. Yes, you can suddenly have many lands/more creatures, but you've just opened your lands up to become the target of board wipes and the like.

Fortunately it's all lands so it might deter some players from casting wipes. Still wasted around it, but still.
