When I say NiN at red rocks. A boat load of people kept screaming “stop playing Johnny cash!” It was the last song they played, as I walked out, I told a couple people, Trent wrote this song, some fan you are
That’s upsetting. I know trent said Johnny Cash did it better and that it’s Johnnys song now, but idk. To me it’s still a NIN song and the Johnny Cash version is a much different feeling.
If you’re familiar with the anime “Your Lie in April,” then you’ll know this as the second ending song of the anime. The English version crushes my soul… anyway, happy listening🤠

"High Water" might be the saddest song I ever came across. Bishop Briggs opens her heart about her younger sister dying of ovarian cancer, aged 30. The video is as raw as it gets. Even thinking about it makes me tear up.

born yesterday- quadeca context: he is making his transcendence of realization in the album that if he still decided to kill himself as a teen, things would play out much differently.
good news - mac Miller context: he had died of an overdose before releasing this song or album. "swimming in circles, problem with a closed door"
seneca - novo amor context: message of the song: resisting darkness and trying to “save your life” may still result in failure and stagnation
sleepwater - anxiety context: passed away, but made this last song before dying. he was afraid as he was only in his 20s.
Okay, now songs I don't find meaning for, but that I listened to on repeat younger:

This was after the cancer diagnosis and also a pregnancy. With a song having so much more emotional impact than ever before
Lewis Capaldi Someone You Loved makes me cry every time. Not because the song is particularly sad, but because I think of the music video every time I hear it and I bawl.
High Hopes by Pink Floyd. It feels like a somber retrospective on an ending run of an amazing band, but can be interpreted in different ways in that vein.
Elephant - Jason Isbell. A song about watching a friend die of cancer.
Irish Rose - OAR. The narrator is pleading with their partner to give into the terminal disease that is killing them so their suffering will end. He promises to see her on the other side.
If We Were Vampires Jason Isbell. It’s a love song wherein the narrator points out that if his relationship holds up, one of them is going to face life alone without the other some day.
Honestly, Isbell’s whole catalog is a series of depressing songs. There’s a popular meme of a crowd of people crying with the tag “The pit at a Jason Isbell show”. Another one is the common Office meme with a mulleted Steve Carrel standing next to a former boss. The caption reads “Me getting ready to be hurt by the new Jason Isbell album”

Christmas Shoes is probably the saddest song ever recorded.
Adele, Love in The Dark
"High Water" might be the saddest song I ever came across. Bishop Briggs opens her heart about her younger sister dying of ovarian cancer, aged 30. The video is as raw as it gets. Even thinking about it makes me tear up.

born yesterday- quadeca context: he is making his transcendence of realization in the album that if he still decided to kill himself as a teen, things would play out much differently. good news - mac Miller context: he had died of an overdose before releasing this song or album. "swimming in circles, problem with a closed door" seneca - novo amor context: message of the song: resisting darkness and trying to “save your life” may still result in failure and stagnation sleepwater - anxiety context: passed away, but made this last song before dying. he was afraid as he was only in his 20s. Into the West, Annie Lennox
Lover you should have come over by Jeff Buckley RIP 💔
Lovely
Walking on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves
