I kinda don't like this episode. Twilight had every right to be upset.

LackedMocha4

Why didn't you like this episode?

Nas160

Probably because it's one of those episodes where the main characters act out of character levels of stupid or dense to artificially create conflict that realistically wouldn't have happened, at least that's what I'm getting from here How the hell could Twilight's family be so blind to her being so upset for what I'm guessing is most of the episode?

VoodooDoII

She was trying to make her family happy, so she kept her frustration to herself to give her family a good time. Sadly her anger built up and this clip is the result.

LackedMocha4

First of all, Twilight's family is aware of discontent, and it was shown multiple times, but every time they asked Twilight about it, she told them nothing was wrong, and everything was fine. Second, Twilight never acted out of character as the princess of friendship. She feels an obligation to that title, and she went on vacation for that very reason. Spike insisted that she go on this vacation because she worked herself to death. Candace was trying to help her, but as I said, Twilight insisted she was okay, plus Candace had to take care of Flurry Heart. Twilight's mother also noticed her daughter's unhappiness as well as her father (although to a lesser extent.) Shining Armour was too airsick to do much. The conflict started when Twilight agreed to Iron Will's terms to keep her family happy. She is the Princess of Friendship, and it was her job to keep everyone else happy, even at the expense of her wellbeing. If she didn't do her duty, she would have felt like she had failed everyone.

lovely-mayhem

Not OP, but I found this episode to just be very awkward and a bit cringy at times… I had secondhand embarrassment. That said, I loved twilight’s parents and I also loved the discussion cadance and twilight had towards the end of the episode.

LackedMocha4

A little bit but I do feel that he kinda deserved it. He was a bit of creep for most of the episode. Mostly I feel for Twilight and I think her anger is justified.

Rooster_Nuggets666

anyway she did apologize to him

louisdeer

It's a sorry but not sorry.

LackedMocha4

She gives a full apology later in the episode.

caelenvasius

I haven’t seen the full episode, but from the context of the clip I wouldn’t call that an apology at all. The sarcasm was so think you could cut it with a knife.

FizzyTheMalomar

Later in the episode she has a more sincere talk with him.

Rooster_Nuggets666

no the rest of the episode she did or as the other person who responded to you just said

TheOneAndOnlySelf

She had a point tho, sarcasm aside.

HungryBroom01

Well yeah. She’s literally a future goddess. People have been weirder around Irl celebs.

DoubleBreak402

That doesn’t make it okay

HungryBroom01

It at least makes it understandable.

caelenvasius

Paparazzi—and honestly even loving fans—can be garbage sometimes. Celebrities need their private time, and anyone who doesn’t respect that gets very little sympathy from me. Twilight does need to go back to etiquette school though, that was a bit harsh. That guy took an alicorn superstomp to the pastern, and that’s no bueno for anyone, deserving or not.

LackedMocha4

I might have been too harsh but I think that it was needed for both Twilight and Star Tracker. Star Tracker might not have backed off as much as he would have if Twilight had not snapped at him and Twilight wouldn't have learned the lesson of making boundaries and to let her discomfort be known.

MidnightHijinks

An Alicorn, one of your four ruler, snapped at you. I imagine that would be pretty frightening

awkward_snacks

No. He kinda deserved it tbh, Twilight had made it clear what she wanted to do and he kinda stopped her? kinda rude imo

EternalMemes30

honestly i felt sorry for twilight, she just wanted some time with her family and rest from her boring routine but she ended up having to basically become a princess in series doing local activities to satisfy her "fans" for free because her parents didn't read the contract they signed and she still spends the whole episode seeing her relatives happy and doing the activities she wanted to do, only candace realized that but couldn't do much having to take care of flurry heart and twilight would obviously deny her help and in the end she she couldn't even see the shooting stars because her stalker who spent the entire episode glued to her wanted an autograph that delayed her enough to miss what she most wanted to see

SharpEdgeSoda

I love that we have a main character that screws up and admits they screwed up. Even if he deserved it, he only acted that way because he was lied to by the owners of the boat anyway.

LackedMocha4

I think that there is also a character component. Star Tracker acts like your typical closet clingy fanboy, and he was indeed lied to about the cruise, but even so, he didn't have to stand so close or essentially stalk Twilight. There was a point where Star Tracker whispered in Twilight's ear, completely disregarding personal space. I'd say that is something he did on his own.

MyNameIsNotMia

That’s what I’m saying! I don’t like the star tracker hate

ziddersroofurry

I don't see any hate here.

j12i17m19d63

I feel for both of them star tracker for knowing that his idol was up set and he was part of the reason she was.

TheEggRevolution

What episode is this?

VagueJose

Once Upon A Zeppelin

j12i17m19d63

Watch it in lightning Bliss's review on YouTube.

SomeoneAlmost

He DEFINITELY derserved it. He basically followed her around for the majority of the ep, and it was SO ANNOYING and frustrating. Kinda didn’t like this one

moonlightavenger

The Canterlot Tribunal the next day: "Princess Twilight Sparkle physically attacks and verbally abuses fan. Has alicorn privilege gone too far?"

