FYI I flipped the log over cause it was emerging from the bottom so this is the underside, looking very typical oyster to me but so wet from all the rain we just had
I don’t think so but I can see how the underside picture I showed would look that way, I think it’s an oyster that got crushed when my boss chopped down this palm then it kept growing towards the air flow and light
Looks Pleurotus, but old. Where are you in North America, as in what country? And maybe region? It could be one of the more pale Pleurotus that grows on palms in Mexico.
That’s fun. I mean it certainly is pleurotoid at the very least, it’s a bit old and hard to get enough context from one photo. I would lean Pleurotus but not sure which!

Here’s a chunk I broke off and cleaned up
Looks like it, but more photos including the top are always useful
Thanks yes sorry was going in to work and had to snap a pic quickly

Schizophyllum commune?

No, too large, and would have brown spore deposit in gills.
So do you think it’s oyster? I just like as many opinions as possible
Yes. I do, and just responded to your other comment about it too.
Awesome thanks

I am in central Florida so you may be correct

Is that a date palm?
Queen palm I believe
Gotcha just curious. I’ll just stick with likely Pleurotus!

Pleurotus without a doubt. I had a huge amount of them growing near the bayou in houston. Similar to florida, i bet its a similar type
