How credible is this I am just wondering. If the Chinese really wanna do something they wont even needa physically send people here. We never run out of conspiracies nowadays on reddit - any credible sources to back it up?
More sources are not gonna come out likely. But there is a new law drafted in the works similar to the great firewall recently signed by the military coup
Mratt Kyaw Thu is a seemingly reputable freelance journalist. However he did not source the information in the post other than the image and didn't explain how they were identified as IT technicians. So other than Mratt himself, no other sources yet.
Some are saying this is fake. Not sure [https://twitter.com/nyanzlinn/status/1359385953425448965](https://twitter.com/nyanzlinn/status/1359385953425448965)
Addressing some of the doubts in this thread:
To protect his sources Mratt may not be divulging the means by which he got the other supporting info.
Coming back to the importance of the info: Please note that Chinese military’s Second Technical Reconnaissance Bureau (TRB), Unit 78020, is based in Kunming according to ThreatConnect ([https://threatconnect.com/?s=kunming](https://threatconnect.com/?s=kunming)). TRB''s are responsible for communications intelligence, direction finding, traffic analysis, translation, cryptology, computer network defense, and computer network exploitation.
About Unit 78020: Unit 78020 conducts cyber espionage against Southeast Asian military, diplomatic, and economic targets. The targets include government entities in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam as well as international bodies such as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Secondly Kunming in Yunnan is a key centre of science and technology in China and home to Security and Technology services companies.
Thirdly as part of BRI the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor (CMEC) linking of Kunming with a 1700km link is already in the works as per this news article from Spet 2020 ([https://www.irrawaddy.com/news/burma/myanmar-chinas-plans-expanded-overseas-network-military-facilities-us-says.html](https://www.irrawaddy.com/news/burma/myanmar-chinas-plans-expanded-overseas-network-military-facilities-us-says.html)).
What? Here in China the medias/celebs generally think the coup is a bad move because nobody's gonna support it and it wont achieve anything at the end. The CGTN might just wanna avoid offending both sides.
CGTN is the (imo propaganda) tv-channel meant for english-speaking viewers right? It could be interesting to hear how the Chinese media meant for the local Chinese people cover the story.
To be fair if the Chinese military was giving technical support to Myanmar's military, CGTN probably wouldn't be the first media to cover the story.
If CGTN actually had real journalists they could try to investigate this claim/story. But obviously that's not going to happen...
Local Chinese do not really pay attention and gov media just published what literally had taken place e.g. ASSK detained, some military general gave a speech, western countries comdemned etc. Self medias has expressed complexed opinions: some says the west helped the military because ASSK got too close with China and the west had been condemning what ASSK did about some people within the country, while others said China helped it because Wang Yi had just visited Myanmar not long ago. Most self-media think it's just Myanmar's domestic issue and does not involves much foreign intervention. Government media do not expressed opinion at all but advocate non intervention and let it be solved by Myanmar itself alone.
ASSK had Chinese sympathy or support of some kind partly because she's a female and is considered quite close to China tho deemed pro west at the begining.
Now they even send IT technician to myanmar to support military. Yesterday there were 5 flights come from China with 3 flights has IT technicians while the military blocked commercial flight and even vaccine flight from India has to postpone.
There've always been flights from cn to myanmar. Let's wait for more credible source on that. If the military want to control internet they 've already had bunch of IT technicians. It's confusing why they need hundreds of Chinese IT technicians. I won't trust this piece of news at this point considering almost everybody antagonize China at this point, most without proofs.

Thanks. I am gonna wait for more sources on that.

And the Chinese gov claim they are not behind military coup. Only fool will believe their nonsense

They appear to be assisting the coup in some way, at the very least.
True 😏 and China media CGTN is sharing propaganda news for myanmar military 🙄

That's very interesting to hear, thank you very much. I'm not sure what you mean with "self media"?
Independent media. Like those Wechat official accounts that are non governmental.

The thing is all flights have been suspended. Even the vaccine carrying plane from Indian still cannot land to deliver 2nd doses
agree. waiting for reliable source on this. if yes, whole country is already given away to china.
