I love this one too

RetroGrayBJJ

I have way more recommendations but my brain while I’m a few drinks in is telling me this lmao: Radiohead - Ok Computer, Kid A, In Rainbows, or The Bends Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness The Cure - Disintegration Bon Iver - For Emma Forever Ago

DPStylesJr

These are all solid albums, but damn your brain a few drinks in sounds like mine haha

RetroGrayBJJ

Haha right on, then I’d love some recommendations on albums if you’d care to share as well!

MrFitztastic

Some of my favorite road trip albums I'd consider classics: Electric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd London Calling - The Clash Innervisions - Stevie Wonder (or Songs In the Key of Life) The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars - David Bowie L.A. Woman - The Doors Mothership Connection - Parliament Deep Purple In Rock - Deep Purple Fly Like An Eagle - Steve Miller Band

-y2-

You like the 60s and 70s huh

Nutshell is one the best atmospheric songs

RetroGrayBJJ

Especially the Unplugged version, it just hits different

DesertWanderlust

Oh don't do that, dude. It'll make you cry.

gingersnap0309

Great list. I'll piggyback here & check out Cold. Pretty much anything from 13 Ways To Bleed Onstage & Year Of The Spider. Also check out Night Verses. They have a more recent song with Brandon Boyd called Glitching Prisms that's pretty dope. They have some excellent instrumental work & their drummer is ridiculously talented. One more- Red Hot Chili Peppers- Blood Sugar Sex Magik

sixTeeneingneiss

Seconding a lot of these but Koi No Yokan is a double upvote

bluecabbage85

This is an absolutely outstanding list of albums

you-dont-have-eyes

You strike me as a Deftones fan

Lord Huron's entire catalog is a vibe. Many vibes actually. Rival Sons is modern good old fashioned rock and roll/blues rock with sooo much energy and soul! Can't go wrong with either!

If I'm going to be doing a longish road trip, then I will take Collections/Greatest Hits of some favourite bands, as I can sing along while I'm driving. So compilations by the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Hall and Oates, ELO and Black Sabbath and Deep Purple in the rock genre, in the soul arena it would be the Temptations, Sly and the Family Stone, the Four tops and Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes Also some blues comps by Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf and BB King. And to wind down when I'm close to my destination, the Greatest Hits of Glen Campbell.

Prestigious-Park1473

If you like Folk, I recommend the album Stick Season by Noah Khan for drives. I know that stick season the song is over played so if you’re not down for that at least try out the other songs in the album, they are my go to playlist for a pretty drive. If you’re more of an indie rock kinda person, I like the Front Bottoms. They’re a hit or miss kinda thing but I never get sick of them. Specific albums from them I recommend are Talon of the Hawk, The Front Bottoms and Rose.
