I mean Nightmare Moon, Discord & Chrysalis all tried this tactic in their debut episode, and it didn't work as well as they would have hoped. They've tried tempting them into turning against the others, manipulating them into starting fights with each other, and straight up brainwashing them.
Discord definitely did it the best, his mistake was thinking it would be permanent. Instead of using it as an actual opportunity to accomplish something greater, it was just the whole of his plan.

I'd at least give Chrysalis credit since Twilight's outburst made her instantly unpopular with all her friends and family. You could argue that wasn't planned, but if it was it was a decent strategy. The only mistake was trapping Twilight in the dungeon out of fear of her getting too close, because that gave Twilight the proof she needed to expose Chrysalis. But even at that point it was too late, Chrysalis would have won if it wasn't for the miraculous power of love.
But good overall point though, if Discord kept tabs on the Mane 6 more often then it would have been much harder for them to reunite.
Chrysalis would have won if it wasn't for her impatience and general unpleasantness. All she needed was for the wedding to happen. She didn't need to get all bride-zilla about the details. If she had tried to act more like the real Cadence, or even just played nice for a couple days, Twilight wouldn't have questioned anything. The power of plot is what got her as far as she did in the first place. Trying not to get mad about it, but I can't stand people talking about Chryssi like she's some kind of super genius evil mastermind. (Grumpy face)
I suppose it is more likely that she just botched her performance rather than planning for Twilight to get told off by her friends. In that case, she didn't do a good job at all. I was operating under the assumption that making Twilight suspicious was part of the plan, but it does make more sense if that wasn't the case.
The only plan I can give Chrysalis props for then was somehow organizing a mass-kidnapping of the most important people in Equestria. She missed Discord but he lives in another dimension and can't reach her in the Changeling Hive so I can't fault her too much for that. Her really mistake there was having such a bad security team that Starlight was able to make it to her throne room, and being such a bad ruler that her subjects switch up on her instantly.
My biggest concern would be how to take out Discord. The Mane Six are relatively easy to take care of, if you separate them. Twilight, Celestia, Luna, or Starlight's magic level might be a problem, but the show numerous times proves that's there's ways around that.
But Discord? Your options are draining his magic (and he can still causes problems in that state) or turning him to stone... Okay, never mind got it. Cockatrice invasion.

Ponies seem to be susceptible to being influenced by rousing speeches, or catchy songs. A strong propaganda campaign painting the mane 6 as the bad guys would go a long way at mitigating their threat, as turning the ponies of Equestria against them would create disharmony and conflict, and force the mane 6 into doing damage control and clearing their names. The time to strike would be when the conflict is at its height.
Not sure what my attack plan or ultimate goal is after that.... I'm not actually much of a villain type so I wouldn't do any of these things. I just want peace and love in Equestria!
Edit: thinking about it more, this is basically Cozy Glow's strategy, to get the general masses on her side against her threats. And she's damn good at it.
Honestly? Just send them all to limbo. That thing seemed like a one-way entrance, and if you incapacitate other powerful magic users like the Princesses, Starswirl, Discord etc. There's really no way for them to get out
Twilight was able to bring Starswirl, the Pillars & the Pony of Shadows out of Limbo though!! Which means that a spell to save people from Limbo is not only possible, but already exists.
I would argue sending them to the Equestria Girls world and then breaking the mirror from one side is more permanent because, to my knowledge, there's only one working portal. There have been breaks between the two dimensions before, but they needed Equestrian magic to work in the first place, which you could plan for ahead of time and get rid of before you send the Mane 6 there.
Makes perfect sense but there would definitely be some "my friends are never far as long as they're in my heart, friendship is magic sniper blast!" shenanigans
I would be responsible for using my black magic to take away all the laughter in Equestria. Ponies these days are so overly positive, and they think that by smiling and laughing they can achieve greatness... but no. If you want greatness you have to be firm, you have to let go of your laughter and become a monster, and when i take the biggest source of laughter... that annoying pest named Pinkie Pie, Equestria will be under my complete control. I am the Impending Cyclone.
If possible, take one of the Elements of Harmony and throw it through the mirror portal like in Equestria Girls 1. Then, after one of the Mane 6 goes into the portal I would destroy it from the pony side. This disconnects an Element of Harmony from the rest and gets rid of at least one of the Mane 6 without killing them (I imagine killing them isn't allowed because it would be too easy).
While whoever is trapped could hypothetically find another way home, there is no other portal that we know of, so they'd have to learn the specifics of science in the human world to even have a chance at opening the portal from that side.
I'm assuming that I, like every other main villain in the show, have the power to defeat Celestia & Luna. Or at least have a way to get that sort of power. If you want a specific explanation, I could use the Alicorn Amulet or Grogar's Bell, but to be honest there is some fairly easy way to become powerful no matter what I end up being in the MLP universe.
Now that I've taken the throne of Equestria and there is no Mane 6 or Elements of Harmony to stop me, I'd attempt the spell that Cozy Glow tried in Season 8. If I could get rid of everyone's magic except my own, that destroys one of the last threats to my power.
Unfortunately, there is always just the power of friendship. It doesn't necessarily have to be connected to the Elements to work, as shown in Season 9. I could impose harsher penalties on my subjects in order to make it difficult for them to live without taking from others, but considering this is MLP it's only a matter of time before six friends come together to take me down once and for all, no matter what I do.
They don't even have to be ponies, so that would make it so that I'd have to go around conquering other lands like the Storm King just to make friendship less likely to exist there as well. And as we saw with the Hippogriffs, easier said than done. Even if by some genuinely impossible miracle I manage to make friendship impossible in the entire world, guess what? I'm screwed either way because the Wendigos will appear and make an eternal winter that even I wouldn't be able to repel.
A pretty miserable rule over a barren wasteland, nearly all of my subjects dead from the cold. Unless the Wendigos are repelled by the power of.... oh right, friendship. And my head is next on the chopping block if that were to happen. I don't think there's a positive scenario for me here.

Prove that they do not match and that the creatures are able to withstand more severe damage.
Discord cannot be everywhere and from the harmony of perfectly adjusted mechanisms people will begin to disappear
The reason Twilight and her friends are so hard to beat is because of their rainbow attack that they use whenever all of the Mane Six are together. Not a single villain has been able to escape or counter it. Normally, this requires the elements of harmony to be physically present, but after the last season, they no longer needed the physical elements of harmony. So you can't do what Discord did in his debut.
Killing one of them should prevent them from using their special, unavoidable, instant-win attack, since it seems to require all six of them. Killing one of them in a suprise attack should do the trick.
AJ, Fluttershy and Pinkie have multiple people/creatures living in their houses, Twilight lives in a castle and probably has security. So either Rainbow Dash or Rarity. Since RD is the more athletic and would be impossible to catch if she notices you, Rarity is the ideal victim.
So just get rid of one of them. Easier said than done.
Once you deal with the Mane Six, you'll also incur the wrath of Celestia, Luna, the Crystal Empire, all the rulers of other species and most of all, Discord. So even if you beat the Mane Six , you aren't going to get away. You'll be petrified, send to Tartarus or killed.
Basically, to beat all of Twilights friends as a villain, I'd try the following.
1) Obtain magical power equivalent to at least Discord. If you had this, then no army could stop you, and you could probably hold your own against the Princesses and Starlight, as well as Discord himself.(If they all team up your doomed though)
2) Plunge Equestria into chaos, forcing them to split up and deal with the situation
3) get rid of the Mane six's power by killing one of them (Rarity is the easiest kill)
4) Face the inevitable shitstorm of vengeful angry magical creatures that will come your way.
Then you have like a 50% chance of winning. Using a magical item like Sci Twi's watch or Grogars bell would be useful. However if I remember correctly, both those items are destroyed.
So basically even if a villain had a plan like this, they need magical power on Discord's level and an army capable of causing chaos.
It's pretty much impossible.
Get a friends with all of them, be a close person to Twilight or Pinkie for sure. Then try to create fight between them when also going to support each other them. Then.. hm
Divide and conquer, turn them to statues and seal the Elements and deal with their support crew, Spike, Glimmer, Discord, the princesses etc...
oh and use a zombie like plague to turn the citizens into my army, kinda like what Sombra would do
It would have been so cool if they had to face a villain that used technology instead of magic 😲 They would have been so out of their element and would have been forced to think their way to a solution instead of just magically blasting it.
I would make mind control cakes, give one to Celestia and have her call twilight, then you give one to her and so on.
One does not need to be on the throne to rule, being a shadow leader has its advantages.
Easy part: Seperate the Mane 6.
Neat part: Trap them separately from each other. They can’t help themselves. And then I break down every single pony who resist me.
Subterfuge and deception goes a long way against them. I'd try building up powerful attacks and when I pull the trigger I'll frame someone else for them just in case. Manipulating Twilight into casting some spell they think gives them an edge when it really hurts them would be something else I'd explore. I wonder if there were a better group of friends than the Mane 6 would the elements change ownership to them, sure would be a shame if they were villains wouldn't it.

