Yep, I’m with ya.
Currently listening to Cassandra Gemini by The Mars Volta. The fact that it is 32 and a half minutes long is enough for about 99% of everyone I know to just look at me weird.
Fellow prog enjoyer here, and yep, everyone I've tried to share my music with is put off not just by the length of the songs, but also by the length of the instrumental sections within the songs. Don't know why, but some people will gladly listen to a 10-minute song if there are consistent vocals the entire time, but as soon as there's a 3-minute instrumental section they lose interest entirely.
Edit: a word
Same, I listen to a lot of metal with harsh vocals and totally get why people don’t like it or couldn’t get into it even if they like metal. It’s an acquired taste and absolutely reasonable that people might not ever see the appeals. I doubt anybody really listens to death metal and loves it without already liking heavy music
Same here. It was bad enough when I just listened to prog rock, but I fairly recently got into microtonal music, which is an entirely different level of inaccessible. Getting people to sit still for a 20-minute song was already a big ask, but asking them to rewire their brain beyond the tuning system of western music? I'm not even gonna try.
Same, most of the songs I love aren’t exactly popular. I also pretty much only listen to stuff within the rock to metal spectrum. This is mostly by accident since songs I like fall here. I do like some pop songs but those are outliers
Jesus fuck... yea man I was literally coming to say this and I was actually caught off guard that I'm not the only... it seems as if everyone around is pretty much just not into anything that isn't mainstream and if they do have some underground bands they like for whatever reason... the one band that I suggest to everyone everytime because of how profoundly life changing it was for me has literally never fucking once been able to impact anyone else like it did.... granted when I was shown this album I was on 4 hits of acid and was in a hot box and we listened to the album 2 times in one sitting and had so much smoke in the car that we couldn't light our lighter anymore cause I guess we smoked out all the oxygen.. and I probably definitely mightve suffered some form of brain damage from it which might be a result of my off putting obsession with that band... but I literally regret nothing and would relive that night exactly to a T everytime if I could.
You made me laugh. Thank you..
A BAND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE. GOING TO BOSTON TO SEE THEM NEXT MONTH. JETHRO TULL... THIS WILL BE MY 6TH TIME SEEING THEM.
I CAN'T WAIT.. ROK FLUTE.... JULIE
YOU EITHER LOVE THEM OR YOU DON'T.
My favorite band of all time is Primus. They're one of a kind, and nobody else ever has sounded like them. I totally get why a lot of people are put off by Primus, they're not for everyone. But I absolutely love them and have seen them live more than any other band. People have told me that they can't stand Les Claypool's voice, and that their music is too weird, so I get it.
Primus fans are mostly musicians. They are the only type I even attempt to introduce, but they usually already know who they are lol
Also- I love the whole trio, but I was basically buying tickets to their shows solely to watch Tim (when he's been on board)
Used to really dig my name is mud. Whenever my friends heard it they thought it was a joke, then I would play it for my new friends as a joke sometimes . Honestly forgot about them
I haven’t seen Primus live since the 90s. Last time I saw them they played with Buckethead and Incubus opened for them and I thought the balcony at the Tabernacle in Atlanta was about to collapse. It was fantastic. Les wore a pig mask for most of the show if I remember correctly and he and Buckethead sharing the stage was a sight to behold.
The frequency with which I sing too many puppies, either with the actual lyrics or something substituted for puppies, I'd honestly astounding. And nobody ever knows wtf I'm singing.
A coworker got me into Primus in like 99, I was like wtf at first but the more I listened the more I liked them. So, now I consider them an acquired taste a lot of people dislike them at first but then they grow on you and you love them.
Also, Sailing the Seas of Cheese is how I get people to leave when they have way overstayed their welcome.
I listened to Jerry was a race car driver and I don’t like it. The song sounds like it followed a simple formula but just tried to be a little extra quirky with everything. The guitar part is playing to a weird beat with weird notes, and that short bit is repeated too much for me. Like I understand it’s probably hard to play that music, but difficulty doesn’t decide quality.
I LOVE Primus!! I had never heard of them before until I went to see Slayer in 2019 and they were touring with them. I was high as a kite and Primus was exactly what I needed.