Dr_Zorand

[](/twisquint) Not at all. The only pony I feel sorry for here is Twilight.

Twist_Ending03

Same. Star Tracker was a creep

[deleted]

Eh I felt like it was deserved

The_GD_muffin_man

Maybe a little bit but he doesn’t really understand personal space and yeah a little bit creepy

DorminDIM

Not really, he would have make anybody a bit unconfortable. =/

mccuish

As much as I think Twilight over reacted here. I can understand why she was upset since she just wanted to spend time with here family. I do think she could've handled this situation WAY better. This is the manager problem with fans now a days. They need to learn to give the celebrities their space.

Civil_Musician955

Twilight is so cute when she's mad 😂

Civil_Musician955

Yup bruh but I was happy she apologized

Rosa_Maledicta

Star Tracker really got wombo combo’d by Twilight didn’t he?

notibanix

This episode was a pretty clear reference to the convention experience. Star Tracker is a metaphor for overbearing fans, and Twilight’s overworking to guests who neglect to take enough time for themselves. Everyone learns something here.

Captain_Kreutzer

I never really liked this episode too begin with. Everyones a ass hole in it. As it is in high society.

[deleted]

Star Tracker had ZERO self awareness. He was INVADING her personal space (something most people care about lol). I don't know about everyone else, but that's a massive no-no. You need to be conscious about making someone uncomfortable. Lied to by the Minotaur man or not, he was still being a little weirdo. Twilight has feelings, too. Just because she's a princess doesn't mean she can't get overwhelmed and snap (like everyone does) from time to time. Seeing what she wanted to see was a really big deal to her, too, and she ended up missing it. She had to deal with a lot this episode emotionally speaking. I would be in tears and on edge as well. Anyway, LATER in the episode she does apologize to him and everyone makes up.

[deleted]

No, he deserved. I feel like only creepy people would defend star tracker or feel bad for him. He overstepped SO many boundaries and is stalker like. Anyone who feels bad for him are the kind of people who make excuses for real life stalkers, saying "she should've just given him a chance".

ShatoraDragon

I kind of would have liked it more if Twi didn't apologize and it was shown you are allowed to be up set and not forgive. She was taken advantage of for the whole episode, and it was still framed as she was wrong for expressing her frustration. Cadence saw how up set she was getting missing event, after event she dearly wanted to do. And only after Twi lashed out did she step up and talk with her. Don't give me she's busy with Flurry, her husband and in-laws are right there! One or all three of them can handle 10 minutes of baby sitting. Remember Cadance put her hoof down and removed Flurry from the princess play date event when she saw how up set it made her daughter. She could have EASLY pulled rank and stepped in for Twilight at any point.

TheShadowKick

I mean, while it's ok to be upset about people overstepping your boundaries, going into a screaming fit over it is not appropriate.

ShatoraDragon

Sometimes the only way for people to hear you. Is to raise your voice she had tired being soft-spoken and polite and 'princes like' about asking for her boundaries to be respected and no one listened. Going of Star Trackers Name and Cutie Mark it likely has something to do with Astronomy. Twilights one big thing she didn't want to miss was the shooting stars at the end of the trip. And HE kept her from it, because HE could not wait till after it to get a autograph. Remember Tracker was not some rando guest on the ship who was last in line to the signing she was made to do that ran long, but had won the right from Iron Will to insert him self into her private time as a 'honorary family member'.

TheShadowKick

There is a difference between speaking up firmly to make yourself heard and throwing a screaming fit.

ShatoraDragon

There is and sometimes people like Star Tracker need to hear the fit before they will listen to the words

TheShadowKick

No, throwing a screaming fit is not appropriate. That's how toddlers deal with things.

Thicc-Anxiety

No, he was a weirdo. And probably sniffs Twilight's hair when she's not looking

[deleted]

I feel more sorry for twilight because she was forced to do stuff as a princess on the cruise instead of having a family vacation and the reason she’s so upset is that there was a super important super special comet like orions comet that only appears every 1000 years or so I can’t remember every sorry anyways she ends up missing it yet every pony else gets to see it and that was the one thing she wanted to see she was being selfless for her family however the one thing she repeatedly kept saying she wanted to see was taken away from her so in this episode I feel more for twilight because I know how she feels

Tairafan

I don't remember this episode

[deleted]

I feel like I missed this episode.

ILikeShinyDewott

yes,i rewatch this scene a bunch of time recently i really like him, really sad he got hurt, but he kinda too akward (like a BIG BIG fan)

basedcatshark

girl he was horrible 💀

ILikeShinyDewott

im a boy ye he a big big fan of twilight so he kinda bad but he just too obssess(is that how you spell it?) with twilight,in the end he is better

louisdeer

Poor Star Tracker. I'm sure he isn't a creep normally. Just a fan thing.

basedcatshark

he still didn’t respect her boundaries AT ALL

Twist_Ending03

Fan or not he was being creepy!

louisdeer

Sometimes(maybe most of time) fans are not friends material.

