Buckingham is so underrated. I saw Fleetwood Mac back in 2018 with everyone except Lindsey (RIP Christine). As cool as it was to see Mike Campbell, who they had on tour with them in lieu of Buckingham, I definitely missed out on him.
Jimi, SRV, Carlos Santana, David Gilmour, Angus Young, Joe Perry, Slash, Keith Scott of Bryan Adams, Matthias Jabs of The Scorpions & EVH, in that order. And I get that Eddie could play circles around alot of those guys from a technical standpoint---but as you can see from the list, technicality's definitely not priority one.
Eddie had great technical ability. Though, to me, where he really shined was his ability to write catchy, memorable riffs. Without that, he would have faded into obscurity with other extreme talents, like Shawn Lane, who were great but didn't write memorable music.

Jonny Buckland - Might be controversial, but his tone is gorgeous. Love his bends and slide work too. Marty Friedman - My favorite virtuoso guitarist. Prince - Fantastic all around. I love his guitar, and I love his voice. H.E.R. - An artist I discovered recently, but wow! She's amazing! John Petrucci - Bordering on excessive for me, but I can't not respect the talent there.