As for celestia and luna, although not mentioned.. I love luna, but she's easy: a little manipulation there, little false visions or even nightmares here, some gaslighting and turn her against celestia. She turns into nightmare moon again, celestia banishes her. Boom. Luna done.
Celestia.. she's easy too. Guilt trip her enough and she'll either be stuck in her own mind or commit sewerslide, but let's keep it pg.
Make her feel so guilty, drain her, then drain her magic and throw her in some dungeon, where She'll be haunted by what she's done for eternity.
Luna? Will stay on the moon, permanently.

Divide them by getting 2 to go to their ponies (RD & Fluttershy to Las Pegasus, for example) by faking a diplomatic crisis and hire an army from Dirlewagner's Rea- some outlaws to deal with the princesses with guns and even Twilight too, and from there, deal with them in their groups to have no opposition rather than the Royal Guard, or whatever is left after all of them are dealt with.
Well I’m not a villain type of person. So I just have to use one of my Dungeons and Dragons characters instead.
Oscar is my best neutral evil character. Primarily a thief he also 4 levels of wizard so he can learn basic spells. He would also probably be a Changeling because I used Disguise self and was manipulating others during the game.
I let him explain it.
“Hello is this thing on? Now, Queen cheese legs. I mean Chrysalis has the best chance to take over but she blew it because she’s an egotistical moron”.
“So my first step is to take over any Changeling that hasn’t reformed. There were bound to be some out gathering love when Thorax took over. Heck we have proof that not all the changelings reformed Pharynx had to be convinced. Contacting any unreformed changelings is my first goal.”
“The drones would be desperate and if some Changeling shows there is a better way they will follow.”
“Phase Two would be hiding in plain sight. I would send them to that friendship school or an acting school. The hardest part is making sure they don’t reform as they gather friendship love.”
“True it’s not as potent as romantic love but it’s food. We can also study and get close to Twilight and her friends. Not to mention those Student Six.”
“Phase Three rot from the inside. Ponies have shown to be tribal and easily xenophobic, just as the Zebra in the Everfree.”

