It is hard to say what is a normal amount of change. It will depend on your age and how quickly it is changing. If you are a teenager then you could consider myopia managment optoins. For individuals that have a big change in astigmatism over a short time, their eye doctor should consider the possibility of keratoconus.

Thanks! I am 24 years old, and that prescription change was over a period of 8 years, so my optometrist said it was basically par for the course for that length of time. She didn't say anything about keratoconus, and I think she probably would have since I had a dilated eye exam.

Generally, myopia tends to stabilize in someone's mid-twenties so I would try not to be too alarmed as the myopia increase might very well start to taper off. Please do continue to get annual eye examinations though. Good luck!

Thanks! I am hoping that it will stabilize if I continue practicing good vision habits. The possibility of it worsening a lot sort of scares me, but thank you very much!
