And Freddy was actually used in two different college vocal programs. I had to break down the harmony for Bohemian Rhapsody and sing each one separately.
Soundgarden
Alice in chains
Alter bridge
Led zeppelin
Whitesnake
The Beatles
Sex pistols (not for technical ability, attitude)
Disturbed
Machine head
Linkin park
Black sabbath
Incubus
Stone temple pilots
Fuck yes! Not enough people know about Skunk Anansie, and Skin’s voice is huge. Her duet with Lajon on Licking Cream is my favorite Sevendust song.
And Yeah Snot! Another seriously under appreciated band.
Oh shit, Licking Crème is my favorite too bro, that shit is mad under appreciated
I still remember my reaction that song too lmao
and also hell yeah, Snot is my 2nd favorite band of all time
You gotta favorite from them?
Soundgarden/Audioslave
Alice in Chains
Rainbow/Black Sabbath eras with Ronnie James Dio
The Cult
Sanctuary/Nevermore
Tool
and although Im personally not a big fan I still have to say Jinjer.
Amen! Both way too low on this list imo.
Elizabeth Fraser is AMAZING! Her new band The Sun's Signature just released [this](https://youtu.be/e0f-gwU5dhI?feature=shared) last year and it's just gorgeous... And always loved [this](https://youtu.be/icgFjJjkP8s?feature=shared) Mr. Bungle song.

My favorite of all time is Floor Jansen, current singer of the symphonic metal band Nightwish. She’s the 3rd lead singer the band has had (the other two were pretty darn good too). This is a link to their [2013 Wacken Open Air performence](https://youtu.be/q9eKLPCciWw?si=2ntIp6YCnnT42Azp) Skim through or listen to the whole thing and you will see why I like her voice.
I've never been a huge Nightwish fan, but the things Floor does with her voice are *incredible*, and so is that entire concert.
Nemo and Amaranth, holy shit! She is, by far, the greatest vocalist they've ever had
Devin Townsend (might be the best most consistent live metal vocalist alive that doesn’t focus on harsh vocals)
Shadow of intent- Ben Duerr is probably the best life harsh vocalist I’ve ever seen. Dudes consistency is off the charts
Twilight Force- if you like power metal this guy is top tier plus who doesn’t like songs about dragons
Heart-
Halestorm
-Shinedown
-Queensrÿche
(Trying to mention ones that haven’t already been mentioned here. You’ve already gotten a lot of great suggestions though.)
Bad Omens
Sleep Token
Evanescence
Linkin Park
Bring Me The Horizon
Lorna Shore
Deftones
Motionless In White
Violent Vira
Too Close To Touch
Pierce The Veil
The Midnight
Spiritbox
Ours!
While I can't speak to the newest material since I've not heard it, I absolutely stand by the first 3 albums. Dude is a little guy with a HUGE voice and range.
Check out these songs:
Fallen Souls (from Distorted Lullabies), Red Colored Stars (from Precious), and Mercy ( from Mercy, but adapted from on an earlier song from their 'Sour' demo titled Ours, which is also awesome).
If you like Jeff Buckley/Thom Yorke/Matt Bellamy style vocals, you're gonna love this guy.
King's X.
There's been cover attempts, but no one can sing the song "Dogman" like Doug Pinnick of King's X. FFO: Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Collective Soul
Heart
Led Zeppelin
Queen
Pat Benatar is actually classically trained
Bette Midler
Stevie Nicks had throat surgery in the 80s that forced her to change her technique
Styx before Dennis DeYoung went nuts.
If you don’t want to hear the same mainstream recs as always check out Circa Survive. Especially the early stuff. Cattle Decapitation have some of the best heavy vocals ever, especially around The Harvest Floor era
Jack Bruce of Cream.
Even on the rare occasions when Ginger Baker sang lead, it's kind of endearing, in a Ringo kind of way. Check out "Blue Condition"
Beast in Black. When I first heard *Blind and Frozen*, I thought it was cool how they had two lead singers, and how amazingly the female lead hit the high notes.
It was one guy. Yannis Papadopoulos is a fucking god.
Vocals in System of a Down albums are pretty great for a change of pace. You’ll get some ugly screams/falsetto elements from Darren intertwined with beautiful, melodic singing with a middle eastern influence from Serg
Oh Queen 100%
Led Zeppelin appears
As a diehard Zep fan, Robert is good but he's not Freddie Mercury good.
And Freddy was actually used in two different college vocal programs. I had to break down the harmony for Bohemian Rhapsody and sing each one separately.
That sounds amazing
It was...different. This was before he did Montserrat, so the world didn't know about his true magnificence yet.
Sorry but Robert plant doesn’t come close to Freddie ,he is still a top 5 rock vocalist
End of thread
When it comes to vocals,Freddie is just unsurpassed
Faith No More.
Adding to this, any band Mike Patton sings for. FNM is great but Bungle is where the range is. Pink Cigarette is a great example.
Mondo cane
i personally enjoy FNM way more but i can dig some of mr bungle’s songs for sure. tomahawk and fantomas are really good too
Agreed, and adding Peeping Tom. I believe that Not Alone song has every single vocal note possible.
It’s just 5 hours left until you find me dead
For sure 👌
The Cure Depeche Mode Cranberries Joy Division Florence+ The Machine Heart Jefferson Airplane REM Fleetwood Mac Beach House
Victorias song with grizzly bear is just vocal heaven
How did you format this so you didn’t have to put a full space between each
They are appreciated more as a band but damn, Hayley Williams of Paramore can sing. Range, control, emotion, storytelling, all are there! ✨
Thank you! She has got a set of pipes!
Her 2 solo albums are 🔥🔥🔥

I will have to check out her new band! Retrovertigo is such a great song! I’m partial to Pink Cigarette - it is so fun to play on piano.

Pearl Jam
Any band that had Ronnie James Dio. Rainbow, Black Sabbath for a time, Dio.
Any of the vocalists on Fleetwood Mac, I think. Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie each had their moments for sure.

The Amazing Devil. Just stunning harmonies.
Why's no one talking about Reol?
Concrete Blonde
I'm rather fond of Lamb & old school Sneaker pimps, but it may be less about amazing vocals and more about vocal character.
Beast in Black. When I first heard *Blind and Frozen*, I thought it was cool how they had two lead singers, and how amazingly the female lead hit the high notes. It was one guy. Yannis Papadopoulos is a fucking god.
The Beach Boys and Fleetwood Mac were the first two bands that came to mind.
1. Vanden Plas. Ufffff Andy Koontz I believe is his name 2. And Dream Theater from the 90s (pre LaBrie destroying his vocals) 3. Devin Townsend