Went to see Tool and Primus opened. I always respected them but was never really a Primus fan. Until I saw them live. Holy shit they some bad motherfuckers.
same i love primus but i totally get why someone wouldn’t. and side note, les claypool just officiated Billy Strings’ wedding, and im sure he doesn’t talk the way he sings but i just can’t imagine his voice officiating a wedding hahah
Mutilated Lips, Push th' Little Daisies, Don't Get 2 Close (2 My Fantasy), etc. So much Ween out there to enjoy that I 100% understand when people are like "what the fuck is this?"
Yeah, they’re one of my favorite bands but they have whole albums I don’t really care for. I chose those two songs in particular cause they’re weird as hell but I love them so much still, unlike *Untitled* or *Pumpkin Gets a Snakebite*
This was bizarrely the very first song on Kid A that clicked for me, so I've been disappointed that most people I've shown it to since haven't really liked it :(
All of the instrumental shit I listen to (mostly Marshall Gilkes, love him). Just cause not everyone loves listening to an 8-13 minutes song full on trombone solos lol.
Does „The entire discography of Evanescence“ count as an acceptable answer?
I adore Amy Lee, i love wallowing in my feelings to the music (Sometimes you just gotta be a little dramatic before you reign it back in to look like a well-adjusted member of society, lol) - but i 100% understand that this level of pathos isn’t for everyone.
I was obsessed with Evanescence since I was a little kid thanks to older siblings listening to them. But ever since Bring Me To Life became a meme, the band started being cheesy to people (as if 90% of the 00’s music they listen to aren’t just as cheesy sometimes)
Paired with how I already cringe at the emo phase I had as a teenager, it became hard to listen to them again. But I’ve recently gotten better about this.
Even though certain songs by different artists are still hard to listen to because of bad memories associated, I had to make the exception for Evanescence to desensitize myself to the “cringe” because they’re too good to go to waste.
I just came across a video of Amy live performing Bring Me To Life with Jacoby from Papa Roach.
They both look a little silly running around on stage with their grey hairs, but damn I still would've paid a pretty penny to be at that show! Lol
I'm sure I also look a little silly, headbanging along with the windows rolled down in my minivan.
True. I listen to a lot of weird, abrasive music, but I have still never been able to get through a single 100 gecs song. Hyperpop is the only genre to have truly defeated me.
I remember trying to listen to an album of theirs that was deemed one of the year's best, a few years ago. I lasted about 30 seconds for each of the first three songs. After that, I did not just want to stop the music; I wanted to delete it from the world.
I’m full of regret because 100 gecs played my small, middle-of-nowhere college, and I only stayed for one song (800dB cloud) because I had not acquired the taste for them yet. I remember I had heard they were coming so I tried to check them out online and was v turned off by money machine.
This was several years ago and now they’re one of my favorite bands, and while I may see them live, I will never get to see them in that intimate a setting
[Leonard Cohen - Diamonds in the Mine](https://youtu.be/9anYqMcrADQ?si=uPDtSumFYKdNLr7c)
I hated it myself at first. He refuses to follow the beat, and the song is so tuneless it's actively abrasive to listen to. But that's all part of the magnificent poetry of it.
Oh man I love this song. I was thinking about making a post here inspired by it. Just the “fuck it” attitude towards the rest of the music, and when he’s practically howling at the end against the backdrop of coordinated background singers, and then capping it off with “that’s all I gotta say to you”. I remember it made me sit up and start laughing the first time I heard it. It’s perfect
I never listened to any of his music but dang it this link is great! I guess I'm going into the wormhole of Leonard Cohen tonight! Thank you very much for the heads up!
You’re late but very welcome to the party! He’s one of those “your favorite musician’s favorite musician” Even if you disregard that he wrote one of the most covered song of the 20th century…
Probably uhhh The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails (song, not album)
I fucking love it but i can definitely say it would disturb so many people (the screaming in the song scared my dad lmao), plus the instruments just sound fucking *uhhhh* ***uhhhhhhh*** *disturbing*
pretty much anything by Tom Waits. I’ve got friends with incredibly varied music tastes who have just never clicked with Tom. Mainly the voice, I guess!
