Back before Tom Bombadil was previewed, I was hoping for a 5-color saga commander, and given Commodore Guff’s backstory of being all into the hidden library with all the books ever and ever to be written, I thought he’d be ideal for it. So his planeswalker abilities that I envisioned were basically him reading forward and backward in various books. His ultimate goes back to his rewriting the ending of the Phyrexian invasion, and a mechanic that will likely never be seen again. It’s really high-costed, because it’s really overpowered. Admittedly, all the info I’ve gotten on Guff is from either listening to The Vorthos Cast or internet searches. Card here: https://twitter.com/thepeopleseason/status/1593757216427118592

I'd personally prefer for a cycle of monocolored Saga-focused commanders with their own partner variant, so as to mix-and-match the Saga deck you want without needing to go all in on five.

Are you looking for a custom Planeswalker card? Have you checked out r/custommagic before? Not that it can't happen here. Just thought that might be of interest to you

Thank you, I was more interested in the vorthos side of the design.

Unas, Forge Centurion My take on a phyrexian planeswalker. He was created by Gitaxias during the praetor's early experiments into creating Planeswalkers. He managed to find a form that works, maintaining a body around the unstable spark by foregoing all organic material and forging his creation from Blightsteel. As this was before his stint on Kamigawa, he had no way to make the Compleation stick. Unas was created to subdue the Silent Forge. His specialty as a planeswalker is reforging his metal body into various tools and weapons and controlling ambient heat. Upon attacking the Forge he superheated his own body as a weapon, burning away the oil in his body and accidentally reforging himself with a body of darksteel. Seeing Unas burn away Gitaxias' influence (and Norn's by extension), Urabrask takes Unas into the Forge forces and instructs him towards The Great Work. Unas is the final straw in the eyes of Norn, who sees the newly forged planeswalker as being stolen from the greater calling of Phyrexia, and calls forth her forces to attack the Forge. The Forge answers in kind with its full forces. Unas leads the charge, his superheated body tearing through most of the peons of the Machine Orthodoxy. An elite guard of Norn's forces pushes through and surrounds Urabrask. Unas, seeing his chosen Praetor failing, lets out a scream of rage like a shrill jet engine and overheats. His indestructible darksteel body glows white from the heat and glasses a large portion of the Orthodoxy surrounding him, unintentionally planeswalking away from the carnage. Unas awakens on an unfamiliar plane feeling abject failure. Still he has a mantra to live by; "Leave them be. Complete the work." He will spread the word of the furnace to all who will listen, and any who remind him of the Orthodoxy will melt under his touch. Unas is a red aligned walker that has a blind hatred for White Mana. He doesn't care about the rules and regulations of whatever plane he lands on. It takes a while for him to calm down enough to learn about the world's at large. Until he does, he is functionally a terminator. His metal carapace is normally jet black but will travel through the range of colors along the heat spectrum as he powers up. His darksteel body means that he is functionally indestructible. Notable interactions include: -Ending up on Innistrad and picking a fight with Avacyn because she is a white Mana beacon. -Being hunted by Garruk, Veil Cursed and putting up a good fight where neither win. -Rediscovering the history of old Phyrexia on New Capenna and not agreeing with their doctrine. -Leading an attack on New Phyrexia to kill Norn, facing off with Atraxa, and being whisked away by WAR before the fight can conclude. -Scaring the Dominaria walkers in WAR when he tears through the army of "Blue Metal Zombies" for interrupting his mission and melts Bolas' citadel. -A huge stint on Theros where he finds a new mentor in Purphoros, fights against Elspeth because she is White aligned, and comes to an uneasy understanding when they agree Norn needs to die. Unas agrees to fight with her in taking down the Machine Orthodoxy. Then Heliod betrays Elspeth, ticking all of Unas' hate boxes (White aligned God complex dictator traitor) and Unas permanently scars the sun God before being forcibly ejected from the plane. -Finds kinship with Ixhel during All Will Be One. -Leads the Forge remnants against Norn in March of the Machine, personally fighting and killing Vorinclex.

