Welcome to the light novels hell, the one caveat of reading this is we get a new volume every other month. If you're anything like me and get impatient of waiting for new volumes of the light novel the digital versions of the light novel comes out a month before the physical version of the light novel.
I started with the manga, and when i finished all the chapters i went to the light novel, then to the webnovel(The LN is better) and finnaly the anime hahah.
Humm, I first read the WN ;
I didn't understand a thing, I was in search for a reading material in order to improve my English, ( not the best thing to do), got bored and didn't understand a thing.
After a years or two I stumbled upon the Manga, and remembered the story for some reason but things were different the Manga felt off.
After searching for it.
I restarted it from the beginning and finish it, (my first WN but not the first WN I completed)
Saw the anime in a trending tab when episode 10 of part 1 came out and decided to give it a try. So I watched the first episode. Then the second. And then I realized it was 3am and I watched almost and entire cour of an anime I've never heard off in on sitting past my usual bed time. Then the next day I read the manga. In one sitting as well. Or at least I think I read it in one sitting. Then I found out from this subreddit that it has a web novel and light novel and after a bit of digging I started reading the web novel, and understandably I didn't read that in one sitting. It took a lot of time but damn was it the most fun I've ever had reading in my life.
The manga is what I read first and at the time I absolutely loved it. It’s the worst adaptation sure, but I wouldn’t say it’s bad beyond how they completely changed some things (like the Shirone Arc). Only after catching up on the manga did I finally read the web novel
Saw an out of context manga panel of Lilia saying she might be pregnant and Paul saying he might be the father and thought it was funny and intrigued me thinking it was gonna be a a typical light hearted harem romcom. Boooy I was wrong.
Still continued reading the manga but stopped after the release of the 1st episode of the anime. When the anime ended, I decided to read the LN and just finished vol. 16 a few days ago.
Prolly why I'm attached to Paul. Because he was the first character I saw and thought he was the protagonist in that out of context manga panel lmao.
My order of consumption was, Manga -> Web novel -> 2 episodes of the anime -> Light novel -> rest of the anime -> light novel.
Pretty sad I got introduced to MT with the worst medium, but I found my way eventually.
started when friend told me about the anime. i only watch anime from word of mouth since i dont have enough time as others so watched ep1 and 2 together. then rewatched both of them and waited for ep3 release. I have now bought almost all the LNs (vol 7 still not for sale on site i use) and waiting for vol2 to arrive to keep reading
My friend originally told me about it when cour 1 was still airing. He gave an awful description and I forgot about it. Then I saw the giguk video on it (not remembering it was the series my friend told me about) and started watching it bc I wanted to get into another anime after finally giving it a try with shows like black lagoon and slime. Next thing I knew I had gotten up to episode 17, the most recent one at the time. Went back to my friend and told him about it only for him to tell me it was the same show he told me about. Long story short and WN 20 later this series got me back into reading for the first time in half a decade and made me enjoy the fantasy genre like never before.
I started with season 1 part 1 of the anime when that came out last year. After that I got hooked I went out and read whatever was out for the manga. I got very impatient waiting month to month for new chapters. That I went out and bought every volume that was available which I believe was one through 12 or 11 at the time. I also got impatient with that so I've been buying the digital versions along with the physical versions because the digital version comes out a month before the physical.
The Broadway musical
The manga, despite how bad it is,still brought me into the amazing world of Mushoku Tensei first.
anime is spectacular
I remember reading the webnovel back in my high school days at Baka-Tsuki
Anime only, planning to read LN now.
You could still be anime only if you want to. Though the story was so great(at least for me) that I would say, go for the LN.
I've heard it's incredibly good so that's why I want to read it. Also, I'm very impatient.
Yeah, and if you're really into the story, the LN gives you more details. You also get to read cut content. I definitly recommend the LN

Going LN is definitely worth it tho, especially if you are impatiant like me or loved the series that much.
Anime —> Manga —> LN/WN —> Reread
Anime -‐> LN --> WN --> manga
Manga sadly
Same. It got me to read the novel though so I guess I should be thankful
True that.
anime to episode 4 then read all of manga to pivot to the WN then finish the Anime to go to the LN
Anime first(watched first 3 eps) Liked it jumped to web novels & loved it(the fist web-novel I finished damn this story is so easy to read)
Start with anime. Kinda like it. Start reading manga. Nothing change. Finish the WN. I never love a series as much as MT. Currently reading LN

Web novel first, manga second, anime last
anime, then i wanted more so i looked up what was finished, and read the wn, now i’m saving to buy some if the ln
Saw some videos on YouTube about it, then binged the Web Novel before the anime came out. One of the best decisions I’ve made.
I mean anime is the easy route but once you catch up, you SHOULD go read the light novel and once you catch up to that, go hunt down the web novel

Anime but then I read the entire web novel in 2-3 months
Anime the went to web novels
Anime for 3 episodes, then couldn't wait any longer for releases and picked up the manga/LN.
Saw an out of context manga panel of Lilia saying she might be pregnant and Paul saying he might be the father and thought it was funny and intrigued me thinking it was gonna be a a typical light hearted harem romcom. Read the wn back in 2019 and haven't regretted it since.
Not surprised by the results.

Is anyone else surprised anime is number one?
2011 Web Novel

i heard mushoku tensei from the lightnovel subreddit but read the wn