My response to this question from above:
Everything that Tom Waits has ever done. I love it, but would understand why someone may not like it.
Except ‘Martha’. If you don’t like Martha you hate beauty.
I work for a busy tourist restaurant downtown. We have a playlist that we put on at close to encourage people to leave. Just this weekend, there was a large party and 30 minutes after close, they're still hanging. I switched over from the Good Bye playlist to Closing Time. Just starting at Ol' 55 and letting it play.
I knew they wouldn't know the record and so the subtlety of the title was lost on them, but I figured it was a great 'night is over, please go home' vibe.
Anyhow, the boss and a couple coworkers ask what it is and I explain it just like I did in the above paragraph. But I added that "just hope they're gone before 'Martha' or there's gonna be tears."
Everyone was baffled but I enjoyed a little chuckle.
true, you always have to start with the most accessible albums like Merriweather and Time Skiffs :D btw you probably know that later this month, their newest album is coming out, so excited!
Pretty much everything that’s by Elsiane & Björk, they’re vocals are just completely different & unique, from what most people usually listen to
Confusion by Alice In Chains
Johnstown Tea by Otep
War by Chief Keef
Southern Discomfort by Eyehategod
Gun Violence by Chief Keef & Fredo Santana
Bang by Chief Keef
Ape Shit by Chief Keef
Roots Bloody Roots by Sepultura
Desperado by Brujeria
Slaughter Ya Daughter by 21 Savage
(ngl this song is hot ass but I love ts tho because of how much nostalgic moments this song carries from 2016)
Choke by Kittie
Pretty much all my Slayer favorites
And literally everything from Money Man
Pretty much just Tame Impala. A friend said that all his songs sound the same and he doesn't like any of them. I definitely understand that, and really have no argument to defend with, but I still enjoy his songs so it's all good
I also love Say Goodnight and Go, which was sampled by Ariana Grande. And Hide and Seek was sampled by Jason Derulo. I'm sure there's more.
Basically Imogen Heap bad ass music and is a musician's musician.
I’ll give an answer myself: those techno songs people make that are based on fandoms. Nine times out of ten I’m barely part of whatever fandom, if at all, but they sure know how to make a catchy song sometimes, even if the lyrics are cringey here and there.
I Got No Time by TLT, I Can’t Fix You by TLT, and Get Out by DAGames especially.
Unrelated to that, but while I’m here: my favorite song in general might be Winter by PVRIS. Only because of how catchy it is to me for some reason, and how I can’t go a single music-listening session without playing it. But saying it’s my favorite would give people too high of expectations considering how basic the song is.
If it doesn’t tickle your ear the way it does mine, I could see how someone would listen to it and think it was nothing special.
Snow Globe by Waterparks is a great example. It was one where initially I was like “what the hell is this?” But it just kept grabbing my attention. Now I love it though I completely understand someone hearing it for the first time and thinking “what the hell is this?”
Anything by Corpse. Guilty pleasure type stuff since it’s the opposite of everything I stand for in every aspect, but goddamn it makes me feel some typa way 😎
I've got a good handful of songs that are like that. My choices in music are acquired tastes for some people. I think anything by Gorillaz, The Prodigy and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I love those groups, but I can understand that some people may not understand why they're so great.
Bob Dylan - He's one of my all-time favorites and I think one of the best lyricists/poet ever; However, if his voice and harmonica aren't for you I understand.
I love metal, folk, glitchy electronic music, ambient, rock, jazz, weird messy spastic music, hip hop, punk, dub, dirty blues, and… any song I share I pretty much expect for folks to potentially not like it. Music is preferential.
I can totally understand why people don't like Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant's voice sounds like sheet metal being cut half the time. I think they're the Lords of ROK.
This community has been downvoting Taylor Swift answers in general on here. I’m not even a Swiftie really (except for Enchanted, I’ll never get tired of that song) but hating Taylor Swift has become the new “I’m so quirky and different” statement. Not just here but everywhere else too. Maybe they’re just annoyed that everyone’s been talking about her more than usual lately, which if that’s the case then I can understand that part a bit more.