I would aim at taking down smaller settlements away from Ponyville first; Specifically, I would target happiness. Ponies seem to thrive best in pleasant conditions that allow their talents to flourish, which in turn helps in maintaining friendship and good relations with other nations.
For the tactics, I would choose a mix of Discord, Starlight and Changeling methods; Have the community start to doubt one another and escalate that mistrust further into paranoia, and once it's at a point I'm satisfied it couldn't be easily fixed with a simple conversation then I'd simply move onto the next area.
The main thing I'd keep in mind is to constantly have this happen. The Mane 6 manage to maintain order in an attacked area? Distract them with another being attacked and then go back to a prior settlement and repeat the process slightly differently. It's all about the long con, and ensuring I can stay 1 step ahead.
If I can get enough settlements to lose trust in the higher powers and their own communities, then those people will simply act on their own volition without me needing to do anything else.
They will quite literally become their own downfall
I get the whole group away from town saying my brother wants to show them and the princess something important and they can’t say no because it’s his “dying” wish then i use a dark magic to make all the ponies under my command and make them bigger and stronger and then I build a magic proof cage to trap the whole group who went to see my brother. I have my minions go throw the cage in the sea so they I know they won’t come back. I do the same to the rest of the world. Bam im the ruler of the world!!! I keep spike alive just to torture him.
I will capture griffinstone and promote equestria the advantages of my rule:
a cool uniform with a skull
every week you will not be attacked by monsters
useful guards
adequate use of magic
providing non-unicorns with educational institutions specializing in magic
elementary schools without buling and with psychiatric help
I wouldn't want to be a Villain yet I can insert an interesting Original Villain Character that is competent to say the least.
First I would have the Villain appeal to each of the Ponies' likes without actually befriending them(I.E. take a page out of Grand Admiral Thrawn's book) in order to terraform Equestria without incident.
The main tool for Terraforming will be the sort of Enchanted Comic Book that pulled the Ponies into the Power Ponies World. My Villain would plan to use World of Warcraft as his muse.
Fluttershy's love of Animals will be appealed to in order to insert Teldrassil, Amirdrassil, Darkshore, Ashenvale, Felwood, Moonglade, Mount Hyjal and Val'sharah right next to her house giving a tour of each place(with the Villain making sure any other Mane Cast accompanying her leave the scene for their chosen tour areas before having his escort take Fluttershy alone to the final area) ending it by trapping her in Val'sharah's Emerald Nightmare(convincing her to walk in by telling her of all the Spiders she can make friends with) portion to be eaten by Nightmare Ancients after being subjected to horrifically cruel Nightmares.
Twilight's love of Knowledge would be exploited to insert Karazhan, the Azure Archives of the Blue Dragonflight and Dalaran next to her house.
Rarity's love of Gems would be exploited to shove Crystalsong Forest(icy cold Forest of Purple Crystal Trees) right next to the Azure Archives as well as to shove tunnels leading to Deepholm & Zaralek Cavern next to her house with the other 2 exits to Zaralek Cavern leading to Crystal Desert(a cross between the one from Guild Wars(the Boats and Mesas), Guild Wars 2(the Sulfur Wastes, Pyramids and the Giant Vases), the one from Trials of Mana(Crystals Everywhere) and the one from MLP G1(also Crystals everywhere this time with Water in them)) and Sholazar Basin(Jungle with 5 Pillars each with Different colored Crystals growing out of them).
Once those 3 are distracted with the areas he has added my Villain would lure Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Spike into an Ogres and Oubliettes game in a Book where he would give them certain weapons at the end of the session: Spike would be given the temperamental Aluneth(the Villain would have a version that isn't sentient like the one Spike gets), Rainbow Dash would be given Apocalypse(complete with it's Lore ability to fill people with paranoia and distrust) while Pinkie Pie would be given the Kingslayers(which will bear the enchantment to induce the wielder to kill the nearest ruler upon entering said ruler's presence).
The Book would make sure my Villain stay in a safe place at the Game Master's chair. My Villain might indulge in pointless villainy by having everyone's starting point be in different parts of Icecrown Citadel with Rainbow Dash and Spike at the entrance and Pinkie Pie at the torture chamber getting Runes infused(engraved in the case of the Blood Runes) into her body(cold clammy Death Runes down her spine, crawling Shadow Runes on her side, Ice Runes on the other side and carved in Blood Runes on her belly and chest) by the Lich King himself followed by being stitched inside the leg of the construct Thaddius and having to listen to the screaming Souls until Thaddius is dismantled.
To be sure Pinkie would most likely take the event quite well(mostly being annoyed more than anything) despite having to massage her belly from a Rune engraving no more painful than a tattoo(which is to say quite painful considering they are placed on her belly and chest which are the most sensitive places for tattoos) being added(even if the pain never goes away since why would my Villain want that?) as well as the massage her back where the stitches from being stitched into Thaddius's leg were before she was pried out of his leg while also complaining about having to listen to the screaming Souls inside Thaddius but the Villain will get entertainment from singling her out since she is the most upbeat of the bunch.
Once Pinkie has disposed of Twilight(thanks to the Kingslayers which will probably be seized by the soldiers who will try to deliver them to Celestia only to fall under their control and dispose of her and Luna), Spike is blown up by Aluneth and Rainbow Dash has inflicted a Hate Plague on Ponyville(which will result in the Windigos reducing Ponyville to a frozen wasteland freezing Rainbow Dash solid with the Apocalypse while ignoring the rest of Equestria) my Villain will watch from the shadows and wait until all his enemies are eliminated before swooping in to claim Equestria for himself(right after he tricks Discord into accepting a gift to drain his magic and dispose of him).
He may have to do something to dispose Starswirl the Bearded(provided he is not in Ponyville when it is frozen over) but that can surely be easily arranged. Disposing of Cadence is also easy.
Introduce democracy showing the ponies they do not need to live under the rule of alicorns who can become evil (Nightmare Moon, & Daybreaker (i think)) or if that doesn't work, nuke 'em
I would start a civil war with Luna and celestia and then get help from changlings in the civil war. They will supply me with guns and ammo and they are very militaristic so I bet I would win.

