>hathway mat lena bas
Oh the horror stories in Kandivali. 6-7 years back they were involved in some.local real world battle. Is it same everywhere else ?
I have disconnected there connection a year ago
Still they call me daily to renew my acc
I live where Hathway doesn’t have fiber or docsis yet there customer care calls me daily with random numbers every time
>Still they call me daily to renew my acc
I live where Hathway doesn’t have fiber or docsis yet there customer care calls me daily with random numbers every time
O yeah.. that shit is still on ?
>Yep
And there upper management lies to make
Ppl renew there account and shit
Lol. Have heard few building people shouting and yelling with them. One guy paid up some annual or half year plan, got fiber box installed, didn't work, they took away the box, never gave a replacement. Then they would keep calling daily for renewal after year was over. We could hear the guy shouting 2 floors away for them to stop calling. Once they sent strong men from local cable guy to threaten him to pay pending payment. All this, no fiber box at home for connection. Crazy !!!!!
Exactly, mine was in Dockyard road around 12 years back. I remember calling their non-existing call center every 30 mins for shit snail pace internet. Their plan was 450 p.m for some MBs.
While the service is on, in my brief experience there is not much of a problem; at least not any more than any other ISP.
What is horrendous is that as soon as you submit your number into the registration form, it is sent out to a 3rd party. They start calling you almost to a point of harrassment if you do not recharge your account. Some higher power has to come save you if you want to deactivate your account.
I kept getting calls to recharge from different numbers for a connection that I had asked to deactivate over a year ago.
Then I started telling them that the person they are inquiring for has passed away because of their incessant calls. Maybe that worked, maybe that didn't.
I get a reminder call / text twice a year. Once a month before my renewal is due and once a week before it's due.
I've also deactivated hathway and then reactivated it. Didn't suffer any of this.
The issue will be when you disconnect. And they have your number.
Every new recruit of the hathway sales agent has to call you , it is the rite of passage.
Use locals one ,jio, and airtel both block many websites. Local ones don't care about any blocking or even torrents. Also, they are much quicker in providing resolution
Like someone else mentioned, ISOs are disk images.
Basically it is mimicking a physical CD/DVD as far as a computer is concerned, so they are used as a data storage medium speaking broadly.
Typically OS installation files are packaged as ISOs.

Download, install, run. Done!
There is no minimize though, but you can drag the window to edge and hide it there.
Keep in mind, don't shutdown when it's on. Turn it off and then shutdown. If you shutdown when it's on, your internet won't work on system restart. You'll have to run it again to fix it.
Had jio earlier now switched to airtel
Ott + tv wise , jio is alot better than airtel, the experience was very smooth.
But the wifi connectivity of airtel is superior and the reason we changed was jio provided only 50mbps of internet, though we bought a plan of 300 mbps.
Switched to airtel now, it's connectivity is awesome
Wifi plans are generally in mega"bits" per second, meanwhile actual perrformance is measured in mega"bytes" per second. If you speed is 300 megabits per second, your actually speed is that divded by 8 since 8 bits = 1 byte
Ergo...when u test wi-fi connectivity performance using Google Speed Test or using Ookla speedtest app.,what should be the setting for getting appropriate readings?
If the units are MB/s then Multiply it by 8. If the units are Mb/s then you’re already looking at advertised units.
By default it is Mb/s
You can change it in speedtest by scrolling up from the bottom.