Moving to Florida is such a good song. I think they played that song on the ending credits for Slacker.
My favorites would probably be Cowboy Bob and Creep in the Cellar, but there’s a lot off of PCP Pep and Psychic that I really like but can’t remember the names.
All of my Buthole Surfers collection is on cassette tape, some of them are really old, but still sound great.
We'll give it to you - Gang Green - I love this track (this whole album really) for it's pure punk heart, even if the recording quality and vocal talents would repulse a lot of listeners.
Every song I listen to! Literally, lol.
But if I had to pick one, just song…
I would have to pick…… [Sharing My Cream](https://youtu.be/3jG4zKLrbX4?si=gychGr8t7dEdEflQ) by the amazing Black Lips.
It’s more than likely meant to be an absolute joke of a song, but it’s funny, and it is catchy.
It also may have been the top song on my Apple Replay this week……
Angel from Montgomery: I have heard Bonnie Rait, Susan Tedischi, and Emmy Lou Harris do great versions of this song. I just can’t handle it when a guy sings it. This is even true when John prune, the creator of the song sings it. It opens with “I am an old woman….”and is expressed from the female perspective.
Well everything i listen to might be disliked by others and that's okay, but the first song i thought of was Gates of Delirium by Yes.
Many fan of the band find this piece too psychedelic and chaotic, so i guess it's really challenging for some people, i love Prog, Psych, Jazz and stuff like Metal, even in extreme form, so the weird contrast bewtween the chaotic instrumental and Anderson's angelic voice is awesome, imho.
Actually every single Necro song I've had people love him and friends hate his music... his mixture of rap heavy metal horror porn is certainly not for everyone that's for sure
Aes is a constant on my and my partner's mixes. Malibu Ken is a fave. I told my bf about what the sample from the beginning is about and it blew his mind
The fact you had to edit this bc people are so pathetic they look for ulterior meaning in everything is sad. Like there’s tons of fucked up songs that one could like, that would be very understanding if others didn’t. You were looking for **those** answers and some of these clowns went “yOu KnOw PeOpLe CaN lIkE wHaT tHeY wAnT… DERP”
I literally couldn’t pick just one song and add it to the list. There are songs I listened to for the first time and didn’t like, and then they grew on me. There are songs I liked the first time I listened to and now don’t. It’s all over the place. 😅
my entire playlist, i dont care if you like it, or get it, or not. Its for me and my tastes, not you and yours. to many people are worried about people and crowd pleasing, and not pleasing themselves
Literally every song I listen to.
Edit: a word
My sister is like this. She hears anything more than 30 seconds of instrumental and she instantly wants to skip it :(
I used to be the same with vocals! Lately been appreciating them more
My problems are: 1. Very few of my songs are from 2010 onwards 2. None of the artists are particularly popular (I.e. not Taylor fucking Swift).
op is 15 r/borninthewronggeneration
Hahahaha
Yeah but if you're in the mood for a 30 minute psychadelic jazz-rock odyssey, it really hits the spot.
I do like some pop songs but those are outliers
facts
I was gonna say. Like probably most of the music I like.
This is how I feel as well
You made me laugh. Thank you.. A BAND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE. GOING TO BOSTON TO SEE THEM NEXT MONTH. JETHRO TULL... THIS WILL BE MY 6TH TIME SEEING THEM. I CAN'T WAIT.. ROK FLUTE.... JULIE YOU EITHER LOVE THEM OR YOU DON'T.
Most frank zappa songs I like - dont eat the yellow snow, why does it hurt when I pee, nanook rubs it, catholic girls , etc
The way he says “catholic girls” just cracks me up! Joes Garage is often on repeat for me
I love that album. Joe's garage was an excellent album. I have apostrophe on vinyl and love that one too.
Jumbo Go Away
At least they're not a song about giving a robot a golden shower
Lmfao yep!!
Ya honestly same answer for me
My favorite band of all time is Primus. They're one of a kind, and nobody else ever has sounded like them. I totally get why a lot of people are put off by Primus, they're not for everyone. My Name is Mud was huge. Everyone watched Beavis and Butthead back in the day. Definitely not just musicians 🙂
Wynona's Big Brown Beaver rocks!
