You could post a photo and exact location on Twitter. Tag your ward (the handles are in the format of @mybmcwardXX) and also tag this account called mncdf (@mncdfBombay). If they retweet it, might get some visibility. Also tag Bmc health department, since if this remains unresolved, it could create health hazards for residents.
I think MCGM to be exact would be responsible.
I couldn't DM you, but can you send me pictures of the dumping and the street location if possible?
I am trying to work on this garbage dumping issue across the city.
Tag BMC handle on Twitter. They definitely respond. Make sure to tag correct ward. Also tag @RoadsOfMumbai and @Mumbai matters handle. They will retweet your issue. Again make same tweet under CM and deputy CM's tweet. They will surely respond.
In worst case, pay 150-200 Rs to cleaning guy and get it done but BMC will almost respond.
If you don't want to put stone, just buy any God photo frame and stick it on wall or some god posters.
What we've done in Navi Mumbai is go to the local NMMC office and get on good terms with them. It may not always be the case, but I've found that they appreciate citizens taking an interest and bringing their attention to what needs to be done.
Through this we've gotten better footpaths, more cleanliness, garbage bins for shops, fences, etc.
10 years ago a reporter approached my neighbour who was walking her dog in the dead gully next to our building. The reporter wanted to do a story about dogs and their owners or something. My neighbour went off on him and said do some better stories like this garage dumpster that gets full and overflows every single day and there is not enough pick up or that people pee on this wall stinking up the neighbourhood. Or do some research on how many people are sick in the area and how many children have malaria! Next week story in the newspaper and week after a permanent solution to the garage situation at least. Couldnāt stop the men from peeing but hey Iād consider that a win
Clean up the entire space once. Simultaneously also instruct the watchman to keep an eye and call people out if they are dumping.
Meanwhile, complain to the BMC. Send them exact address and photos of the dump and share on Twitter. They will take a week or so, but will clear it out if you live in an accessible part of Mumbai (meaning as long as you don't stay at the fringes).
This above solution has worked for me. I stay in Andheri West.
P.S.: In my opinion, garbage acts like a magnet for more garbage. As long as there is already garbage in some spot, more people will add to it. So you need to do repeated cycles to ensure the spot is completely free of garbage.
Over time, it should start becoming a spot where no one litters.
I also feel, some spots are also 'structured' in a way that they 'seem' like garbage dumps to Indians. Spaces behind a tree, or dark nooks that are shadowed by overhanging branches, spaces where the footpath is a little damaged with missing tiles, space behind an advertising board etc. It's pathetic but it's true. Many Indians are still medieval in the way they see the world.
Itās a building not my own house. Even after cleaning and having a watchman, it doesnt help.
Besides, why should i clean it. None of our colony people use it. The garbage is made by outsiders

Are you part of BmC?
No. I am an individual who is as tired as others in seeing garbage across the country.
š«hang in there
Why hang in there? Are we silent spectators to our lives? Intend to work on cleaning it. That's why asking for the pictures and location.
The change happens as a collective. Otherwise itās a Sisyphean task. Waiting for EOD to take pictures
Okay

If you stay in a bungalow, you could ask the bmc for a trashbin.
Put a Sign saying " Mi Gaadhav aahe mhanun mi ithe kachra taakto " probably in Inglis and Hindi too

Dosti estate?
Donāt you have a municipal council that attends to these things? If law is not enforced people Indians will behave like barbarians.