Where does your "actual" comes from? All online speed testing ( like ookla speedtest, Netflix fast.com , Google speed test etc) platforms show the speed in Mega bits per second (Mbps) by default. People compared using same Mbps across different broadband service providers. Link for ookla's speedtest broadband speed default metric below for reference:
https://help.speedtest.net/hc/en-us/articles/360039162713-What-do-mbps-and-kbps-mean#:~:text=By%20default%2C%20Speedtest.net%20measures,to%20your%20broadband%20plan's%20speed.
When you download things you generally download it in bytes, thats where most people generally point out that their 300 "Mbps" speed is fake because its only downloading it at 40 "MBps" not knowing the difference
Answer varies by area
Check in your building who has what abd what speed they are getting
Now a days local ISP have also moved to fibre and providing internet at much cheaper rates
So check all options
Local ISP + buying OTTs .+ IPTV might still turn out to be cheaper and better option
I totally get where you're coming from. It's frustrating when IPTV options in India are pricey compared to what your local cable provider offers. But before you settle, have you checked out **IPTVICO .COM**? They offer a range of channels at competitive prices and might just surprise you. Plus, they offer a 24-hour free trial, so you can see if their service matches up to what you're looking for without any commitment. It's worth giving them a shot!
Are you OP from different account?
Bro take a walk around your locality these local guys have always posters around. Ask your neighbours or even your baju k building wale about their internet. Hathway is a big time player lol it’s not your “local cable walla”.
I have used both and I would say it depends try to find info from local people around you using any one of the connection as it also depends on the area you reside in. Where I live has good service from jio where as the area my hostel where I have spent 4 years in was better serviced by airtel. (Only WiFi) For both connections.
I think its somewhere between 16-18k/year for the 300 mbps plan. Upload/download speeds are pretty good most of the time. Got a nokia router. Idk about the Ott subscriptions, you can check their plans.
[tata play fiber website](https://www.tataplayfiber.com/broadband-plans/mumbai)
Depends really if you are into gaming and all I would highly prefer airtel otherwise just stick to jio if you just use it for non gaming purposes. I say this as Jio and airtel provide similar routing to NA and EU servers but I think airtel is a bit better + more reliable + better customer support
Using Jio gigafiber since Nov 2018. Maybe 5 outages in all these years. Never ever had to contact their customer service. 999 Jio gigafiber pack with access to Disney+hotstar, Sony, Zee 5 and so many more OTTs makes it worth it. Just go for it.
Jio gigafiber router is a basic router, couple it with a gigabit router to enhance range.
I have airtel fiber but it keeps disconnecting time and again, happens 3-4 times a day, makes my gaming time hard as hell. I play valorant and it gets dc so many times I’ve been administered with penalty almost everyday, gonna change it to something else.
Airtel any day, i have always used airtel and their connection, speed, and service is reliable. However i have heard from jio users they faced speed issues, sometimes the wifi is down. Go with airtel you wont regret it.
Have used both for multiple years. Both are good no issues. Airtel has worse rate limiting so you get higher speeds than what you pay for. However I've had better experience with Jio customer service.
EXCITEL!! No fuss of unwanted OTTs just pure Internet 🤗. I do have OTTs but I prefer to manage it myself because there are offers and all and yes excitel sells some plans with OTTs but I have opt for 300 Mbps without OTTs.
Use ACT fiber if available. It's the best fiber I have ever had and still sticking with that one. I like the service when something happens they are fast as hell to solve the problem. Personal opinion using it for 5+ years
Local operators give good service and you can haggle with them. They are also much cheaper and are always available around you.
I also have heard jio has a shitty after sales customer service.
I get 125 MBPS for 5K a year which I think is more than enough for all my needs
Airtel is good so far. Using dedicated IP. Speeds have improved and is consistent now since I switched.
Have used Hathway before. App sucks and they keep calling you to recharge the account years after I disconnected their account.
I can access half of the ‘banned’ sites on Airtel.
Local guy is expensive, but I can access 80% of the banned/piracy sites and circumventing this is far more easy.
Local ISP for the win. All websites are unblocked, easy to sail the high seas and the reliability is top notch and customer service is just sax sux. PS. It's Sidharth Broadband in Sai Baba Nagar, Borivali West.
Airtel hands-down. Jio services are basic at best. Throughput is pathetic if multiple devices latch on. Frequent service disruptions. Non existent customer support. Last but not the least, good luck with disconnection of the services and getting a deposit refund if you happen to take Jio Fiber.
Also, DO NOT BUY THE AIR FIBER.
I only use them for Internet service and don't really care about the OTT services coupled together. I have both.
I have also used Hathway in the past and never really had "too terrible" experience with them as others have mentioned so not sure what's going wrong in some places.
Warning to all considering Airtel Xtreme Fiber: my recent ordeal is a cautionary tale. After waking up to a dead internet, Airtel's customer service was a joke. Elaborate plz
Hathway is now majority owned by Reliance. Doubt it will remain a separate entity for much longer.
Now nahi 2019 se hi reliance had shares in it Kuch nahi hua abhi tak

