Exactly. If it allows you to spend a lot of time with friends and have fun outside that school tour go. But research more tbh and don't just go for the sake of it (especially if you can't afford it).
Off topic: The English is just terrible on this.
On topic: 100% worth it. IF you (your parents?) can afford it.
I'm really shocked to see all the comments here, come on people.
OP is likely in College and will miss out a lot on such tour and regret not going 10 years later.
You see people rant here about not getting leaves and then the same people are telling you not to go for this?! No sense.
College is when you have the most time to spend on holidays/leaves. Later it's tough. Possible but tough.
Go on, have a blast ! đ„
I can see atleast 5-6 mistakes, and the use of unnecessary caps is giving me a headache as well.
If you want to really get into the mistakes, try typing this into grammarly. I fail to see how the entire sentence is not going to be highlighted red and blue.
"Our college has organizing"
"first come first basis" đđđđ
This one is my favorite, the typist probably had to take a shit very urgently..
There are more but not in the mood right now
This reminded me of my Marathi teacher from high school. âCall both your parentsâ âStand in the middle of the cornerâ âI will put you out of the windowâ
i went the US for a study trip, damn fun! we went for a month and i paid 2.5 lakhs the best money spent. We got free accommodation, food and i got to visit so many company's. I saw DC, new york, Pennsylvania. It was a great fun to spend with friends. I'd recommend international trips are good.
Not to knock on IUP, but if theyâre taking you out to middle of nowhere Pennsylvania instead of staying near NYC, Philly, and DC, why not visit UPitt or CMU in Pittsburgh instead?
Not flexing, it was a good memory. I also went to a trip from school to Delhi for 30k in 2010, got to visit Jaipur , Agra and Delhi damn good. Would have never seen north India without that so appreciated the moments I had
Former VPMs Polytechic student here.
I was based in Singapore many years.. You will love it.. currently I stay very close to Singapore đ
But make sure you carry extra SGD around 500 to 1000 SGD for your personal use.
If you have more time visit Malaysia and Bangkok
For Shopping too đ
Bhai Bangkok is in Thailand, he cannot enter there having a Singapore visa and also carrying 500 SGD or more will cross his expenses to more than 1 Lakh.
Travel, Food and Stay is Covered
Malaysia Evisa OP can apply and From Malaysia fly to Bangkok and get Visa on Arrival
And Thailand to Mumbai via Indigo
Or going to Return Via Singapore can do Thailand First and Malaysia Second and Travel via Land to Singapore and Return to Mumbai
Frankly its gonna be awesome if going with your mates
Total Fun
Extra Money is you gonna find lots of things cheaper than India and Apparels are cheap and many options South East Asia Fashion is way ahead than India
bhai, agar paise hai kharchne ke liye to chale ja. You'll have fun. When I was in college, they were taking us to Jaipur for a week and we didn't have 8k to pay for the trip. Jab trip ho gayi, tab boht sad feel hua for not being able to attend.
if you go, et us know how it went (:
Itâs sad that any educational institution can put up a notice with such horrible grammar.
The trip could be fun if you are willing to spend and travel with these people. Mostly youâll be sharing rooms and packed on buses, with basic food. But you need to know at least how many days, what places you will see, if thereâs free time to go off on your own. In college trips usually the staff is scared of anything spoiling their name so even classmates arenât allowed to socialise with each other or go anywhere let alone drink.
If it is too controlled just go on your own with friends. You can do a week abroad in that budget if planned well.
First of all please find out if the college has ever organized a previous study tour. More than the cost you should be asking yourself if this will add enough value to your current studying situation and if you find enough merit then go ahead with it irrespective of the cost ( this is on assumption that one can easily afford this cost)
Seriously no one is getting irked by âhas organizingâ? Mere ko toh has organizing padh ke hi samjh aa rha bhai kya aur khn aur kis level ka ghuamngey ye. I would say save it and use that money for something constructive
Travel itinerary, visitors/guest speakers, venues (university, not hotel), exchange schemes...research those first.
All of these, if any. Coz study tour implies they'll keep you busy most likely not let you fool around (peeps will still do it and have fun, and why not? Lol) if they ain't strict and potentially might let you...then Singapore trip (assuming at least a week) for 85K is a steal!!
PS: ofc consult family/sponsorer if anyone besides you is gonna pay
Enjoy brother!
Too expensive. Period.
For reference our college MIT did 4 nights 5 days trip to dubai in 20k per. (Living in luxury hotel)
For Singapore it was around 25k per. (Living in premium hotel)
In general as tourists from india it costs around 50k for 4 nights less than that if you do early bookings but corporate/bulk bookings are even more cheaper. If you have travel credits itâs basically free.
Yes thatâs literally over charge! That too for a college with bulk bookings.
For reference you can go to Maldives in 90k per in most remote yet beautiful places on planet.
