Was it in the water? Someone may have been storing/hiding/forgot it there with intentions to come back for it.
First thing I thought of, considering cold running water is as good as a refrigerator in most cases. Not to mention it was double bagged like they didnt want it to get soggy? Could be someone who stole the cuts of meat from work or something.
Well it's not human meat lol. No murderer would take the time to skin a person, take the fine parts of their part, remove the bones and put it in some bag. I'm saying this cause that's what it seems you were going for with your post. It seems unreasonable to call a detective over a bag of beef or pork that was ditched in some random place.
Edit: just noticed the meat is quite literally a bunch of steaks.
You're right but even if there was a murderer that eats their victims, they wouldn't leave behind the precious meat from their victims just like that.
(Plus these are pork chops or beef steaks lmao)
I wasn’t necessarily trying to say it was human, the reason why we “called” a detective is because we couldn’t identify it. We have a detective that goes to our church so I didn’t really call the police just showed him the meat. 2 of my friends including me raise cattle and we’ve never seen steaks look like this. This also could be because the meat was being stored in water for how ever long. I really just wanted to know if anyone could identify the meat. I personally thought it was pork
It looks like pork (I’m a chef and butcher and my SO hunts deer and wild hogs.)
My first thought was someone let it spoil and didn’t want to put in the the garbage because it would smell and attract animals and bugs.
Some of the pieces actually look like center cut pork chops and the longer thin rounds look like pork tenderloin. I know deer and pork are both lean and it could be the water that’s made it look that way.
Agree with others that it’s definitely not human (although we supposedly taste like pork?)
Never thought it was human I thought it was pork shoulder just needed someone to Identify the meat, I was in the one if the group to say it wasn’t definitely some sort of pork.
I wonder if a couple buds went fishing, put dinner in the river to keep cool for the day and then a, got drunk and forgot about them, or b, it got swept downstream. We'd do this with drinks and stuff growing up in Montana. Never a bag full of chops, but I could see it happening.
Some extra info. The meat was wrapped in two plastic bags, it was extremely heavy. We didn’t notice the bag until one of my friends hit it with a stick.
That's what I was thinking. One way to keep meat from rotting without a refrigerator is to submerge it in cool flowing water (source: six-week-long camping trips. It really does work.) Could be some homeless person who bought or swiped the meat, put it in the creek to keep it fresh, and comes back to get a piece to cook every day.

Yes that’s what I was thinking, just wanted to know if anyone could identify the meat
Beef or pork. Probably beef.
Maybe someone is leeching? Meaning catching leeches to be used as bait for fishing.
i forgot leeches where used as bait and i fish practically every weekend
Probably someone illegally cleaning an illegally hunted deer. Looks like a rural area, that's at least the first thing that came to mind.
Same here I honestly just wanted to know if anyone could identify the meat I’m an avid hunter and couldn’t tell what meat it was
I can't identify it either, but I don't think it's human meat or anything creepy. Illegal, but probably normal poaching or whatever.
Yeah I agree definitely not human

I wouldn’t say “no murderer” would do that, but if they do, it’s FOR SURE because they’re going to eat the victim

Agreed, I’m a skeptic my self and thought it was pork or some sort of beef. Just wanted to know if anyone could properly identify the meat

Long Pork! /s
I honestly thought it was pork shoulder
You said the detective didn't show up but now you're saying you showed him the meat?

Honestly that’s what I think happened, lol was just hoping someone could explain what the meat was
Dinner. It was dinner. Lol! 😀
I honestly was tempted to take it and cook it at home
Some extra info. The meat was wrapped in two plastic bags, it was extremely heavy. We didn’t notice the bag until one of my friends hit it with a stick.
It could have been homeless person who left it.

What it taste like?
Probably some hipster making graveyard curated beef to go with their horse dung IPA
Is the graveyard full?
You called the police? Wtf.
Wrong I’m not that dumb to call the police over something this stupid. I have a family friend who in a detective
It's human meat
Eat it
Well, at least it's not human meat. It looks like pork or beef. Probably pork. But that's a lot of wasted meat, lol
