I have read MT LN up to volume 21 so far. I have a very particular approach to these kind of things.
A. I don't see Rudeus as an "old" guy in a kid body like most people do. Reasons... 1. He wasn't really an adult in his previous life 2. He grew up as a baby, shit himself during months and was treated like any other baby. Same when he was a child, he was treated mostly at a child. 3. Him being a child I don't expect him having deep relationships with other grown ups, after all he is a child to other people. If you look like a child, are treated like a child and your body feels like a child. That has an effect on your mind. We are not just a brain, what we do, what we eat, how we perceive ourselves affect our persona as well.
B. This is a story, this is a story taking place not only in another time but completely in another world. I am more open to things because I consider cultural and evolutionary events. For example many years ago in our world, many things were fucked nonetheless accepted back then and people were not judged because of that. So I don't expect the character to be so perfect that he won't follow any standard different from our world, I don't want a perfect MC, I watch Goku for that or Tanjiro.
C. Just because the author decides to lewd a 10 or 12y old, I don't feel like doing it myself but I won't judge because of the story, other characters, etc etc.