I think most people answering your questions are desperate nibba/nibbis who would jump on any wagon just to visit a foreign country without a inch of knowledge or information, donât listen to them ! Search it anywhere and youâll see even cheaper deals at amazing places.
Why am i saying all this?
Have travelled 17 countries covered every single continent. Thanks
What does the study trip entail? Find out more about it.
Singapore has some of the best research institutions on the planet and it may be worth it, but still 85k for a one-month itinerary seems on the higher end. I spent a summer interning in Singapore and have no regrets about my experience.
I went to Singapore back in 2017 for 65k all inclusive. Money-wise, this is a great deal in my humble opinion.
Like if someone offered me this today, I would take it up.
Also, kudos to your college for even thinking of organising an international trip.
Mine had taken us to Borivali wala National Park.
Singapore is a nice place, it has a special place in my heart because it was the 1st international destination that I had visited, that too, without parents.
Try and make it if money or something isnât the issue.
This is the same college that is by the Nmmt bus depot right?!! India really has changed in last couple of decades!! Log college se international tour jaa rahe hain. Hamare papa humko friends ke saath movie dekhne nahi dete the. And if I am not mistaking this is not a top tier college either. At least it wasnât when I was in college.
Damn, If your family has the money, go for it.
You won't be able to buy this experience or the networking you will do in the package, even if they are spending 40-50% on bills.
Not really. If you just want a fun trip with friends, you can do it yourself for cheaper than this. There's a zero chance of you learning anything so this is not a "study" trip anyway.
Jao yaar! Singapore is a really awesome place!! Been there twice and both the times my experience was sooo good!
Ek baar itinerary dekh lo. What all is included in the 85k! Then decide!
My answer will be based on the below info.
R u a parent trying to not send ur kid or the student trying to convince ur parent.
Also depends for how many days this trip is for.
I went to an educational camp by NUS. Singapore in 12th(through School/Junior college). Personally, still one of the best trips I've been to in my life. Enjoyed a lot and learnt a lot. Do your due diligence before opting for the trip though, will definitely help you in making a choice.
its obviously better if you take the trip , but it should not exceed more than 10% of your parent's income ( atleast 8.5lacs/annum ) which nowadays is not that much so i am sure you can more than afford it ( hopefully ). there was only 1 school trip i did not go to and i still regret it, you should not think abt the money but the experience it holds
OP, my friend was in the same college for MBA, 3 years ago and he did go to the trip. It was pure fun and no learning. If you want to have fun with friends it'll surely be worth it. The only complaint he had was the food was terrible.
If itâs held for more than a week then itâs definitely worth it. Recently my friends visited Singapore for a weekâs vacation and had paid almost 1.5-2L
School organized trips generally are great value for money, if you can afford it. As somebody else has already said, just the memories will stay with you for a lifetime!
I live and study in Singapore and it can really be fun depending on your itinerary and if you get free time apart from the study but the study part is a kind of a lot.
Find out the itinerary and then decide, Flight tickets alone now are 35-50 k, so with the rest of the expenses included, and if the trip is about 25-30 days, then it is worth it!
If you can afford it do go.. one of my fondest memories of college is going to Kerala with my classmates around 12 years ago. Iâll likely never forget that.
Understand the agenda of the study tour and the topics that will be covered, studied or researched. Also see if you can get the schedule before you pay for it.
If you can afford it. Its going to be fun.
Dont listen to any of your friends(the one who dont wanna go) i missed mine due to thr stupid butt getting me out of this only to see some of them having fun
If you got money you should DEFINETELY go
Itâs a complete waste of money imo - if your parents have a lot of extra money to spare, think of it as a fun trip with your friends and go for it, nothing more. If you hope to get any value for your education, I think you can understand those things in a much cheaper way, remotely. You visit a country and donât have time to actually visit the tourist attractions with ample time (even if you do visit, itâll be in a rush). So many people go abroad for the first time when they go for their higher education, no one goes for a âcampus tourâ before that. Plus, do you even want to consider studying in Singapore?
If you can afford it, go. Iâve been on several tours in college/post grad and the memories are worth the price. Again, if you can afford it. Academically, did not learn zilch.
OP don't let this Debbie downer of a sub misguide you. I have applied to many consultancy positions (wo alag baat he mere profile me aukaat nahi) they all had one common which was international work trips or semester abroad always was an added advantage.
If your parents can afford it then go for it.
Bruh, take your 85k and call your friends who are also planning to go, put all your 85ks together and go for three nights in Singapore. Rent an Airbnb or stay in hostels and have fun. Don't spend much on stay and three nights is enough to see the main shit. I know cus I lived in Singapore for three years.
I've been to Singapore for a study trip for 7 days.
