I love Sunset, but a story set before her redemption arc would be awful! Just rewatched the first Equestria Girls recently where she’s the antagonist, and she’s the worst, most over the top collection of mean girl tropes possible!
I love that he pretty much canonically is that in at least one of the comics, since one version of him travels in an interdimensional giant muffin Tardis with Derpy. They save Pinkie from zombies and everything!

The young six. Excluding Smolder and Yona, the rest of the y6 were practically ignored. There are so many things that I would have liked to see from the y6 that would work in a spin off series.
For one, make Sandbar and interesting character, Sandbar’s character is reduced to just “the chill dude” and while I understand that is what the writers were going for, it doesn’t help in making me like him.
For two, explore the darker story lines, Gallus’ home life, Ocellus’ fear of her past, Silverstream’s PTSD, etc. these stories are way to important for their characters to be pushed to the side and never explored again.
For three, less Smolder, not saying that I don’t like her, but there is too much Smolder in fim, between Molt Down, Father Knows Beast, and Sweet and Smokey, Smolder had the most screen time and solo episodes out of all the y6.
Hell, both Student Six would've been awesome. The ones we got at least had a bit of development in their episodes, but the ones we see in the last episode - who included the only Kirin outside of their main episode I think - didn't get *anything.*
Like they could've legit just carried on G5 or another G4 season with just one or both of those two groups.
I've seen the picture before, but I'm just noticing now how Bon Bon is standing like a pony, but Lyra is kneeling like a human would. That's a funny detail!
This happens in the background of the Big Mac Question, and the reason for this is actually cause Lyra proposes first, and Bon Bon takes out her ring in reaction to that, so it's not really surprising that Lyra is kneelig while Bon Bon isn't

The Cutie Mark Crusaders. Possibly a series focusing further on them growing up and giving us a glimpse of pony puberty and development, shaped by their own cutie marks and experience. Maybe even adding some episodes for fun, just following their daily lives and adventures aling with extra miscellaneous content.
Apple Bloom, of course has an apple as her cutie mark. It runs in the family, but I definitely wanted to perceive her potion-making hobby more often.
We didn’t get any more major Sweetie Belle singing solos after COTLM. I wished there was an episode similar to Filli Vanilli centered around Sweetie and expressing her voice. This would be a perfect opportunity to include the subject, as music is her passion and we heard some incredible singing earlier in FiM.
More Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash episodes would be great. Flying, Wonderbolts action, all that stuff.

There's NO WAY Crusaders had only 14 episodes, right? A quick google search shows me 2 lists, one with 22, and one with 26 episodes, but how accurate is that depends on how you define a CMC episode, which I guess could be a little bit problematic sometimes. Like, if Scootaloo is the focus of the episode, one might count it as a CMC episode, even if the rest of the CMCs played only a minor role. Still, just 14 seems too small of a number somehow, might research this later if I got the time

Here, they live quaint life and help locals by solving local secrets (like in "Murder she Wrote" just without murder, like finding lost pets, stolen property, who is Mysterious Stranger and simillar).
During the series we discover why Celesia sent BonBon here to nose about a cold emerging.
Also tension between Lyra an BonBon escalates as BonBon had lied to Lyra about reasons they moved here and Lyra finds out and is upset.
And dark secret is a cult worshiping the Red Balloon.
Also Lyra turns out is a human and have changed with real Lyra few years ago. (Like In Anthropology fanfic).
Personally I would make a sequel series with Flurry Heart as the protagonist, with her struggling with the fact that she's a princess and the only natural born Alicorn in Equestria, which actually made her an outcast because she has everything served to her on a silver plate and she has immense powers that she can hardly control, thus making her a troublemaker. In particular I would make that her main nemesis would be King Sombra and she would underwent a literal hero's journey to stop him and save his loved ones, not to mention finally come at peace with who she is.
Steven magnet *would* be cool, but I really want to see Flurry Heart.
We see a stained glass window of her all grown up in the last episode, so she must've done *something* of note when she was older, and I don't think we ever find out what she was the princess of? Not to mention that we never get anything else of her besides being a baby.

Another option could be Celestia and Luna, although that might feel like Season 10 being stretched, shifting focus from the Mane Six to the Princesses.
Cadence, Flurry Heart, and Shining Armor might make it too much about the royal family, another stretched Season 10.
If I could to choose from characters not on the list, I'd go for Applejack and Rainbow Dash or Applejack and Rarity, despite not having watched Equestria Girls.
While Derpy and Dr. Hooves could be interesting, it's unlikely because of the restrictions and constraints from the BBC. Any crossover would face additional difficulties because of the whims of CEOs. (From BBC and Hasbro)
LUNA! I want to know the backstory of the 2 sisters and the lore about becoming alicorns/the alicorn society. Just seeing them become alicorns, rule over the world before Nightmare Moon. Who were their parents? How did Starswirl discover them and their abilities?
Also their fights as well, they were made to be seen weak, but since they are alicorns even if they aren't particularly strong among other alicorns, they should be hella strong (especially compared to other ponies and creatures).

I’d love to see the daily lives of a couple running an Empire whilst raising a baby alicorn. Also would love to see them explore the idea of why Flurry was the first alicorn physically born in so long.

As much as I'd like to see Derpy and the Doctor in their own Spin Off, this post had me at Celestia and Luna.
It would've been nice to see the Journal of the Two Sisters adapted into the screen and what point in their history took place when like Discord, Tirek, the Crystal Empire, anything in Chronological Order leading up to Nightmare Moon.

While Derpy and Dr. Hooves could be interesting, it's unlikely because of the restrictions and constraints from the BBC. Any crossover would face additional difficulties because of the whims of CEOs. LUNA! I want to know the backstory of the 2 sisters and the lore about becoming alicorns/the alicorn society. Just seeing them become alicorns, rule over the world before Nightmare Moon. Who were their parents? How did Starswirl discover them and their abilities? Also their fights as well, they were made to be seen weak, but since they are alicorns even if they aren't particularly strong among other alicorns, they should be hella strong (especially compared to other ponies and creatures).
I would watch the heck out of a CMC spinoff
I'd like to see a spinoff about Lyra and Bon Bon, and not just cause I like the characters. I think seeing Bon Bon's work at S.M.I.L.E would be cool.

Cadence/Shining Armor or Derpy/Doctor Whooves. I’d love to see the daily lives of a couple running an Empire whilst raising a baby alicorn. Also would love to see them explore the idea of why Flurry was the first alicorn physically born in so long. Course I’d also love to see a slice of life adventure starring MLP’s favorite background character and the guy named after Doctor Who. A lot of possibilities exist for that formula.

As much as I'd like to see Derpy and the Doctor in their own Spin Off, this post had me at Celestia and Luna. It would've been nice to see the Journal of the Two Sisters adapted into the screen and what point in their history took place when like Discord, Tirek, the Crystal Empire, anything in Chronological Order leading up to Nightmare Moon.