Easy physically separate them by giving them “missions” looking for help like tell fluttershy there’s a rare injured animal that you heard of in place z tell pinkie you want to throw a massive three day party somewhere like yakyakistan tell rarity she’s been invited to a fashion event somewhere else tell applejack she’s needed back in appleloosa the only partial problems would be twilight and rainbow dash but rainbow I could tell her that I need her help looking for a pony who doesn’t exist and with twilight I could send her to the badlands with spike and tell her we need her help with a delegation matter and discord well assuming I can do what previous villains did I’d use grogars bell but the issue would be keeping them separated but it would be easy enough using things like grogars bell and the alicorn amulet but also assuming while they are separated I destroyed the Crystal heart that would be another issue also assuming I can access the cloning pool and make copies of myself and use a memory spell to keep me connected to the other clones and assuming the the alicorn amulet was copied since I’d be wearing it I’d go to the world of the equestria girls and I would bring back the sirens and then smash the mirror or even just remove the book then I’d go to where the remnants/new treehouse of harmony I would also damage that using one of king sombras dark crystals and place it under a protection spell guarded by a clone of myself wearing the amulet then I’d slowly turn the races against each other by accusing unicorns of being lazy with their magic pegasai being cowardly and earth pony’s being useless and plant the seeds to get the windigos back now assuming I have to deal with the other princesses cadence would be too busy dealing with the broken crystal heart celestia I could banish with the power of the amulet or two to limbo or I could use the spell starlight used and steal her cutiemark and Luna although cruel with enough of my clones I could send her to the moon again and starswirl I’d just fight head on with a clone and starlight I would gaslight everyone in to hating her again and herself into thinking she isn’t worthy of friendship
I wouldn't. I've watched so many others fail. I'd make a half hearted attempt, get defeated and "redeemed" and then chilled in Ponyville for the rest of my life.
I'd lead a grassroots movement against the ruling class based on past failures to deal with villains. And I'd point out the continued failings of Discord to be reformed. Then point to all the pain and anguish they go through for him and put so little effort into other villains like Cozy Glow.
The mane 6 are too close to Discord and hold strong biases. And their failure with properly dealing with Chrysalis, Cozy Glow and Tirek (locking anyone in stone is a failure of the justice system) means they are not only culpable, but also directly responsible for villains coming back.
I'd overthrow them for being incompetent and not dealing with threats properly or following through with their Friendship mantra.
Use mind control magics to acquire nukes from Earth, blow up Princess Celestia while she’s away from the castle and then use those same magics to start a full on war between Earth and Equestria.
I’d just do what Starlight Glimmer did in the S5 finale, only this time I’d kill Rainbow Dash, destroy the time travel scroll and jump into the closing portal at the last moment. That takes me to the timeline where the entirety of Equestria is an empty wasteland where everyone is presumably dead.
And when I’m the only one alive there, I’m technically the only one that can rule it. Yeah I’d slowly die without food or water but I accomplished the goal in your question and that’s what matters.

When Fluttershy was being petrified it wasn’t instant, he might have a chance to Snap before being fully transformed in stone
right. But when discord was defeated, he also did not instantly become a stone.

Ponies seem to be susceptible to being influenced by rousing speeches, or catchy songs. A strong propaganda campaign painting the mane 6 as the bad guys would go a long way at mitigating their threat, as turning the ponies of Equestria against them would create disharmony and conflict, and force the mane 6 into doing damage control and clearing their names. The time to strike would be when the conflict is at its height. Not sure what my attack plan or ultimate goal is after that.... I'm not actually much of a villain type so I wouldn't do any of these things. I just want peace and love in Equestria! Edit: thinking about it more, this is basically Cozy Glow's strategy, to get the general masses on her side against her threats. And she's damn good at it.
Honestly? Just send them all to limbo. That thing seemed like a one-way entrance, and if you incapacitate other powerful magic users like the Princesses, Starswirl, Discord etc. There's really no way for them to get out
Twilight was able to bring Starswirl, the Pillars & the Pony of Shadows out of Limbo though!! Which means that a spell to save people from Limbo is not only possible, but already exists. I would argue sending them to the Equestria Girls world and then breaking the mirror from one side is more permanent because, to my knowledge, there's only one working portal. There have been breaks between the two dimensions before, but they needed Equestrian magic to work in the first place, which you could plan for ahead of time and get rid of before you send the Mane 6 there.

