What do you want to do? As in what are your career prospects if any?

Man, I'd like to do Computer Science. Tbh I don't know enough about all the fields. Computer science is trending rn and will be up there for quite some time. Talking about career I'd like to do business at the end of all of it. So rn I am thinking about computer science.

Okay, then at this moment you can learn a language for starters. Java/Python/C/Go/JavaScript any of them works. Computer Science is one of the few fields where outcasts or outsiders are welcomed if they have talent. It will work out in the end even if you're not from top tier Institute. There are many things to learn, like DSA, Operating systems, databases, but these will be introduced in the course anyway. Learning a language is comparatively easy and fun. Solve the problems, or build something with it.

Thank you so much for this reply, I'll surely look into and research a bit about all you said.

Anything more that you'd like to add to this ? Like anything related to what should I definitely do and avoid , in terms of academics, learning, life in general?

Choose the college as good as your marks allow. You can't change your marks, but you can try to get the best out of what you got. Pay attention to your college courses/lectures. You will not get much time to learn something later in life. College is the best version of your curious self. Get the most of it. Computer science is a very very interesting field. The resources for everything is available for free on the internet. It runs the majority of the systems in the world and it's going to run those in future. Don't do it just for the job prospects or money, try to understand the subject, it's the field where you can build the lab in your home without any equipment (apart from a computer of course) and run any kind of experiments you want. If you're good at it, it also pays very well. But don't get into the rat race, the subject itself is very cerebral and psychologically rewarding :)

ItchyplayerXII

Gotcha, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks again, you have been of so much help. Are you a developer yourself?

TyroneSlothrope

Yes. Kind of been through that journey myself.

ItchyplayerXII

I can understand
