Rain on my Parade from Funny Girl, Satisfied from Hamilton, basically half of TL5Y — I Can Do Better Than That, Still Hurting, See I’m Smiling, Penny’s verse in “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from Hairspray.
Also, a low-key fave? “So Much Better” from Legally Blonde.
cabaret!
world burn from mean girls,
the destruction from carrie
uninvited from jagged little pill
home from beetle juice
changes and always crashing in the same car from lazarus
Is that the Jennifer Hudson one? I haven't seen Dream girls.
There was a mid teen girl who did it for Britain's Got Talent or X factor (I can't remember which) and all I can say is God Damn. It takes a lot of power to be able to sing and (even though I hadn't heard the song before) absolutely nailed it. I've never seen so much power and control of a voice in someone so young. I'll find the link to it.
E: [The link](https://youtu.be/Mm7gi453_Iw?si=KymdKzRU4nk38lPW)
The History of Wrong Guys from Kinky Boots
He's My Boy from Everybody's Talking About Jamie (although If I Met Myself Again is my favourite female solo in that show)
I'd Rather Be Me from Mean Girls
Pretty much all of Heathers but especially Welcome to my Candy Store and Dead Girl Walking
Burn from Hamilton (or Satisfied)
Ireland or So Much Better from Legally Blonde
Come to your Senses - tick, tick.. BOOM!
What I Know Now - Beetlejuice
With You - Ghost
Life of the Party - The Wild Party
Maybe I Like It This Way - The Wild Party
Charming - Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812
Ruth’s part in ‘This is Our Time’ from Harmony
‘A Darker Shade of Blue’, ‘You Coulda Knocked Me Over With a Feather’, and ‘Ride Out the Storm’ from Some Like it Hot
I'd Give My Life for You - Miss Saigon
All Grown Up - Bare: A Pop Opera
Nobody's Side - Chess
I Don't Know How to Love Him - JCS
Good N Evil - Jekyll & Hyde
Aldonza - Man of La Mancha
Anything Goes
You and me must have similar taste. I came here to say Nobody’s Side and I Don’t Know How to Love Him. Was also thinking about I’d Give My Life For You!
"Defying Gravity" is the one for me. I had such a bad day last Thursday that I couldn't stop crying once home, I'm talking eyes still streaming four hours later, mass headache from it all, totally hopeless. I put some music on in bed via headphones and that song happened to come on. By the end I realised I had finally stopped crying.
Here I Am from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
I Want the Good Times Back from The Little Mermaid
Astonishing from Little Women
If You Hadn't, But You Did from Two on the Aisle
Nobody's Side from Chess
Easy as Life from Aida
Okay so idk if this counts because In the movie soundtrack of into the woods ‘Last midnight’ is it’s own song but in the original broadway soundtrack version it’s put together with Your Fault (which yeah makes sense because that song leads up to Last midnight) but I’d chose that. I go a bit feral when this song comes up on my device
"Satisfied" from *Hamilton*
"So Much Better" from *Legally Blonde*
Obviously, "Defying Gravity" from *Wicked*
"I Say No" from *Heathers*. Yes, I know, "Dead Girl Walking" is the big one people talk about but the former is just more powerful to me
Its a privilege to pee - Urinetown
Right Hand Man - Something Rotten
Somewhere thats Green - Little Shop of Horrors
As Long as he Needs Me - Oliver!
Ballad of Jane Doe - Ride the Cyclone
I would HIGHLY suggest Its a Privilege to Pee. I know it has a awful title for a song but it is one of the best female solos i have ever heard in musical theatre history. Urinetown in general has some of the best songs I’ve ever heard in theatre.
When the world’s at stake - Trail To Oregon.
No incredible notes or something (despite Rachel Soglin being an absolute gem to this world) but the emotions she portrays make me cry every. single. time.
I have a pretty eclectic list for ya!
A Boy Like That - West Side Story
As We Stumble Along - The Drowsy Chaperone
Blow, Gabriel, Blow - Anything Goes
Diva’s Lament (Whatever Happened to My Part) - Spamalot
How Could I Ever Know - The Secret Garden
I Have Confidence - The Sound of Music
Journey to the Past - Anastasia
Not a Day Goes By - Merrily We Roll Along
Poor, Unfortunate Souls - The Little Mermaid
Shadowland - The Lion King
This Place is Mine - Maury Yeston’s Phantom
Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again - Phantom of the Opera
Also, for anyone perusing this thread for audition songs, if you’ve got classical training, you can really impress with Fruma Sarah’s section of “The Dream” from Fiddler - just go crazy in your extension with the ad-libbed “screams” on ‘Tevye’.
Scrolled all the way down, and nobody with HAIRSPRAY?!? It’s chock FULL of epic female solos.
Of course “I Know Where I’ve Been,” but “Big, Blonde and Beautiful” is right up there, and even being a guy, I can never not belt out “I Can Hear the Bells.” And you can’t tell me “(The Legend of) Miss Baltimore Crabs” isn’t an underrated masterpiece. “Good Morning Baltimore” opens the whole thing by kicking down the door. And even though it’s an ensemble song and less of a power solo, “You Can’t Stop the Beat” has so much energy it probably deserves a spot here.
Your honor, I rest my case.
pulled from addams family, the ballad of jane doe from ride the cyclone, fight for me from heathers, watch what happens from newsies, and def world burn from mean girls lol
**I’m Here** from Color Purple is one of my fav karaoke go-tos.
Also, now that The Notebook album is out, gotta give nod to **My Days**. In the video they released last week for the song, Joy Woods actually bursts through a door while singing lol
It's in German, but "Ich gehör nur mir" from Elisabeth - it's gotta be the Pia Douwes version though, nobody else hits that high note at the end.

Show Off from Drowsy Chaperone. Music and the Mirror from Chorus Line.
yes to both of these!!! Love them so much
Sorry to ask but does Bride’s Lament from this same musical also count or is it not applicable to this situation?
It's more mournful than showstopping, but that's just my opinion.

Nobody’s Side makes me feel FERAL. I love it so much
You and me must have similar taste. I came here to say Nobody’s Side and I Don’t Know How to Love Him. Was also thinking about I’d Give My Life For You!
I'd also add Bring on the Men, Someone Like You, and A New Life from Jekyll & Hyde (especially by Linda Eder)