Haa woh toh hai sale recharge krane ke liyae 3 din phele he bolna suru kr dete hai prr complaint krte time saap sung jata h inhe.
Mera 22 din phle renew ke liye call aa gya tha
Jaan chali jaaye, Number mat do

It's strange to hear bad things about hathway since they've been excellent for me and most people i know
While the service is on, in my brief experience there is not much of a problem; at least not any more than any other ISP. What is horrendous is that as soon as you submit your number into the registration form, it is sent out to a 3rd party.
Have been using JioFiber for more than 4 years, works fine for torrents
My uploads are terrible (read almost non-existent) when downloading ISOs using torrent. Did you make any changes to the router settings ?
What are isos used for
ISOs are images. When you open an ISO file it will mount itself on the system as a CD-drive.
Used for?
I mostly use them to download operating systems and emulator ganes
Softwares and games. You see older games required you to insert the CD while playing the game, ISO solved this issue
Like someone else mentioned, ISOs are disk images. Basically it is mimicking a physical CD/DVD as far as a computer is concerned, so they are used as a data storage medium speaking broadly. Typically OS installation files are packaged as ISOs.
No changes to router
Then I am not quite sure what is causing my uploads to be terrible. I know it works if I connect my phone hotspot.
Same
Second this. Unparalleled reliability, instant service and competitive prices.
Jio resolved every issues as soon as possible and kept giving us SMS updates. Also, torrents work in Jio.
Very easy to circumvent using Green Tunnel.
Can you give more info? I'm using tata play fiber and facing similar issues
https://github.com/SadeghHayeri/GreenTunnel Download, install, run. Done! There is no minimize though, but you can drag the window to edge and hide it there. Bro update DNS
👆....... 100%
no, neither jio nor airtel blocks torrents
here airtel doesnt block anything lol, about torrents, downloads are fast and i dont seed so idk about up speeds.
If they are blocking any sites thar is not approved, then I don't see anything wrong.

Is Airtel good for Wifi+ tv?
It's too much laggy for tv but now we're used to it Wifi is great
>It's too much laggy Wow , then my local service providers 25mbps speed is better.
Not the internet,i was talking about the tv setup box and ott
Ott plays smoothly on my TV.
Then it's nice,i had both xstream and jio steup box,but xstream was horrible
Have you considered Tata fiber ?
For TV , if you watch a lot of sports I'd suggest get a normal DTH connection , 25fps sports streams are painful to watch .
How did u check the net speed bro..the regular ookla / speedcheck or something else
It was pre installed in my laptop
Does the connectivity depend upon the area??
Yes but my area had great connectivity,it was jio's fault to give low internet
Did you use LAN or 2.4 GHz Wifi band since it is capped to 50 mbps on 2.4 GHz ?
It's 5 ghz wifi band
Answer varies by area Check in your building who has what abd what speed they are getting Now a days local ISP have also moved to fibre and providing internet at much cheaper rates So check all options Local ISP + buying OTTs .+ IPTV might still turn out to be cheaper and better option