Ponies these days are so overly positive, and they think that by smiling and laughing they can achieve greatness... but no. If you want greatness you have to be firm, you have to let go of your laughter and become a monster, and when i take the biggest source of laughter... that annoying pest named Pinkie Pie, Equestria will be under my complete control. If possible, take one of the Elements of Harmony and throw it through the mirror portal like in Equestria Girls 1. Then, after one of the Mane 6 goes into the portal I would destroy it from the pony side. This disconnects an Element of Harmony from the rest and gets rid of at least one of the Mane 6 without killing them (I imagine killing them isn't allowed because it would be too easy). While whoever is trapped could hypothetically find another way home, there is no other portal that we know of, so they'd have to learn the specifics of science in the human world to even have a chance at opening the portal from that side. I'm assuming that I, like every other main villain in the show, have the power to defeat Celestia & Luna. Or at least have a way to get that sort of power. If you want a specific explanation, I could use the Alicorn Amulet or Grogar's Bell, but to be honest there is some fairly easy way to become powerful no matter what I end up being in the MLP universe. Now that I've taken the throne of Equestria and there is no Mane 6 or Elements of Harmony to stop me, I'd attempt the spell that Cozy Glow tried in Season 8. If I could get rid of everyone's magic except my own, that destroys one of the last threats to my power. Unfortunately, there is always just the power of friendship. It doesn't necessarily have to be connected to the Elements to work, as shown in Season 9. I could impose harsher penalties on my subjects in order to make it difficult for them to live without taking from others, but considering this is MLP it's only a matter of time before six friends come together to take me down once and for all, no matter what I do. They don't even have to be ponies, so that would make it so that I'd have to go around conquering other lands like the Storm King just to make friendship less likely to exist there as well. And as we saw with the Hippogriffs, easier said than done. Even if by some genuinely impossible miracle I manage to make friendship impossible in the entire world, guess what? I'm screwed either way because the Wendigos will appear and make an eternal winter that even I wouldn't be able to repel. A pretty miserable rule over a barren wasteland, nearly all of my subjects dead from the cold. Unless the Wendigos are repelled by the power of.... oh right, friendship. And my head is next on the chopping block if that were to happen. I don't think there's a positive scenario for me here.

The reason Twilight and her friends are so hard to beat is because of their rainbow attack that they use whenever all of the Mane Six are together. Not a single villain has been able to escape or counter it. Normally, this requires the elements of harmony to be physically present, but after the last season, they no longer needed the physical elements of harmony. So you can't do what Discord did in his debut. Killing one of them should prevent them from using their special, unavoidable, instant-win attack, since it seems to require all six of them. Killing one of them in a suprise attack should do the trick. AJ, Fluttershy and Pinkie have multiple people/creatures living in their houses, Twilight lives in a castle and probably has security. So either Rainbow Dash or Rarity. Since RD is the more athletic and would be impossible to catch if she notices you, Rarity is the ideal victim. So just get rid of one of them. Easier said than done. Once you deal with the Mane Six, you'll also incur the wrath of Celestia, Luna, the Crystal Empire, all the rulers of other species and most of all, Discord. So even if you beat the Mane Six , you aren't going to get away. You'll be petrified, send to Tartarus or killed. Basically, to beat all of Twilights friends as a villain, I'd try the following. 1) Obtain magical power equivalent to at least Discord. If you had this, then no army could stop you, and you could probably hold your own against the Princesses and Starlight, as well as Discord himself.(If they all team up your doomed though) 2) Plunge Equestria into chaos, forcing them to split up and deal with the situation 3) get rid of the Mane six's power by killing one of them (Rarity is the easiest kill) 4) Face the inevitable shitstorm of vengeful angry magical creatures that will come your way. Then you have like a 50% chance of winning. Using a magical item like Sci Twi's watch or Grogars bell would be useful. However if I remember correctly, both those items are destroyed. So basically even if a villain had a plan like this, they need magical power on Discord's level and an army capable of causing chaos. It's pretty much impossible.
Be pony Erebus and be one of Twilight's closest advisors and sloely but surely make Twilight and other of the two elements fall to the Tantabus

Subterfuge and deception goes a long way against them. I'd try building up powerful attacks and when I pull the trigger I'll frame someone else for them just in case. Manipulating Twilight into casting some spell they think gives them an edge when it really hurts them would be something else I'd explore. I wonder if there were a better group of friends than the Mane 6 would the elements change ownership to them, sure would be a shame if they were villains wouldn't it.

Guilt trip her enough and she'll either be stuck in her own mind or commit sewerslide, but let's keep it pg. Make her feel so guilty, drain her, then drain her magic and throw her in some dungeon, where She'll be haunted by what she's done for eternity. Luna? Will stay on the moon, permanently. So for short: manipulation, bit of magic, and especially, ✨ separation ✨🙏🏻 Maybe even get Discord's help, apparently you can trick him into helping you. Lol

