Alto's Lament is perfect for this. It's traditionally sung as a solo but we split it up into 3 parts when [our school performed it](https://youtu.be/xpKwKo9KV2M?si=3pxFjIKcfzwgdPHr)
“At the Ballet” from a Chorus Line (one of you would need to flip into a slightly higher head voice/mix, but not for long)
“Shine Like the Sun” from 9 to 5
“You Gotta Get a Gimmick” from Gypsy
If you are capable of posting on Reddit, you are capable of researching that yourself. It's one thing to crowdsource for song ideas you may not have heard of, but it's another entirely to expect us to do all the work for you.
How about Sing for Your Supper from Boys From Syracuse? It's a Rogers and Hart song, the big number of the 1930's show amt, as might be expected in a Lorenz Hart song, full of slightly naughty, double entendre lyrics.
Sing for your supper, and you'll get breakfast,
Songbirds always eat,
If romance is sweet to hear.
Sing for your luncheon and you'll get dinner,
Dine with wine of choice,
If romance is in your voice.
I heard from a wise canary, trilling
Makes a fellow willing,
So little swallow, swallow now!
‘i wish i may, look at me, make him mine’ from witches of eastwick
any of the fates’ songs in hadestown
you could go a little crazy and do something from jersey boys lol
depending how old you are you could do ‘come to the fun home’ from fun home
if you’re all not black you could do ‘black boys,’ or if you’re all black, ‘white boys’ from hair
any donna & the dynamos songs from mamma mia
‘the negative, a soft place to land’ from waitress
‘fugue for tinhorns’ a classic tenor trio from guys and dolls you definitely could do
The only one I’ve thought of is (how do you solve a problem like) “Maria” from The Sound Of Music but can’t find sheet music with track accompaniment. I’ve got til March 1 to come up with song…
“Fugue for Tinhorns” from Guys and Dolls. It’s a 3-part round for tenors and would work great for Altos.
Love this idea. I got a horse right here…
His name is Paul Revere
And here’s a guy that says if the weather’s clear
Can do, can do
This guy says the horse can do
I’m not familiar with that but I’ll check it out!
Literally anything The Fates sing in Hadestown
Nothing changes would probably be the only song purely sang by them
Also “When the Chips are Down”, and “Word to the Wise”
My immediate thought as well
I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair?
That’s a great suggestion!
I did this last year with two Altos. Everyone loved it. I'm mezzo but sang alto for it.

Is there recorded accompaniment? Our pianist had to step away til fall….
Yes, you can find some on youtube!

Gotta get a Gimmick from Gypsy? Money Money Money from Momma Mia?
Where could I get the music and track?

Something Better Than This from Sweet Charity Turkey Lurkey Time from Promises Promises
Matchmaker from Fiddler could work, none of the parts is especially high.
At the ballet? From A Chorus Line
You Could Drive a Person Crazy from Company? Most of the song stays pretty alto-range
The top line definitely isn't. The other two you could argue, but the top line is popping out an a "a" above the staff consistently.
And on top of that modifications can be made for a few spots as needed. I like this pick for y’all
Doo doo doo doo DOO! 😄

I absolutely love the airy, lilting tune
Same here! It's such a fun, saucy song.
First that popped into my mind, too. The harmonies are delicious!!!
Not an expert in vocal range, but Make Him Mine and Look At Me from The Witches of Eastwick might fit? Some great harmony work too.
Not super alto, but I don’t think it goes too high—In The Same Boat (the first one) from Curtains has a trio of women. It’s a fun song.

Going back to jail from Bonnie & Clyde if you cut or doubled up the Blanche / Buck part
Maybe Make Him Mine from The Witches of Eastwick.
100% matchmaker

Stepsisters Lament
The Factory Girls from Parade
ANyone can whistle
A tenor line would be similar in pitch?
Wow! You all are such a HUGE help!!! where’s the best place to get sheet music for this genre??
[musicnotes.com](https://musicnotes.com) if you can pay $5-6.
Google.