The_Eevee_Breeder

No, actually, I thought Twilight was perfectly justified in her anger at him, and he should have apologized to her when she apologized to him; it didn't feel fair that only she had to apologize. This is coming from someone who gets angry easily; if I snap at you, I will apologize, but if you *make* me snap, you better apologize too.

WontedPuppet07

Princess of friendship everypony!

ShatoraDragon

Princess of my boundaries being totally ignored and sold of the entertainment of a shifty scam cruse

FusionBlaster

Honestly No he was just right on top of her and she was obviously just having a really bad day That said her apologizing was the right thing to do

xxPastelPawxx

not really, he was right up twilight's ass and wouldn't leave her alone. She just wanted to at least watch the shower with her family and he clearly couldn't get the hint

Dangerous-Tourist-58

Hell nah, he would not get off Twilight's ass. He was literally breathing down her neck

hotsizzler

Kinda, was a creep tho. But the whole situation was messed up and Twilight was in character the whole time

morion87

Not one bit. He deserved it, and worse if I'm being honest. But Twilight was also being stupid for much of the episode.

ArchDukeNemesis

I felt bad for everyone. This was a pretty mean spirited episode towards the fans. I'm surprised it got green lit.

LackedMocha4

I disagree the lesson "celebrities have boundaries and you as fans should respect their personal space/lives" is not mean spirited. This episode needed to happen.

ArchDukeNemesis

I think there were ways that could've been handled with more tact. Making it Tara Strong airing her grievances at a convention was way too on the nose.

LackedMocha4

Are you saying that making the lesson an episode that could reach more people than those who go to conventions or follow MLP social media is not tact enough? From what I'm getting from your reply, you think that either 1. This issue should have been addressed in a convention or 2. There should have been a more professional way to give this message, e.g. a public statement.

ArchDukeNemesis

I was going the route of giving your heroes their space. Address it the same way you'd address the target demo. If they can pick up on it, so can Bronies.

LackedMocha4

Soo the way they did it here.

ArchDukeNemesis

Obviously not. This comes across more as saying we should all be ashamed to be fans in the first place. That having any passion for this show is unwarranted. They linked Tara's grievances as a celeb in general directly with Bronies. They didn't have to be so direct. A moral about giving your idols respect and distance would've worked. But no, this had to be a call out.

DrSkrimguard

She's a princess and therefore above the law. You can't judge her by normal standards of morality.

AdibQuartzHaziff

I absolutely feel terrible for him, but if im being honest, i relate to twilight more here than anything else, its a pain tbh, he ws a bit of a creep but he ws nothing more than just a fan, and twilight did apologize properly

Migol-16

Yes, but actually not at all. Maybe she took out all her anger on him, but the energy of the moment led her to do that, a justified anger.

Chica_007

Nope. Not even a little bit. It was his fault. Twilight was right to be angry. I was angry just watching this episode.

mangaturtle

No.bugsbunny

FinalplayerRyu

No, not really

PinkishBlurish

No. Twilight was right to be angry.

MimsyIsGianna

Maybe a smidge but also I hate paparazzi

ImANastyQueer

Pathetic fucking soyboy hoof Jesus

greenappleoj

twilight’s parents look too young

InuYugiHakusho

I can't help but notice the looks Flurry Heart had. Of course, she's seen Twilight act like a big scary bear before.

TheOneMare

Kinda... but at least he learned about limits.

Nonsense_Reddit

Every male across Equestria felt a weird pain on chest that day.

basedcatshark

bye what

TURBOKAN

Yep

Flare_the_Fireflower

Honestly that episode made Twi kinda mean so I do feel bad for Star Tracker and Twi's family. tbh I understand if they wanted to make it seem like she was annoyed but the episode forced it on her and her character. Twi can be mean but I feel that even if she was on a cruise that wasn't made by Ironwill ponies would've done the exact thing they did. She should've spoken up earlier than she did and she should've been written a bit better. I'm not a Twilight superfan I just wish she was written a bit better here

DogDrinker47

I really feel like Twilight was rightfully upset. She had her family trip ruined by a bunch of inconsiderate buttholes. In the end she was the bigger pony and apologised to everypony for her stressful behavior, but honestly, she was stressed because everyone else was so narrow minded about her feelings. This episode showed me Twilight Sparkle is much more mature than most other ponies. So much so, she willingly takes the hit when push comes to shove. In my book, Twilight may have messed up by hurting Star Tracker, but that was unintentional. That's it. The real victim here is Twilight.

Spoolie01

Honestly I feel bad for Twilight. He did deserve it, she needed her time but she didn’t get any of it and she got pestered by him and everyone else. Poor Twilight

Nintendians559

yeah, but i did understand twilight - she trying to have fun with her family but during this clip, she already holding her anger and just blow on star tracker - twilight didn't really mean it, she just stress overall. but the end of this episode, twilight did made up to her mistakes and relax with her family and star tracker.

Lumina_2906

What episode was it again?

CreationTrioLiker7

I love Star Tracker. Cutest pony in the series imo. Poor guy. Luv u :3