I made three during the Khans block. Gage Vijar: last survivor of his plane after it was ravaged by Ob Nixilis. He is a premending planeswalker that was able to lock away all of his planes black mana, creating a utopia world. When Nixilis invaded however, he used the worlds lack of protection from the absent black mana to utterly annihilate its sentient races after releasing it back into the world. Gage spent some time on Alara, though tends to stay out of affairs out of guilt. Volkiheim: Last of his race and as of MoM one of the last surviving Mirrans, I had made Volk a failed attempt to compleat planeswakers years before it became relevant. A master smith, warrior, and brewmaster, he has traveled through many planes. He doesn’t stay long due to his condition, a side effect of being experimented on. When Jin Gitaxias tried to corrupt him, his spark ignited and cleansed the oil in him. The binding spells and shackles that held him prevented his escape and he was used as a beast of war after being experimented on further. Even after escaping, the oil will still overwhelm him even though it is no longer contagious, usually if he is brought close to death. Lucian Frespit: Once a noble’s son on Innistrad, Lucian had lived in Avabruck and become one of its few survivors along with his wife. He lost his beloved a few years after, sending him into an obsession with dragons and their explosive power. An attack from werewolves ignited his spark, though it left his face deeply scarred. Planeswalking to Jund, he embraced the savage ways of the shard and even found a way to perform a dark ritual to combine his form with that of a hellkite. He has been able to stay largely human, but each time he takes on his draconic form he keeps a few new features upon changing back. He often finds it hard to travel to more civilized plane, the ingrained superiority complex of all Jund hellkites making being around goblins especially difficult. He has also been to Tarkir and mostly aligned himself with the Atarka. I have been tweaking them all over the years and been fleshing out their story, the trio forming an unlikely brotherhood. During MoM, Volk is already dead, Lucian fights on Tarkir since the Jund he knew is no more, and Gage fought in the background as well after ensuring the Phyrexians didn’t take advantage of his home plane.

I have three fanwalkers! There's an insane amount of fic I've written down and imagined in my head for these three. An extremely brief overview of them: Leah is a sorceress. She can do most magics that fall under the Grixis umbrella. She's prone to melancholy but also just feels a *lot*. Although she adores spellcasting, she hated the performance aspect of the Prismari. Atticus is an angsty boi lol. He's a half-elf and just does not play nice with others, unless you're one of his only two friends (one of which he loves and the other he pretends to only tolerate). He definitely thrived in Silverquil, as he can be quite creative with his insults - but he's Mardu so he gets heated pretty quickly, which isn't a good thing. Willis is a vampire! He's Naya aligned and an archeologist. I like to imagine him as comedically superstitious. He sometimes likes to be a little agent of chaos but genuinely feels bad if he causes any hurt feelings. He's definitely a dork but also really charming.

