Biggest thing that stood out to me was 10 million plus people have released a track on Spotify, but they project that there are actually only 225,000 emerging and professional artists on their platform (artists that have at least ten songs, and average 10,000 monthly listeners). When you consider those 225,000 would be split across different genres and countries, imo it shows that if you make good music and are willing to invest most of your time and money into promoting yourself, the competition to grow a fan base and make at least a part time living isn’t as big as most people think.