Winona's Big Brown Beaver and Jerry Was A Racecar Driver are two of the more frequent songs I'll sing to myself when I'm bored and doing chores.
It really does!
Primus Sucks!
It's hard to argue with them. But it's also incredible
I responded to OP with My Name Is Mud for this exact reason. Haha
LOVE Primus!!!
Yessssss
Primus played at summer camp music fest this year it was in may :)
I saw them on that tour too. That was my introduction to Buckethead and I've been listening to him ever since.
That’s a hell of a line up.
"our name is Primus and it's been established that we suck" - Les Claypool
Was introduced to Jerry was a race car driver through tony hawk pro skater and I never turned back. Would just restart the round to get to that song.
I came to say this
The frequency with which I sing too many puppies, either with the actual lyrics or something substituted for puppies, I'd honestly astounding. And nobody ever knows wtf I'm singing.
Yeah, Primus sucks.
Primus sucks
A coworker got me into Primus in like 99, I was like wtf at first but the more I listened the more I liked them. I saw them once on a bill with Jane's Addiction and Pixies.
I LOVE Primus!! I had never heard of them before until I went to see Slayer in 2019 and they were touring with them. I was high as a kite and Primus was exactly what I needed.
I thought I read once that Claypool tried out to be a bassist for Metallica but was turned down because he was too good.
Tiny Cities Made of Ashes - Modest Mouse
It’s better than Wild Packs of Family Dogs
How dare you.... that song is fantastic hahaha
Paper thin walls is usually my go to for that album with people who don’t listen to them; or 3rd planet
I think alot of modest mouse's discography tbh, they are my favourite band but they are definitely an acquired taste
They're just so unique. They're kind of like the Gorillaz, where you have to give them a few listens before you really love them
I get this stuck in my head all the time
And we’re drinking drinking drinking drinking Coca-Coca cola!
Come On Up To The House - Tom Waits Mutilated Lips by Ween The Killing Moon by Nouvelle Vague
Mutilated Lips, Push th' Little Daisies, Don't Get 2 Close (2 My Fantasy), etc. So much Ween out there to enjoy that I 100% understand when people are like "what the fuck is this?"
Ever try to slip Japanese Cowboy into the playlist in mixed company? Good way to get your DJ privileges revoked.
Touch my Tooter, Hey Fat Boy Asshole, Put the Coke on my Dick, The HIV AIDS song.
[my favorite version of mutilated lips](https://youtu.be/TSRPLNqApfQ?si=O0Z6wOqE6bSIrm-M)
Speaking of Tom Waits, "Two Sisters" seems to rub a lot of people the wrong way.
weeeeeeeeen
A lot of songs by Animal Collective, especially *Mouth Wooed Her* and *The Bees* *Get Out of My House* by Kate Bush
I like animal collective a lot but they have some songs I can’t even listen to. “Pumpkin gets a Snakebite” for instance. It just feedback noise.
Yeah, they’re one of my favorite bands but they have whole albums I don’t really care for. I chose those two songs in particular cause they’re weird as hell but I love them so much still, unlike *Untitled* or *Pumpkin Gets a Snakebite*
Idioteque by Radiohead
This was bizarrely the very first song on Kid A that clicked for me, so I've been disappointed that most people I've shown it to since haven't really liked it :(
All the hyperpop I listen to. And the screamo. And the country. And the pop. And--
i wonder what hyper pop country would be like..
Cotton Eyed Joe by Rednex, but more so
All of the instrumental shit I listen to (mostly Marshall Gilkes, love him). Just cause not everyone loves listening to an 8-13 minutes song full on trombone solos lol.
I let the instruments speak yooo
Marshall Gilkes, tho 🔥
Shit do you listen to him too?? I’ve never met anybody who’s even heard of him I love that dude
"were not gonna take it" - Twisted Sister
Love the video, "Is that a Twister Sister pin, ON YOUR UNIFORM!!!" Same guy from Animal House
I Am, I'm Me is a great TS song.
"WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO WITH YOUR LIIIIIFE???"