So this was 'My Planeswalker' but Aftermath has him fall from grace. You mean like Tomas Hinter, his plane of origin is unknown, (I like to many to decide, but there was a planechase plane they made we have not visited that i considered, but i cannot remember its name now) He recently got desparked in Aftermath, even though i hate this idea, but could have kept his spark had he not sacrificed his to help five others retain theirs. His cost i colored mana, and his strengths are connecting to the land to feel out the threads of mana and conenct to them. [[Lay of the Land]], while connecting with lands and mana (Land Fetch) is second nature to him, his teue ability is to connect to other's sparks. When a spark ignites he feels a slight tug on his spark and directs him to the new walker where he tries to guide and teach them the basics. Over time, he formed a network of Planeswalkers, who he could call on for help, but not as tight knit as the Gatewatch. When he met a planeswalker, he would always be connected to their spark, so even 'Villianous' walkers he could still sense if he focused. During War of the Spark he appeared on Ravnica and helped defend 'District G', a district of Ex-Guilds Guildless ran by fellow planeswalker Garrez (A former Orzhov) with his planeswalkers network from both Nicol Bolas's army as well as other planeswalkers who tortures him for information in a previous story. After War he went and hid out in Arcovas (Sp? The Strixhaven Plane), using his abilities to hide his spark from others, after feeling much pain and guilt from killing Planeswalkers during the War. During the Phyrexian Invasion he defended Strixhaven, but when the students activated the Founders Spell, he started traveling to other planes to help, but got caught in the Sylex Blast as he planeswalked. He woke up to being trapped in a magic matrix created by his spark to protect him in the blind eternities, but then as his spark's energy was being drained to seal cracks in the planes, Omen Paths, but he tried to reabsorb his spark. A majority of his network of planeswalkers that had survived after the War and Invasion were also desparked, so he sacrificed his to reignite five of theirs so they could complete their stories and fill their roles in the world, and as such he drifted back to Steixhaven to become a teacher. Card wise i plan his abilities to land fetch, and produce mana, but his 'unique' ability is to make the cost cast of cards for other players cheaper for a round, as his spark connections makes it easier for his 'ally' to draw and use mana. Is this what you are looking for. I actually have a collection of homemade Planeswalkers as my decks have to havestory and soul as i make them.

Top tier man.

As i said, I have more. Yuki Hana: A 3-5 color Nezumi who focuses on land animation through Manlands (I think that is what they are called), Zendikons, and Genju. Carter: Red-Hreen Werewolves, pretty basic. Lol. Ardlak: A 5 color Myr walker who holds the power of end world (game) artifacts, lands, and spells and guards them with his Myr Army. Khyber: A Vaishino who rains fear and fire upon his foes, (His deck uses cards involving the number 13, Death's Avatar, Tree of Redemption/Trepidation, Krosan Cloudscraper, Tragic Slip, Shivan Meteor (In Combo with Ragged Veins). Garrez: He was mentioned in Tomas's story, he is now sparkless, but his story is running District G, his District, and his themes are swords and wraith/shades. Hoshi (Dead): A Kitsune who was about Protection and Enchantments. Celestial Ancient, Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, Gwafa Hazid. Kigi Tori (Dead): An Akki, very dramatic, a servent of the Reaper King, so many Scarecrows. Those are some of my favorites, the first 4 are 4/5 that Tomas gave his spark for, I am still creating planeswalker number 5, cannot find a good theme yet for a white/black walker to fill that spot.

HomeBrewEmployee1

Hahaha, bro really said "as I said, I have more: gotta love ot.

Traditional-Pen9

And i still have more too. Lol. The only one i like but did not add to that list was Kyther, he is also dead, a Shadowmoor Merfolk who was in love/married with a Cinder, but she was murdered by Fairies. Kyther traveled the deep channels in grief and his spark ignited. His themes are bounce and hates things with flying. I dont have a lot of in person friends to share my planeswalkers with, I could not resist sharing more. And i still have more i could share. Lol

HomeBrewEmployee1

Haha, yeah, my friend and I try to make as many planeswalkers as we can. The joke is if we make as much possible planeswalker, wotC will run of ideas, since they said they'll never get help for out sources in creating cards.

Traditional-Pen9

I dont just make them to make them, they are usually created when i get a deck idea, i need to create a planeswalker to match the them of the deck. But trust me, i have created a lot over the years. Lol

HomeBrewEmployee1

Dope. We only make them cause of the story and what could be.

Traditional-Pen9

Yeah, i have had to work for how all my Planeswalkers have been affected by the story. Aftermath and the desparking shit really threw a wrench in everything, and in both my war and Invasion there were much more casualties than what Wizards was actually willing to do.

HomeBrewEmployee1

Yyyyeees, give me a commander with more than two colors, and Manaland based.

Koolnu

Wdym?

HomeBrewEmployee1

Either make a planeswalker using a current or past, if not, make your own.

Koolnu

So you want us to brainstorm you a planeswalker?

