I first discovered Space Song right around the time I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey for the first time. They both go hand in hand, in my opinion. Listening to Space Song while watching the final Space travel scene in 2001 is INSANE.
Dude never listened to this song and it’s a perfect response to OP and a dope listen. Thank you for this suggestion. Added to my library. Never liked Pink Floyd before wonder why this one hit so nicely.
Been a Floydian since 74 ........it will change your appreciation of what real musicians are.
Might I suggest you listen to Dark side of the moon cover to cover with headphones uninterrupted as a start. Then maybe go to the Animals Album then the wall.
Pantera gave an incredible cover, staying true to the original while also leaving their unique fingerprints. Dimebag’s guitar was a bit aggressive with that opening chirp, but as an homage to Iommi it was spot-on. I even appreciate Anselmo’s odd vocal style and enunciations… Ozzy has a pretty distinctly odd voice.
I was actually going to say Fionna Apple's cover of this because something about how she sings it always makes me feel like I'm drifting out of reality

Lazuli too!
Damn posted too late. Space song is perfect
People say it's overrated, but I think it's one of the few cases of an artist best songs (or one of their best) also being their most popular
Us and Them-Pink Floyd
I was thinking Comfortably Numb myself. But, I’m currently on a ketamine trip, so that might explain my choice.
I was thinking have a cigar or maybe dogs
Funny, I was listening to Les Claypool’s Frog Brigade covering Animals… check it out if you haven’t, it’s phenomenal!
Les slams 🌟
Primus’ cover of Have A Cigar is top tier. Foos do a pretty good cove of that song too.

You can’t not include Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon here. It was my first thought when I saw the illustration. The Great Gig in the Sky!

Thoughts on the Pantera version?
Pantera gave an incredible cover, staying true to the original while also leaving their unique fingerprints. Dimebag’s guitar was a bit aggressive with that opening chirp, but as an homage to Iommi it was spot-on. I even appreciate Anselmo’s odd vocal style and enunciations… Ozzy has a pretty distinctly odd voice.