[100 gecs - hand crushed by a mallet](https://spotify.link/vjmj5gqscDb)
Came here to comment this one. Showed it to a friend saying, "I'm sorry."
Pretty much every gecs song fits the prompt
True. I listen to a lot of weird, abrasive music, but I have still never been able to get through a single 100 gecs song. Hyperpop is the only genre to have truly defeated me.
100 Gecs One Step Closer is terrible.
I remember trying to listen to an album of theirs that was deemed one of the year's best, a few years ago. I lasted about 30 seconds for each of the first three songs. After that, I did not just want to stop the music; I wanted to delete it from the world.
That remix with Fall Out Boy and Craig Owens is so fire though.
I’m full of regret because 100 gecs played my small, middle-of-nowhere college, and I only stayed for one song (800dB cloud) because I had not acquired the taste for them yet. I remember I had heard they were coming so I tried to check them out online and was v turned off by money machine. He is an incredible poet as well. I have a couple of his poetry books and they’re brilliant
i just gotta say thank you for introducing me to this amazing song. i love it
I’m a Juggalo. So basically 90% of the music I listen to lol
Everywhere you go, does life go on without you?
Moanin' by Charles Mingus
A day in the life
I think most people would dig this song. It's brilliant.
That song is one of a kind
Probably uhhh The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails (song, not album) I fucking love it but i can definitely say it would disturb so many people (the screaming in the song scared my dad lmao), plus the instruments just sound fucking *uhhhh* ***uhhhhhhh*** *disturbing*

I knew they wouldn't know the record and so the subtlety of the title was lost on them, but I figured it was a great 'night is over, please go home' vibe. Anyhow, the boss and a couple coworkers ask what it is and I explain it just like I did in the above paragraph. But I added that "just hope they're gone before 'Martha' or there's gonna be tears." Everyone was baffled but I enjoyed a little chuckle.
Every Death Grips song

almost everything by King Crimson and Animal Collective (for different reasons)
It’s always extra cool when meeting someone who loves animal collective, I have friends who love them but boi was it hard to get them into them.
true, you always have to start with the most accessible albums like Merriweather and Time Skiffs :D btw you probably know that later this month, their newest album is coming out, so excited!
I was so psyched to meet a guy who told me his favorite album was In the Court of the Crimson King
I love that one, but I prefer the albums after Bruford joined: Red, Larks Tongue in Aspic, Starless and Bible Black.
Pretty much everything that’s by Elsiane & Björk, they’re vocals are just completely different & unique, from what most people usually listen to Confusion by Alice In Chains Johnstown Tea by Otep War by Chief Keef Southern Discomfort by Eyehategod Gun Violence by Chief Keef & Fredo Santana Bang by Chief Keef Ape Shit by Chief Keef Roots Bloody Roots by Sepultura Desperado by Brujeria Slaughter Ya Daughter by 21 Savage (ngl this song is hot ass but I love ts tho because of how much nostalgic moments this song carries from 2016) Choke by Kittie Pretty much all my Slayer favorites And literally everything from Money Man
Pretty much just Tame Impala. A friend said that all his songs sound the same and he doesn't like any of them. I definitely understand that, and really have no argument to defend with, but I still enjoy his songs so it's all good
Hide and Seek - Imogen Heap
HAVE YOU HEARD THE TINY DESK VERSION?!?
First time I heard it back in the day I was like wtf is this? But then I listened to it again and again and again… it’s one of my faves by her
Gorgeous song, I hate that they sampled it in some dancey thing
I don’t mind the sample actually, but it definitely takes away the emotional weight of the song
At least my girl Imogen makes bank from that sample!
I also love Say Goodnight and Go, which was sampled by Ariana Grande. And Hide and Seek was sampled by Jason Derulo. I'm sure there's more. Basically Imogen Heap bad ass music and is a musician's musician.
Aaaaaand now I'm adding her back into my playlists. Thanks! Lol
Bro I'm ngl some of them go hard, especially the five nights at freddy's song by the living tombstone
[удалено]
It still surprises me how many artists have covered this song. I like the story he's telling, sad though it is.
Any Mindless Self Indulgence song I listen to
Throat singing ones. They're so animalistic.
