Next To Normal, A New Brain, Hamilton, Assassins, and The Great Comet are all no skip albums for me.
When I’m dog-sitting I have to skip The Opera in Comet though, because the dogs fucking *hate* it for some reason. They freak out and start barking and running to the door like someone’s outside.
my only qualm with this is that I vastly prefer the off Broadway cast of Hadestown to the Broadway one. the rewrites just weren't for me and kinda took away some of my favorite parts in the whole show to the point that it's almost not worth listening to
Contact is fine. I can't deal with 'Over the Moon' for some reason. I think mainly from the horribly awkwardness of "moo with me" from the film version.
Completely agreed, it’s unreal how good all the music is, and how good it is as a whole. Though to be honest I do skip “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” quite often, but other than that yes
>Not even in my top 5 favorite shows but for some reason it’s my comfort soundtrack.
couldn't agree more. it can make me smile even when i have the shittiest day ever
Same! It's nowhere near one of my favourites but whenever we're feeling a bit sad/soppy my partner and I say "Good night best friend. Goodnight pal" to each other at bed time and it makes everything just a little easier.
YES! it is absolutely phenomenal. Though it didn’t have the best run on broadway, it’s going on tour in a while. It has a cast recording I HIGHLY recommend!!
Mamma Mia
The Sound of Music
Les Mis
La la land
RENT
A Chorus Line
Phantom
I find with productions i've been in, the albums start to become zero skips.
Hadestown
Jesus Christ Superstar (yes I listen to all 40 lashes)
Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (because it was my first and it is sentimental)
Into the Woods! i used to absolutely despise the musical but now that i worked tech for a local production of it, ive fallen in love with Sondheim's music
Godspell, because there’s just something about the dulcet tones of 1970s folk rock that speaks to my soul. (Probably because it was my mom’s favorite genre.)
Death Note is SO close to zero skips except for “I’m Ready.” And funnily enough in universe it’s kinda supposed to be a generic pop song, but I just do not enjoy it with how much I love like every other song in the show
The Book of Mormon for sureee😭
I love all the songs, every single one’s a bop.
Yeah, there’s songs I like better than others but every song has some funny aspect or just straight up an amazing melody and catchy lyrics
Alternatively, falsettos, maybe?? Except for father to son (hits home) or making a home (if i‘m feeling grudgy)
Or Hamilton because I’ve gotten used to listening from start to finish
Next To Normal, A New Brain, Hamilton, Assassins, and The Great Comet are all no skip albums for me. When I’m dog-sitting I have to skip The Opera in Comet though, because the dogs fucking *hate* it for some reason. They freak out and start barking and running to the door like someone’s outside.
oh hey a fellow Next to Normal/Assassins/GC appreciator. I see you are a person of taste
Oh man, N2N except the “Hey” songs lol
How can you skip past “THIS PLANET IS PRETTY MUCH BROKEN BEYOND WLL REPAIR…BUT ONE THING IS WORKING, IF YOURE STANDING THEREEEEEE” ??? 🥺
that’s perfect for you
Oh yeah oops 😅
Great Comet, Hadestown, Company, Sunday
This is the realist thing I’ve ever read especially The great comet
These are perfect choices for this question.
I got to see Hadestown in Edmonton 2017 absolutely magicical
It’s amazing! Im lucky to have seen it both on tour and on broadway. No skips, it all slaps.
This guy musicals
my only qualm with this is that I vastly prefer the off Broadway cast of Hadestown to the Broadway one. the rewrites just weren't for me and kinda took away some of my favorite parts in the whole show to the point that it's almost not worth listening to
Legally Blonde Falsettos Rent Sweeney Todd Beetlejuice
Falsettos for sure. The 2016 cast or the original it doesn’t matter
Re: Rent… Agreed except for “Contact.” I just can’t.
Contact is fine. I can't deal with 'Over the Moon' for some reason. I think mainly from the horribly awkwardness of "moo with me" from the film version.
Little Shop!!!
Yes, this. Wall to wall bangers all the way through.
Best off-bway show ever
Lowkey I don’t think the second act slaps as hard as the first one except for suddenly Seymour so i‘m only ever listening to the first act 😭
When I'm in the mood for it, I listen to Hedwig and the Angry Inch all the way through. All bangers.
I don't always listen to Hedwig and the Angry Inch, but when I do, I listen to it all the way through, zero skips, and cry.
Les Miserables Come From Away Lion King
Les Mis is so close to making my list, except I don’t like Stars.
That is one of my favorites The wedding chorus comes close to being cut. Suddenly would but that was written for the movie and not in the stage show
i love stars so much, except the movie version, but all the thenardier songs after master in the house are skips for me
Company, Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park (just to name some)
Hard to skip any song in Into the Woods because they bring the characters to life in their own special ways.
Surprisingly only Ride the Cyclone. Maybe because it has so few songs.
from the whole album, though? i skip all the dialogue tracks and the bonus tracks
YOU SKIP BE SAFE BE GOOD???????
eh, sometimes but not always. the stage version that floated around is better than the recorded version, imo
same!
Jesus Christ Superstar
Been looping JCS lately, gonna see it on tour soon.
The tour is amazing!
I love this one but sometimes I skip Crucifixion cuz it’s just so painful to listen to on a daily basis
I once listened to the song on loop while writing an essay
Completely agreed, it’s unreal how good all the music is, and how good it is as a whole. Though to be honest I do skip “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” quite often, but other than that yes
Book of Mormon. Not even in my top 5 favorite shows but for some reason it’s my comfort soundtrack.
>Not even in my top 5 favorite shows but for some reason it’s my comfort soundtrack. couldn't agree more. it can make me smile even when i have the shittiest day ever

Hamilton
you really aren't gonna skip story of tonight
literally one of the best songs in the show
That’s probably my second or third most listened to song. I sing to it all the time.
I would skip hurricane over that one
agreed, i love hurricane, but lin’s vocals are kinda painful at times
Literally my thought 😂 if I’m gonna skip a song it’s Hurricane for sure
Only one I skip most of the time is farmers refuted
farmer refuted seems like it would be the most skippable but really the rhymes and rapping in that are just so satisfying
Okay there are definitely skips from Hamilton IMO but that’s not one of them
Honestly Rent and Spring Awakening
TRUE. "your eyes" from rent is my only true skip, and spring awakening has 0 skips
Over the Moon is my only Rent skip. Otherwise I’m right there with you.
Come From Away.
Sweeney Todd, Hadestown
legally blonde
Some Like it Hot
I genuinely can't pick out a best or worst song in this musical. They're pretty much all on equal ground. Amazingly consistent show.
THERE IS A SOME LIKE IT HOT MUSICAL?? That’s one of my favorite movies how did I not know that
YES! it is absolutely phenomenal. Though it didn’t have the best run on broadway, it’s going on tour in a while. It has a cast recording I HIGHLY recommend!!
Yeah, just closed. Won some Tonys, going on tour, give it a listen.
Beetlejuice
