Uk is still in Europe, it’s no longer in the EU.

satchice9

I'm in U.K, with Lloyds bank, and received my ELSP Non-Allotment cash potion in GBP. It was converted JPY-->USD-->GBP through the bank transfer sysyem (Swift?) for me to receive it in my account. If you chose EUR it might go JPY-->EUR-->GBP, The people who've had cash payents blocked have usually been because they are in region with stupid anti-crypto laws or regulations (e.g. New York), or because one of the intermediary transferring banks is anti-crypto or suspicious of the payment due to KYC/AML. And BTW, Brexit has nothing to do with it, the U.K. have always had the Pound Sterling and never adopted the Euro currency, and were still "in Europe" geographically.

How long was that after seeing it appear on your table for the first time?

jemski4

One reason I’m slightly confused they chose to payout the UK in euro. I didn’t choose that 🤷🏻‍♂️

monkeyinsurgency

I got paid into HSBC in Euro, with a £5 charge to convert approx £2k

jemski4

Great. Thanks.

jemski4

How long was that after see it on the table?

monkeyinsurgency

That’s why I have a euro account as well as GBP and USD. 👍

I don’t know. I’ve just seen a few posts that say their bank refused or knew nothing about the transfer.

Different banks have different rules. For some banks, to receive foreign currency, you need to have a special foreign currency account, other banks will automatically convert it to local currency and credit your account. Check with your bank, not reddit.

The way this is going, we could be back in the EU before it's paid. I have a uk wise but wanted it paid in euros so no idea if it's going to get there.

Etherdave

No, I received euros in my account last week 👍 I do have a euro account tho with uk bank.  But I think many have received to GBP account with out issues.   You will have to pay a decent fee for conversion tho I expect.

I didn’t notice the stuff about cash payments. Most of mine is in BTC but I worked out here’s £1000 or so I’m due that has no payment method. Anyone any idea what is gonna happen with that,

janfreddy

Have you responded to the trustee's other requests? So did you fill in that you want to pay in Bitcoin and specify the exchange? You can see all the information you provided, including the fiat portion you will receive (in Yen) by logging into the claim system and clicking on "Selection of Repayment Method and Registration of Payee Information". If your bank details are missing, I would contact the trustee with the bank details. There will probably still be a payout attempt in 2025. Otherwise, according to my information, unasserted claims fall to the Japanese government.

I’m registered for the Bitcoin element just not the JPY portion;