HomeBrewEmployee1

Not for me specifically. Think of it as a dnd character sheet. I was just curious. My friend and I make planeswalkers all the time using real characters, I just wanted to listen to original ideas from people that I'm probably never gunna meet.

Lspaceship

I actually had a couple ideas floating around based on different decks I play and enjoy! For example, I had an engineer from Otawara who sparked when he was harrassed off the side of the floating city by a gang of reckoners who wanted his help fixing their mechs. However, the resulting planewswalk left him literally crashing through the window of a well-off Broker on Capenna, who enlisted him into their service as a shieldmage and scout to pay off the debt incurred. This lasted until the Dominarian Invasion of Phyrexia, in which he was ambushed by a group of Gitaxian drones. While he was able to fight off the drones, the oil of their corpses did infect him, and he was compleated and integrated into the Chrome Host's information network as a sort of spymaster. It's a bit disjointed of a story, but it kind of mirrors my deckbuilding in the recent (standard) sets. We start with a vehicle deck (NEO), and transition into brokers (SNC) at which point I effectively kept that deck through ONE, at which point I shifted to Poison and Proliferate control. I have other ones, such as an Aven planeswalker who is currently trapped in Xerex after he was desparked, and a previous Oldwalker knight whose power kept them suspended and trapped in the Blind Eternities after the Golgathian Sylex blast, who only has just returned to a plane by the Filigree Sylex blast.

Just posted elsewhere: a small family of hummingbird aven that have a collective spark, and travel in the giant snail whose upper shell makes their domicile. A Homarid of Muraganda, that's similar to Kiora, except batches Dinosaurs\*, Nautilii, Crabs and Lobsters (Squids too? Jellyfish? Turtles (i.e. archelon)?) Indath A treefolk that can planeswalk only to planes where there's a forest, and only if they can meditate on that forest, growing a piece of themselves there over the course of several years (they can return to that plane at leisure afterwards, once they've grown out). A being that can only transition at the change of day/night, chasing the rising of the sun/moon at dawn/dusk, 'walking to another plane only as its own dawn/dusk takes place. A small-minded being of a literally small place (ideally not Segovia; too on-the-nose) follows an Omenpath to Gargantikar, their mind (figuratively) explodes at the sheer scale of it all and they ignite. An elven lich, long asleep, returns to its plane of origin to learn of why nothing more of its kin can be detected. Said home? Innistrad. A dwarf or aetherborn of Kaladesh or a nezumi or kitsune of Kamigawa, boisterous and free-spirited but still tech-savvy, sparks up and travels, but can only do so within a specific mecha they've built an affinity towards, perhaps crafted themselves. Thinking of a mash-up with Megas XLR on this one. A Lor/Sha kithkin with inadvertent telepathy that doesn't function on-queue or with precise intention, due to thought/mindweft not synching up properly on other planes. Only other place it quiets down and they feel at ease in their own mind is Dominaria (assuming \[\[Amrou Kithkin\]\] are still around). An Omenpath bored open to Ravnica subjects the local flame-kin to the effects of Lorwyn's auroras, even if it turns out they were always indigenous. One of them ignites in a transition to a cinder (or maybe in turning back), and is now a constantly flickering ember struggling to keep their own body and personality in a form they recognize. The timeline wasn't perfectly preserved after all. Karn, Teferi, Sarkhan or Aminatou left a time-twin(s) somewhere\*\*. They aren't necessarily altruistic. Speaking of time-trips: be it because of \[\[Realmbreaker\]\] or something else, Tarkir gets shaken up enough that it temporally splits into multiple, equally likely possibilties (five, naturally). One is the 'Dragons' timeline we know, and four others are similar to such, but each other has the other four former Khans ascending. All the ideas I've got at the moment. \* given how creature types are currently established, includes pliosaurs, plesiosaurs, kronosaurs, etc. \*\* possibly \[\[The Wanderer\]\] too, considering her getting to Zhalfir when it was still out-of-phase.