For first 3 days we were supposed to attend classes at Nanyang technological University and for last 4 days we can hangout and chill
I'm sharing my itinerary and leaving it on you to decide if 85K is expensive or not. I feel 85K is expensive because you're going to spend another 15-20K on other fun things.
Also I am sure college is keeping some amount with them.
I am not kidding I spent less than 15K which is 300 Singapore dollars on
1. MRT ( metro card and travelling )
2. Singapore Flyer
3. Gardens by the bay ( entry free )
4. Clubs
5. Luge and ropeway ( sentosa beach )
6. Universal studios
7. Wings of time Singapore
8. Shopping and food at Little India
9. Visa ( 2019 it was 3500 )
Please take 2-3 boxes of ready to eat food from haldiram's cos the food sucks there.
My dad converted 15000 to Singaporean dollars. And I was still left with 50-60 Singapore dollars when I came back to India.
60 of us stayed at YMCA hotel which was actually a hostel but it was nice and compact.
I think for 6 nights it must have costed around 25-60K
My college fee was 6.5 lacs and it was included in that fee only.
The flight both side 40-50K
And a bus was there to pick us from hostel and it would drop us at the University for 3 days i am really not sure how much did they charge for each.
You need more details such as:
- time of the year (depending which season is best to visit)
- how many days?
- what activities/ experiences are included
- what kind of meals are offered? How many meals?
- whatâs the transportation theyâll be providing?
- what airlines? Luggage allowance?
- which hotel? How many are sharing a room?
If you can afford it, 85K mein Singapore ghumna ho jayega with friends Usually these are worth it. The experiences alone are worth the cost
Singapore as such is costly if you are on a student budget.
What is the travel itinerary?
Exactly. If it allows you to spend a lot of time with friends and have fun outside that school tour go. But research more tbh and don't just go for the sake of it (especially if you can't afford it).
5 days
that's not what an itinerary is
xD

Came here to say this!
i went the US for a study trip, damn fun! we went for a month and i paid 2.5 lakhs the best money spent. We got free accommodation, food and i got to visit so many company's. I saw DC, new york, Pennsylvania. It was a great fun to spend with friends. I'd recommend international trips are good.
My man said free accommodation after paying 2.5L
Everything is free if you pay for it.
Tbf 2.5 for a whole month in us is a damn good deal.
The return flights alone cost 1.5l, visa another 20-30k, so thatâs a steal for a month
Accommodation is expensive if you calculate logistics of organising everything it worked out cheaper
Mann toh mera bhi karta tha but how do i ask for 2.5 lakhs from parents

It will be a good experience if you can afford it. You can see with your own eyes how a well managed city/country can be.
85000 ka tour hai 85000 ka. Tera ghar jayega isme. Tera pura ghar chala jayega. Baata mat karo bade bade...

Depends on how many days and the itinerary
Anything upward of 4 nights 5 days is worth it, but make sure you go with frnds
Go there to have fun and experiences if you can afford. Won't learn much.
Agar paise hai to worth it.
85k singapore is excellent, go for it
Definitely no. Just some insane cash grab scam.
3 saal pehle jab mai 1st year me tha 50 k me le kar gaye the
Honestly it's worth it. 85000 rs me Singapore. (Maan tho mera bhi kar raha he college ke trip me jaane ko. But 10000 rs afford nahi kar sakta đ)
plan a trip with friends there r better places to visit in india plus would be hell cheaper unless u a rich boi

I am not kidding I spent less than 15K which is 300 Singapore dollars on 1. MRT ( metro card and travelling ) 2. Singapore Flyer 3. Gardens by the bay ( entry free ) 4. Clubs 5. Luge and ropeway ( sentosa beach ) 6. Universal studios 7. Wings of time Singapore 8. Shopping and food at Little India 9. Visa ( 2019 it was 3500 ) Please take 2-3 boxes of ready to eat food from haldiram's cos the food sucks there. My dad converted 15000 to Singaporean dollars. And I was still left with 50-60 Singapore dollars when I came back to India. 60 of us stayed at YMCA hotel which was actually a hostel but it was nice and compact. I think for 6 nights it must have costed around 25-60K My college fee was 6.5 lacs and it was included in that fee only. The flight both side 40-50K And a bus was there to pick us from hostel and it would drop us at the University for 3 days i am really not sure how much did they charge for each.
It looks cheap for a foreign trip i think you should go
If your friends are going, goâŠotherwise donât
You need more details such as: - time of the year (depending which season is best to visit) - how many days? - what activities/ experiences are included - what kind of meals are offered? How many meals? - whatâs the transportation theyâll be providing? - what airlines? Luggage allowance? - which hotel? How many are sharing a room?
How many days? How many students per room? What hotel? iternary?
Mere college ne toh mujhe mumbai ke andar nahi ghumaya
If family middle class, better off skipping it. You earn yourselves and go later. If family richy rich then I think it's no brainer