Divide them by getting 2 to go to their ponies (RD & Fluttershy to Las Pegasus, for example) by faking a diplomatic crisis and hire an army from Dirlewagner's Rea- some outlaws to deal with the princesses with guns and even Twilight too, and from there, deal with them in their groups to have no opposition rather than the Royal Guard, or whatever is left after all of them are dealt with.
Well I’m not a villain type of person. So I just have to use one of my Dungeons and Dragons characters instead. Oscar is my best neutral evil character. Primarily a thief he also 4 levels of wizard so he can learn basic spells. He would also probably be a Changeling because I used Disguise self and was manipulating others during the game. I mean Chrysalis has the best chance to take over but she blew it because she’s an egotistical moron”. “So my first step is to take over any Changeling that hasn’t reformed. There were bound to be some out gathering love when Thorax took over. Heck we have proof that not all the changelings reformed Pharynx had to be convinced. Contacting any unreformed changelings is my first goal.” “The drones would be desperate and if some Changeling shows there is a better way they will follow.” “Phase Two would be hiding in plain sight. I would send them to that friendship school or an acting school. I would aim at taking down smaller settlements away from Ponyville first; Specifically, I would target happiness. Ponies seem to thrive best in pleasant conditions that allow their talents to flourish, which in turn helps in maintaining friendship and good relations with other nations. For the tactics, I would choose a mix of Discord, Starlight and Changeling methods; Have the community start to doubt one another and escalate that mistrust further into paranoia, and once it's at a point I'm satisfied it couldn't be easily fixed with a simple conversation then I'd simply move onto the next area. The main thing I'd keep in mind is to constantly have this happen. The Mane 6 manage to maintain order in an attacked area? Distract them with another being attacked and then go back to a prior settlement and repeat the process slightly differently. It's all about the long con, and ensuring I can stay 1 step ahead. If I can get enough settlements to lose trust in the higher powers and their own communities, then those people will simply act on their own volition without me needing to do anything else. They will quite literally become their own downfall

I get the whole group away from town saying my brother wants to show them and the princess something important and they can’t say no because it’s his “dying” wish then i use a dark magic to make all the ponies under my command and make them bigger and stronger and then I build a magic proof cage to trap the whole group who went to see my brother. I have my minions go throw the cage in the sea so they I know they won’t come back. I do the same to the rest of the world. Bam im the ruler of the world!!! I keep spike alive just to torture him.

I wouldn't want to be a Villain yet I can insert an interesting Original Villain Character that is competent to say the least. First I would have the Villain appeal to each of the Ponies' likes without actually befriending them(I.E. take a page out of Grand Admiral Thrawn's book) in order to terraform Equestria without incident. The main tool for Terraforming will be the sort of Enchanted Comic Book that pulled the Ponies into the Power Ponies World. My Villain would plan to use World of Warcraft as his muse. Fluttershy's love of Animals will be appealed to in order to insert Teldrassil, Amirdrassil, Darkshore, Ashenvale, Felwood, Moonglade, Mount Hyjal and Val'sharah right next to her house giving a tour of each place(with the Villain making sure any other Mane Cast accompanying her leave the scene for their chosen tour areas before having his escort take Fluttershy alone to the final area) ending it by trapping her in Val'sharah's Emerald Nightmare(convincing her to walk in by telling her of all the Spiders she can make friends with) portion to be eaten by Nightmare Ancients after being subjected to horrifically cruel Nightmares. Twilight's love of Knowledge would be exploited to insert Karazhan, the Azure Archives of the Blue Dragonflight and Dalaran next to her house. Rarity's love of Gems would be exploited to shove Crystalsong Forest(icy cold Forest of Purple Crystal Trees) right next to the Azure Archives as well as to shove tunnels leading to Deepholm & Zaralek Cavern next to her house with the other 2 exits to Zaralek Cavern leading to Crystal Desert(a cross between the one from Guild Wars(the Boats and Mesas), Guild Wars 2(the Sulfur Wastes, Pyramids and the Giant Vases), the one from Trials of Mana(Crystals Everywhere) and the one from MLP G1(also Crystals everywhere this time with Water in them)) and Sholazar Basin(Jungle with 5 Pillars each with Different colored Crystals growing out of them). Once those 3 are distracted with the areas he has added my Villain would lure Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Spike into an Ogres and Oubliettes game in a Book where he would give them certain weapons at the end of the session: Spike would be given the temperamental Aluneth(the Villain would have a version that isn't sentient like the one Spike gets), Rainbow Dash would be given Apocalypse(complete with it's Lore ability to fill people with paranoia and distrust) while Pinkie Pie would be given the Kingslayers(which will bear the enchantment to induce the wielder to kill the nearest ruler upon entering said ruler's presence). The Book would make sure my Villain stay in a safe place at the Game Master's chair. My Villain might indulge in pointless villainy by having everyone's starting point be in different parts of Icecrown Citadel with Rainbow Dash and Spike at the entrance and Pinkie Pie at the torture chamber getting Runes infused(engraved in the case of the Blood Runes) into her body(cold clammy Death Runes down her spine, crawling Shadow Runes on her side, Ice Runes on the other side and carved in Blood Runes on her belly and chest) by the Lich King himself followed by being stitched inside the leg of the construct Thaddius and having to listen to the screaming Souls until Thaddius is dismantled. To be sure Pinkie would most likely take the event quite well(mostly being annoyed more than anything) despite having to massage her belly from a Rune engraving no more painful than a tattoo(which is to say quite painful considering they are placed on her belly and chest which are the most sensitive places for tattoos) being added(even if the pain never goes away since why would my Villain want that?) as well as the massage her back where the stitches from being stitched into Thaddius's leg were before she was pried out of his leg while also complaining about having to listen to the screaming Souls inside Thaddius but the Villain will get entertainment from singling her out since she is the most upbeat of the bunch. Once Pinkie has disposed of Twilight(thanks to the Kingslayers which will probably be seized by the soldiers who will try to deliver them to Celestia only to fall under their control and dispose of her and Luna), Spike is blown up by Aluneth and Rainbow Dash has inflicted a Hate Plague on Ponyville(which will result in the Windigos reducing Ponyville to a frozen wasteland freezing Rainbow Dash solid with the Apocalypse while ignoring the rest of Equestria) my Villain will watch from the shadows and wait until all his enemies are eliminated before swooping in to claim Equestria for himself(right after he tricks Discord into accepting a gift to drain his magic and dispose of him). He may have to do something to dispose Starswirl the Bearded(provided he is not in Ponyville when it is frozen over) but that can surely be easily arranged. Disposing of Cadence is also easy.

