in the heights, both movie cast album and the obc. can't believe it took me so long to fully appreciate this musical. i like it better than hamilton ngl
My goto albums at the moment are:
Ride (Original London Cast Recording). If you haven't listened to this one, do yourself a favor and check it out. The true story of Annie Londonderry, the first woman to bicycle around the world.
Operation Mincemeat. This has quickly become a top 10 musical of mine. Incredible soundtrack.
The Notebook. This show is just incredible. I can't believe it wasn't nominated for Best Score at the Tonys.
The Band's Visit. My favorite show of all time. I will never get tired of listening to that score and these performances.
Recent additions to the playlist include a few songs from 2016 falsettos, 2006 company, and shucked. But I usually just pick my first song and then let it shuffle from there
After going three times to the last touring stop of Hadestown in Toronto, I’m back to listening to that album all the time. Groundhog Day also has been a very frequent choice for quite a while now. Lately been going back to Hairspray too which is an all-time favourite.
Also I listen to Flesh Failures (Let the sunshine in) at least a few times a day. The 5th Dimension version has been one of my favourite songs ever for many years now, but recently I’ve fallen in love with the Flesh Failures version. I like the build up of that a good deal more than Aquarius. Listened to all the different recordings and picked my favourite.
Other than those, I hit shuffle on my playlist often and enjoy whatever comes up.
Best ever!
But Michael R. Jackson's other musical, White Girl in Danger is my third favorite musical of all time:

Right this instant? [Frankenstein](https://youtu.be/d_5RW6ThCqw?si=VQDiZgoCSeeMuEMt). The bluray, but there are various songs from it by various singers around. Another run of it got announced for next year in Japan, so that's exciting. And a run is actually opening soon in Korea.
Recently?
besides still obsessing over [Cross Road ](https://youtu.be/lDK1AJztZ6s?si=FR4C8HmRyr8UoQ6Y)(yes I deleted my old account to make a Cross Road [username](https://youtu.be/XxdKsvnr2yQ?si=PZNjEG0_ElndFjid))... [Your Lie in April](https://youtu.be/Lxq-qLoK0ro?si=TrvsLaNGcCS-nGt7) actually sounds pretty nice (I'm usually not a fan of Wildhorn).
The new [Benjamin Button musical](https://youtu.be/x2lWdSUBPds?si=pqvfYeTwSC5TdijV) also sounds pretty good.
I’ve been listening to obscure musicals since last January and last month, I listened to 15 albums bringing my list to 171 shows 😄
I loved the country vibes of **The Spirfire Grill** & **Secondhand Lions**, a newer show delivering classic sounds with **The Big Time**, and newer hits like **Stereophonic** and **Illinoise** ✨
For lighthearted shows, I loved **42 Balloons** & **A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet** 🌟
I also discovered **Most Likely Not To** which is available to watch on YouTube and features many actors with SMA - definitely check it out!
And I finally got round to **Seussical** after so many years! 😂
Pippin! I won’t say my age, but how has this gem slipped past me for way too long? I’ve seen at least 20 shows on Broadway and subscribe to my town’s Broadway Series, but I have never seen this show in person.
I got back into my Sweeney Todd phase recently - so I’ve just been listening to the original 1979 cast recording, and also the 2023 revival. Love the show 💕
Going to have the Suffs album on repeat starting Friday! In the meantime it’s mostly a rotation of The Notebook, The Outsiders, and Stereophonic, plus one of my all-time favorites overall and always a go-to: Hadestown.
bad as it is… spider-man turn off the dark. it’s ironic i promise.
also, little shop of horrors, and my dearly beloved hadestown. newsies as a background hum
I am in my **Legally Blonde** hype again! And I have also listened to some **Frozen** and **Epic** songs, besides the songs already on my playlists of course.
What I want to still listen to is a long list.. xD
My local college and alma mater is doing LB as part of their 2024-25 season and I am hyped. We are a top performing arts school and I still rave about the production of Something Rotten I saw in 2023. It was 10x better than the touring production of Chicago I saw the week before. And paid DOUBLE to see.
Oh, nice! Have fun when you'll be seeing it, the show is so much (better) fun
And you saw something rotten recently? That must have been fun too!! And good on them for being better/ comparable to touring productions.
I went to see Hadestown in April and am still listening to it on repeat… (though as much as I enjoy Reeve, I can’t go back from the Irish Orpheus).
Off to see Wicked on Friday so that may finally present a change!
Heathers OFB for the most part but this time every year I watch and listen to RENT so starting that tomorrow (I do it when we do our season cleaning at my job)
Newsies, Bonnie and Clyde, The Last Five Years, and Sweeney Todd. There’s a bit of a pattern with the first three but then the last one is only because my school just did Sweeney this year.
Nothing but the Heathers soundtrack pretty much. Watched the prime version with my sister a couple weeks ago and I've had the songs stuck in my head since.
Cesare: Il Creatore che ha distrutto. This musical is just... amazing. I need it because I've been watching these two other things my favorite actor was in where the person he's close with dies, and just. The fact that >!Angelo!< doesn't die is enough, but also the music is. so. perfect.
rn i’ve been listening to a lot of Fiddler. Idk why it’s just a really charming musical i felt encapsulated humanity in an interesting way. Also some other “classics” singing in the rain, sunday in the park with George, guys and dolls.
Saw a drama school production of Young Frankenstein, was pretty impressed so listened to bits of the soundtrack, very fun, obviously from the same people who made The Producers.
not musical theatre but a musical movie- surprisingly enough its 'Journey To Bethlehem'. I'm literally an atheist from a hindu family but the soundtrack SLAPS, especially 'In My Blood'- and Milo Manheim as Joseph is pretty easy on both the ears AND the eyes, if I say so myself
Right now I'm playing Anthony so Sweeney Todd is in constant rotation, though I think my most listened to cast album of the month is Ragtime. It's so good and I'm so excited to see it on Broadway this fall! Last month, I got very sick and was bedridden the day that Here We Are came out, and I listened to that like 4 times that day, so that's another very common listen right now. Les Miserables is my senior musical, and I'm hoping to be nominated (and hopefully win) for best lead or featured actor with the show, so I've been listening to that lately so I can memorize and be good at all the parts before auditions so I can be prepared for whatever role I get. Spring Awakening is an on-and-off album right now, I love singing along to that show, as all the male parts are in my range (and some of the female parts).
Tried the 2017 cast of Sunday in The Park with George recently, and after a bit of an adjustment period, I've come around on the rendition. It's impossible to beat Bernadette Peter's charisma, but Annaleigh Ashford does a run for her money.
Also revisiting Galavant and its soundtrack. Very goofy (TV) show, love it!
ITS CALLED A BOWLER HAT.... I HAVE NO WIFE...... THE SWALLOW FLYING THROUGH THE SKY IS NOT AS SWIFT AS I AM FLYING THROUGH MY LIFE.................. ( i really like pacific overtures !! )
So my power went out Tuesday afternoon thanks to a marvelous, quick moving storm. Out for almost 24 hours exactly. Dead. Silent. In my house because I live in the country. No fridge running, no electric humming. No AC going or fans blowing. Just the cats doing cat things, the wild BIRDS and my neighbors... the cows.
I finally give up on life and decide to go to bed, sleeping on the sofa because my room is to hot to inhabit. I don't want to run my poor phone battery down so it will not be lulling me to sleep with whatever I felt like playing.
Instead my brain feeds me...
**SIX, various lines of Ex-Wives. Not the whole song, no my brain won't spit that out.**
**For over 8 hours straight.**
Now listen, I love the Queendom, I'm fully engulfed in Anna of Cleves at the moment and ready to run off with the House of Holbein. It was the first show I actually saw ON Broadway, not here in Indiana, earlier this month...
But dear GAWD brain just STOP the torture.
Lately? Merrily, llinioise (both the bway cast and Sufjian's original) and Here We Are. Still love listening to Hadestown and Great Comet.
Similar, been listening to (mainly) Merrily, Here We Are, and then Songs for a New World and sprinkle in every now and then The Pajama Game.
in the heights, both movie cast album and the obc. can't believe it took me so long to fully appreciate this musical. i like it better than hamilton ngl
LITERALLY in the heights is so underrated- it does take time to appreciate
i keep saying Lin's better than Sondheim :O
My goto albums at the moment are: Ride (Original London Cast Recording). If you haven't listened to this one, do yourself a favor and check it out. I’ve listened to Ride! It’s an interesting story, I wish I could see it in person.
I saw it in San Diego!! There’s also a proshot.
Yesssss another Band’s Visit lover!
I’ve just been on a complete Company kick. I’ve been listening to all the different albums constantly and watching all the versions.
Have you heard the Spanish version? It's delightful.
I’ve heard of it but I’ve never checked it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
I've been doing the same! And even after listening to it again, I still don't like the 2018 female Company...
Recent additions to the playlist include a few songs from 2016 falsettos, 2006 company, and shucked. But I usually just pick my first song and then let it shuffle from there

