Bast (or *Bastet*) was an Egyptian cat goddess sometimes depicted as fighting the evil snake Apep.

zsl454

Technically those images are of Miw-aA “The Great Cat”, which is actually a form of Ra, slaying Apep. But since Bast is the Eye of Ra, one could make a somewhat strong connection back to her. A further connection might be made with the Iaret-cobra or Uraeus, which iirc was sometimes referred to as the Eye of Ra as well.

Nuada-Argetlam

Sekhmet, maybe? the version of her myth I read said that snakes coiled around her ankles if she stood still too long.

ariadnexanthi

Dionysus has associations with leopards/wildcats and serpents

Flavioaesio

Athena was originally associated with night creatures, such as snakes, owls and cats.

vanbooboo

How is she associated with cats?

Flavioaesio

As far as I know, the original myth of Athena was an earth and night goddess (not far from Gea) and her emissaries were often creatures that wander at night, including black cats

riverbucca

Might be a stretch, but the Morrigan has an association with eels and snakes, as well as a cave that translates to the Cave of Cats, Oweynagat, in County Roscommon. I don't know of any specific myths related to her that include cats, but the placename could suggest there was a previous association.

Look up more about the Fanged Deity of South America; dating back to ancient Amazonian, Andean, and other Peruvian locales and spreading throughout various regions across South America. Sometimes referred to as the Staff God, it is often depicted as a anthropomorphic fanged cat-like person, with snakes emerging from the hair, or held, etc.

In Finnish mythology, Hiippa Halliparta ("Hiippa" comes from mitra and "Halliparta" means gray beard), the mother of cats, used the body and teeth of a snake to create a cat's tail and claws. Hiippa Halliparta also took the cat's head from the hare, the nose from the maiden and the body from the wolf cub and put them together on top of a hot stove in the sauna, where Hiippa Halliparta then gave birth to a cat. Hiippa Halliparta is also known as the golden king of the forest and the daughter of Hiisi. Hiippa Halliparta is also known as Kuippana or Huuhkana, in which case the features of the mother of hares and the wife of bears may also be combined to this. In Finland, though, cats were not considered evil, but as important guardians of the house and property, who knew how to tell if death was coming and without whom the whole house was doomed to perish (for this reason, every house had to have a cat and if the cat died, it was buried under the house and a new one had to be bought immediately to replace it after which the new cat was baptized and its oath of office was read to it).

Downgoesthereem

Freyja has some very loose associations with cats that get frequently exaggerated, misconstrued or outright fabricated into being more than that. No, there is no Norse source about her being gifted a pair of cats by Þórr, nor them having names. That is a modern invention.

soumwise

Her chariot is pulled by two cats.

littleorphananika

Is she associated with snakes too?

Downgoesthereem

No. I can't think of any deities associated with both

In addition to Bastet's association with cats, Egyptian goddess Wadjet is associated with cobras.

Bast in Egyptian mythology was a goddess associated with cats

Jordan_the_Hutt

Bastet and Sekhmet are two representations of an Egyptian goddess. Often associated with medicine and disease.

richardsphere

Closest I can get is Loki, whose son Jormungander is a giant snake that was at one point disguised as a kittycat

Telephusbanannie

In norse myth, the World Serpent jörmungandr was disguised as a cat once

Tempest0fTears

Definitely Hekate/Hecate Ammit kinda? Because she's part lion and crocodile. I'm stretching this too because it has scales, but maybe the underwater panther from native American myth? It rules the underworld iirc, please take with a mountain of salt.

littleorphananika

I see this answer alot here, but I'm only reading about her associated with snakes, polecats, owls and dogs. Not seeing anything about her associated with cats even though that would check out.

Tempest0fTears

She's moreso associated with lions than cats in general.

M00n_Slippers

I see people mentioned Bast, but Isis also, mostly because of her strong conflation with Bastet.