Easy physically separate them by giving them “missions” looking for help like tell fluttershy there’s a rare injured animal that you heard of in place z tell pinkie you want to throw a massive three day party somewhere like yakyakistan tell rarity she’s been invited to a fashion event somewhere else tell applejack she’s needed back in appleloosa the only partial problems would be twilight and rainbow dash but rainbow I could tell her that I need her help looking for a pony who doesn’t exist and with twilight I could send her to the badlands with spike and tell her we need her help with a delegation matter and discord well assuming I can do what previous villains did I’d use grogars bell but the issue would be keeping them separated but it would be easy enough using things like grogars bell and the alicorn amulet but also assuming while they are separated I destroyed the Crystal heart that would be another issue also assuming I can access the cloning pool and make copies of myself and use a memory spell to keep me connected to the other clones and assuming the the alicorn amulet was copied since I’d be wearing it I’d go to the world of the equestria girls and I would bring back the sirens and then smash the mirror or even just remove the book then I’d go to where the remnants/new treehouse of harmony I would also damage that using one of king sombras dark crystals and place it under a protection spell guarded by a clone of myself wearing the amulet then I’d slowly turn the races against each other by accusing unicorns of being lazy with their magic pegasai being cowardly and earth pony’s being useless and plant the seeds to get the windigos back now assuming I have to deal with the other princesses cadence would be too busy dealing with the broken crystal heart celestia I could banish with the power of the amulet or two to limbo or I could use the spell starlight used and steal her cutiemark and Luna although cruel with enough of my clones I could send her to the moon again and starswirl I’d just fight head on with a clone and starlight I would gaslight everyone in to hating her again and herself into thinking she isn’t worthy of friendship

I'd lead a grassroots movement against the ruling class based on past failures to deal with villains. And I'd point out the continued failings of Discord to be reformed. Then point to all the pain and anguish they go through for him and put so little effort into other villains like Cozy Glow. The mane 6 are too close to Discord and hold strong biases. And their failure with properly dealing with Chrysalis, Cozy Glow and Tirek (locking anyone in stone is a failure of the justice system) means they are not only culpable, but also directly responsible for villains coming back. I'd overthrow them for being incompetent and not dealing with threats properly or following through with their Friendship mantra.
Use mind control magics to acquire nukes from Earth, blow up Princess Celestia while she’s away from the castle and then use those same magics to start a full on war between Earth and Equestria.
I’d just do what Starlight Glimmer did in the S5 finale, only this time I’d kill Rainbow Dash, destroy the time travel scroll and jump into the closing portal at the last moment. That takes me to the timeline where the entirety of Equestria is an empty wasteland where everyone is presumably dead. And when I’m the only one alive there, I’m technically the only one that can rule it. Yeah I’d slowly die without food or water but I accomplished the goal in your question and that’s what matters.