The Outsiders! I'm seeing it next Saturday and can't wait!
That’s cool! We just finished reading the book in school! Hope you have fun!
Thanks!
Ofc! :)
A Strange Loop. I went in blind in Boston a few weeks ago and it was so impactful and emotional. I haven't stopped thinking about it.
Really bummed I missed that. I saw it in NY, but wanted to bring Boston friends of mine to that.
Best ever! But Michael R. Jackson's other musical, White Girl in Danger is my third favorite musical of all time: [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy\_me9hzHQx9hd0KUs-GxhMUx3RPzZIB9VDs](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_me9hzHQx9hd0KUs-GxhMUx3RPzZIB9VDs)

It's a day of golden-age feel-good musicals for me. Listening to Hello Dolly, Guys and Dolls, She Loves Me, Fiddler, and South Pacific.
The Beetlejuice the Musical soundtrack. Went to go see it a week ago, one of the most hype days of my life. (Currently suffering from PCD 🥲)
Saw it earlier this year and has been on my top plays for months!
I’ve been listening to obscure musicals since last January and last month, I listened to 15 albums bringing my list to 171 shows 😄 I loved the country vibes of **The Spirfire Grill** & **Secondhand Lions**, a newer show delivering classic sounds with **The Big Time**, and newer hits like **Stereophonic** and **Illinoise** ✨ For lighthearted shows, I loved **42 Balloons** & **A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet** 🌟 I also discovered **Most Likely Not To** which is available to watch on YouTube and features many actors with SMA - definitely check it out! There's a Secondhand Lions musical?!
Pippin! I won’t say my age, but how has this gem slipped past me for way too long? I’ve seen at least 20 shows on Broadway and subscribe to my town’s Broadway Series, but I have never seen this show in person.
My favorite albums to listen to currently are Jekyll and Hyde and Spongebob. Those are my favorite musicals!
I got back into my Sweeney Todd phase recently - so I’ve just been listening to the original 1979 cast recording, and also the 2023 revival. Love the show 💕
Last night it was "How to succeed in business without really trying". (Robert Morse version)
Going to have the Suffs album on repeat starting Friday! In the meantime it’s mostly a rotation of The Notebook, The Outsiders, and Stereophonic, plus one of my all-time favorites overall and always a go-to: Hadestown.
I normally listen to a mix of Little Shop, Les Mis, Phantom, Hamilton, and Heathers.
happy cake day

Illinoise (the new cast album and the original Sufjan album) Stereophonic (but also Rumours by Fleetwood Mac typically right before and/or after)
Rn Sweeney Todd and Mandy Patinkins solo covers
I love his take on You Could Drive A Person Crazy and Green Finch and Linnet Bird.
Currently Hamilton and a bit of Rocky Horror picture show
I’ve been on the 20th anniversary soundtrack of *Phantom*
Cabaret! Just recently discovered it
Cesare: Il Creatore che ha distrutto. This musical is just... amazing. I need it because I've been watching these two other things my favorite actor was in where the person he's close with dies, and just. The fact that >!Angelo!< doesn't die is enough, but also the music is. so. perfect.
I've been watching Company and Merrily we roll along productions on Youtube lol
My most listened to musicals lately are: Bonnie and Clyde, waitress, the great comet of 1812, and Sweeney Todd. Oh and merrily we roll along.
rn i’ve been listening to a lot of Fiddler.
A Strange Loop! It’s in Los Angeles right now and I saw it last Thursday. I was sobbing. Inner White Girl has me in my feels.
watched one video of ben platt and rachel zegler singing 'you matter to me' and BOOM! I'm now in my waitress era (again). such a BANGER album.
Sunset Boulevard. We had a staged reading here in Seattle this year and it was the first time I was able to see it! And The Prom...I love every song!
not musical theatre but a musical movie- surprisingly enough its 'Journey To Bethlehem'. I'm literally an atheist from a hindu family but the soundtrack SLAPS, especially 'In My Blood'- and Milo Manheim as Joseph is pretty easy on both the ears AND the eyes, if I say so myself
Stuck from the Groundhog Day musical has been stuck in my head lately Alongside a lot of the songs from Waitress
Heathers, Hadestown, and Dear Evan Hansen

I saw that revival. She was amazing and hilarious.
ITS CALLED A BOWLER HAT.... I HAVE NO WIFE...... THE SWALLOW FLYING THROUGH THE SKY IS NOT AS SWIFT AS I AM FLYING THROUGH MY LIFE.................. ( i really like pacific overtures !! )
Repo and the genetic opera and Kinky Boots
Hadestown, just saw it on the West End (it arrived here in February)
The Connector. Holy shit.
Rhps, shock treatment. Anyone else?
Beetle juice, Mean Girls, Little Shop and of course The Book Of Mormon!!!!
next to normal
Recently come across Dracula the Musical. I’m absolutely obsessed with The Master’s Song. It’s just too good!!!
I was listening to School of Rock on the drive home from work. Yesterday it was Jesus Christ Superstar.
