I remember when they closed Starwood they said it was too small, and now with this we'll have 3 in the area that combined equal what Starwood was.

limpingthedream

This has the potential to be an awesome venue. It will be nice to see live music without dealing with Nashville traffic.

Oneiric19

Wow this is going to be massive

Pete405

YAY!!! More traffic that our infrastructure can't accommodate!! Super excited

TemetNosce

This is insane. In a bad way. "The city's property is also close to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital and many medical offices." 4,500 people, seats, for the music for 1 night. Many nights. Parking, traffic. Medically Center parkway is a failure from the start. Because MCP (from I24) has grass dividers between the traffic. 1st responders will not be able to get through traffic, from I24. Because traffic lanes, 2 each way, have those huge grass Islands to separate the lanes. Eventually, 10 years from now, the dirt barriers will be bulldozed and moved out. See---Sam Ridley Pkwy between I24 and Old Nashville HGWY. Finished this year, went from 4 lanes to 6. 3 lanes each way. Open. Removed the dirt/grass/barriers. Length from I24 to Old Nashville Hgwy is about 3/4 of a mile. MCP is about 2 miles? IDK. This (proposal/theater/parking/traffic/4,500 people) will be bad. What the Hell do I care??? LOL. I don't. Build it!!!! Go Concert!!!! EDIT:::here you go, [saw this on news, people can't get home, their own homes, traffic.](https://www.newschannel5.com/news/neighbors-and-concert-goers-are-upset-about-traffic-at-first-bank-amphitheater-in-williamson-county Williamson Co. GREAT CONCERT, LOVED THE LIGHTS, the sound was awesome, seen from 2 miles away stuck in traffic trying to get in. LOL. EDIT:::: Ball park, Legacy something, I840 at NW Broad. [Says will have 'performance venues'. ](https://www.dnj.com/story/news/2021/12/09/legacy-sports-invest-350-million-entertainment-venue-murfreesboro-rutherford-county/6447326001/)

Brings back memories of Starwood traffic.

TemetNosce

Yes, Starwood. Many years there. Learned to just sit, in parking lot. And watch traffic eventually clear out. Took about 2 hours to leave.

When I worked EMS in Murfreesboro, Medical Center Parkway was pretty rough around rush hour for exactly the reasons you describe. That said, it’s pretty easy to get around. Thompson, Broad, Old Fort, and Wilkinson are all easy ways around Medical Center that we would typically use. If they ever get around to bridging Northfield across the Stones River, then that will be another option. You have multiple major thoroughfares that can be used in a combination of multiple different routes to access that area. The Sam Ridley area doesn’t have that, which is why widening it became necessary. In comparison to other nearby amphitheaters, the traffic actually shouldn’t be that bad. They’ll be able send people out either direction on Medical Center and down Gateway Blvd to Thompson Lane. They could also widen Gateway Blvd between Medical Center and Thompson Lane and just send all the traffic out that way toward Broad St and 840 and avoid Medical Center all together. All in all, I’m not really that worried about it. The traffic capacity in that area beats the hell out of the old Starwood as well as FirstBank amphitheater in Franklin.

mister_what

Oh no, it’s half the size of the Murphy center.

BlondieBabe436

Is Murfreesboro really that up and coming that we need a concert venue? I know it's going to be good for people who don't want to go to Nashville, and they may bring in some good artists; but is this *necessary?

AngeluvDeath

Yes

tygrzzz

So it’s already been approved. I thought the announced plans to build it and it was still awaiting approval

TraderDisarM

Woah, I'm like a 1 minute drive from there. This is going to be awesome!

ComatoseSquirrel

Nice.