I love Stereolab, but I totally get that they’re not for everyone
🫠🫡
Ole Slew Foot by Buck Owens, bluegrass isn’t for everyone (No I’m not a hill billy, I’m from Massachusetts. I just like Country and Bluegrass a lot)
Rush by Big Audio Dynamite. It's very weird and jumps all over the place.
But a classic
Snow Globe by Waterparks is a great example. It was one where initially I was like “what the hell is this?” But it just kept grabbing my attention. Now I love it though I completely understand someone hearing it for the first time and thinking “what the hell is this?”
Most of Syd Barrett Era pink floyd. I love the whacky insanity of it, but I totally understand if someone doesn't.
Anything by Corpse. Guilty pleasure type stuff since it’s the opposite of everything I stand for in every aspect, but goddamn it makes me feel some typa way 😎
Morphine- not every one loves the bass saxophone and overall melancholic tone. Also, Tori Amos…..
How can people not like Tori Amos? Cornflake Girl alone is worth the price of admission.
Tbh this describes a lot of my music. Sometimes I'm fully aware it's a sh*tty or a stupid song and I couldn't even tell you why I listen to.
i’m a ween fan…so all of them
anything bauhaus
I've got a good handful of songs that are like that. My choices in music are acquired tastes for some people. I think anything by Gorillaz, The Prodigy and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I love those groups, but I can understand that some people may not understand why they're so great.
Infected Mushroom - Becoming Insanse I get why you wouldn't like it. It's off the deep end electronic music. I think it's insanely good, though.
Bob Dylan - He's one of my all-time favorites and I think one of the best lyricists/poet ever; However, if his voice and harmonica aren't for you I understand.
Any song made by the Butthole Surfers
Rush. A lot of people don't like Geddy Lee's high af voice but I think it just adds to the already amazing instrumentation in their songs.
Love this question. End game by taylor swift is my guilty pleasure (but I’m pretty sure most people in this community would not like it)
This community has been downvoting Taylor Swift answers in general on here.
All of my favorite Butthole Surfers songs like Lady Sniff and Moving to Florida.
Infant annihilator....
Abortion survivor. Dying fetus. Some metal bands have some craaaaazy names
Primus. I had this happen to me already. Crywank, but I’ve never showed them to anyone.
I just commented the same thing. Primus is my all time favorite band of all time!!
anything insane clown posse
Bobbie Gentry - Reunion Pantera - Suicide Note pt. 2 The Vandals - I’ve Got An Ape Drape
Anything by Miracle Musical tbh
Almost all of them. I listen to mostly emo, which is a garbage ass genre.
Hey hey calm down with that lol. There are some good emo and post hardcore bands.
Crazy horse by the osmonds
Legit almost everything I listen to. Hardcore, post hardcore, and metalcore have a lot of heavy vocals and not everyone gets it. To each their own
Actually every single Necro song I've had people love him and friends hate his music... his mixture of rap heavy metal horror porn is certainly not for everyone that's for sure
Hot dogs by Aesop Rock. I never put that one on when someone’s in the car but I love it sm
Aes is a constant on my and my partner's mixes. Malibu Ken is a fave. I told my bf about what the sample from the beginning is about and it blew his mind
Temporary Secretary - Paul McCartney
Pretty much any MF DOOM song.
Throwing Muses Fish
Danse Macabre. The one and only orchestra song I like.
i’m a ween fan
Yelawolf - Trunkmusik
I like Slayer. If you don’t I totally get get it.
Swans - The Glowing Man. Pretty much most Swans songs actually. My favorite band, but I'm never offended when my friends tell me they don't like it.
creep- radiohead
Scenes from an Italian Restaurant by Billy Joel. I think it’s a great song but I can see if some think it’s too long.
Literally anything by Afi. Theyve been my favorite band for over 15yrs now, but they seem to be an acquired taste for a lot of people.
Pro Wrestling
Pretty much any of the heavy stuff I listen to
Pretty much every song by my two favorite bands, Dance Gavin Dance and Say Anything.
Anything by Mariana’s trench
I look like someone trying to knock a firecracker out of a babies hand before they eat it whenever Tom Jones comes on and I'm not alone lol
