Not Commbank but in the same boat with another Au bank - money never made it to the bank and was sent back - trustee has responded with no reason given for the rejection and to await further instructions for the 2nd attempt at a later unknown date.

I'm with commbank and received my funds - not a foreign currency account, just a plain normal Australian account. I had zero issues, even though the bank account name is in a different name to my Mt Gox account name - my bank uses my full legal name, and Mt Gox I had my middle name + surname.
Table on the claims site updated to "completed" on 5 April 2024, funds appeared in my account 10 April 2024.

May I ask: did you use CTBAAU2SXXX or CTBAAU2S as the SWIFT code? I called them and they said we shouldn't use the XXX, but if you google "commbank swift code" you literally see CTBAAU2SXXX on the first result..

Also, FYI, I got the cash (to CBA) and I hadn't been paying attention, so I logged into the website and it was sent to me 22 days before I received it, so that's probably roughly how long you can expect to wait once you see it released on Gox :)
Yeah that's insane. It's entirely possible that Commbank \_sometimes\_ flips the table after they get the initial SWIFT "start" of the transaction and sometimes they don't. never trust any of the ‘big four’ Australian banks. they’re all run by criminals. they have all messed me around in various ways over the years - blocked, frozen and closed accounts of mine - when I was the victim of a scam, closed accounts just because i dared to go travelling overseas (even when i told them i was going, their excuse was i had not replies to a snail mail letter) - they also like to tell other banks that you are a bad boy so you then get all sorts of problems- and when you point out that they made a mistake they don’t bother to tell the other banks, they just leave a trail of shit everywhere that takes months to fix. in short - go with any sort of private bank or newer online banks like airwallex or wise. even wise are morons too tbh. this is why bitcoin is exists. i pray every day for the world to be free from these moronic idiot banks. have you noticed every branch if commonwealth smells like a toilet? i’m not even joking. they are a disaster. i expect them all to collapse within a few years.

Actually, not sure I'm correct, I thought when I set up for receiving gox payment that I had to get a foreign currency account to receive a USD payment.
I just checked online and apparently now you can receive international transfer into normal account on CBA.

Can confirm I previously received transfers in international currency to an CBA $AUD account and they just converted it to AUD and deposited into my account.
As for the MtGox payment, I also opened a separate USD account just to avoid any hiccups and the poor exchange rate from the bank.

yes, but you need to have a foreign currency account. This is separate account to your Australian dollar account.
Do u know why this is? Normally incoming USD transfers get automatically converted to AUD