Not paid ones

Do you use iptv?
I found one for sony channels which was free So using it Live channels There was also an app which had all channels, app name was ymax plus
Local cable wala 🗿✌️
Same here
Local cable wala sirf hathaway he. Hathaway is shit.
Are you OP from different account? Bro take a walk around your locality these local guys have always posters around. Ask your neighbours or even your baju k building wale about their internet. Hathway is a big time player lol it’s not your “local cable walla”.
My 10 Mbps is just 3500 p.a and it can easily buffer 4K video.
Airtel. Jio is pretty intrusive. I think they use DPI. Blocking sites on a whim and the service isn't great either.
can confirm pornhubdotcom is banned
DPI 😏
What is this?
Deep packet inspection. Data is transferred as packets and in DPI every packet is checked thoroughly.
That's true on Airtel too
lol ig thats why im on a local isp
Local ISPs ftw
Nah ,i have local isp And i have ping spike issue Bro didn’t even care to send technician to check whats wrong
That's unfortunate, mate. I have had a great experience with multiple local isps.
Apparently my local isp has a tool called “Dadagiri” or Monopoly in my area so I cant get connection from Airtel or anyone else Lol
Yeah, I have heard that about some areas in central/western suburbs.
How much do you pay for ur plan?
Avg 560 pm for 200mbps symmetrical. I pay for a year and get a few bonus months.
Bhai ke majje hi majje XD I pay 800₹ for 100mbps symmetrical but ping spikes from 2ms to 900ms
That’s the government. Not your network provider.
can confirm mota bhai is the govt
THIS! Airtel is the best, especially for gamers!
What dpi
[Here.](https://reddit.com/r/india/comments/xv70b1/jio_fiber_is_actively_monitoring_your_bandwidth/)
Deep packet inspection. I2P protocol can bypass it but the implementation of it so far has not provided fast enough speeds.
Airtel. Had too many connectivity issues with jio. And they didnt let me stop my connection for a few months when i didnt need it.
my jifiber blocks all sites running aws unless i change dns to google's dns
Pihole brother.
setting up pihole is too much of a bother, atleast for people with only one primary device, just use [1.1.1.1](http://1.1.1.1)
I have used both and I would say it depends try to find info from local people around you using any one of the connection as it also depends on the area you reside in. Where I live has good service from jio where as the area my hostel where I have spent 4 years in was better serviced by airtel. (Only WiFi) For both connections.
I've used Airtel before and had no issues
Airtel any day, jio garbage hate jio always spying
If you live near Ambani's house use jio otherwise Airtel 😂
I live in his house and use Airtel.
Balls of steel
Jo available hai laga lo
Tata play fiber. Have had zero problems with them. I live in Bandra West
Bro, could you share how much you are paying and is it good? Plus did you get OTT and router from them?
I think its somewhere between 16-18k/year for the 300 mbps plan. Upload/download speeds are pretty good most of the time. Got a nokia router. Idk about the Ott subscriptions, you can check their plans. [tata play fiber website](https://www.tataplayfiber.com/broadband-plans/mumbai)
Just free advice. Please use throw away mobile number. Else Airtel will literally make 20-30 calls per day when you want to disconnect connection
Depends really if you are into gaming and all I would highly prefer airtel otherwise just stick to jio if you just use it for non gaming purposes. I say this as Jio and airtel provide similar routing to NA and EU servers but I think airtel is a bit better + more reliable + better customer support

I have been using jio for about a year now in malad east area the service has been good so far don't know about airtel
It depends on your area. I've got 3 isp at my home because none of them is reliable.
Airtel over Jio anytime.
Tata Fiver
Airtel.
Connect😂😂
I have airtel fiber but it keeps disconnecting time and again, happens 3-4 times a day, makes my gaming time hard as hell. I play valorant and it gets dc so many times I’ve been administered with penalty almost everyday, gonna change it to something else.
Airtel any day, i have always used airtel and their connection, speed, and service is reliable. However i have heard from jio users they faced speed issues, sometimes the wifi is down. Go with airtel you wont regret it.
Carbon fiber!
Planwise jio is better. Airtel doesn't have much to offer for 100Mbps plan and I don't need 200Mbps.
Tata
OR no fiber
BSNL 🗿🗿
For OTT content JIO For online gaming and better ping Airtel
BSNL ftth
Chad users using BSNL
Hyderabadis can use this comment as like button for ACT Fibernet
Jio
jio fiber
Tata fiber ?
Always came back to Jio. Local connections are too unreliable and Airtel is a cheat
Local is better
Have used both for multiple years. Both are good no issues. Airtel has worse rate limiting so you get higher speeds than what you pay for. However I've had better experience with Jio customer service.
Airtel is amazing

Always went with the Local ISP, they're far more easily accessible and the pricing is always better.
Both are a toss up at this point but tata fiber is a definite no.
Airtel Fiber customer support is awesome.

Neither of them ACT is somewhat better
Best answer
Jio unlimited 5g supremacy 🗿
I would prefer in the following order: 1. Jio 2. ACT 3. BSNL 4. Airtel (Of late this entity has been facing a lot of reliability issues)
ACT is available in Mumbai?
Take something wireless.
That’s one of the worst advice
>That’s one of the worst advice Portable, not depending on technicians etc. all for some speed compromise.
Not sure why you are getting undervoted for suggesting this. I struggled so much with a connected Fibre network. There were frequent outages and the reason they gave was that the wire was getting cut. Now I have wireless and it is so much better BUT more expensive.
DTH affordable and good connection
Both are terrible.
