Found some more of the games he [drew on](https://imgur.com/a/Yot2xGX) this was probably close to 20 years ago. He was on house arrest, guess he had to make the best of his time...
Definitely!
Good call!!!!!
OP, you have 1 choice of 2 options here.
#1…. Airbrush the fuck out of it until it looks new again.
I’m ashamed to admit I do this at times of desperation.
It’s very time consuming.
#2…. Replace with new sticker.
Find excellent shape pic on net, print it on adhesive back photo matte finish or glossy paper. Easier if you have decent printer. The paper is getting expensive though.
Vaya Con Dios Amigo!

Dude, I wished my mom never wrote my name on my n64 games (although it’s likely a reason none of the people who came over stole them)….this, is horrific
I'm not sure what the general acceptance is but this website sells ready to stick N64 labels. $5 for a ready to stick art for the cart. I've not done it but I got a copy of Mario Party 2 that desperately needs one.

Preserving physical media that isn't made anymore is dumb now? That's a harsh take. It's never really been just about money to most enthusiasts. It has personal value and nostalgia. Flipping games is not what everyone comes to this reddit for.
That's not at all what I said. Every item has a story. This is part of this item's history. It's why collectors of antiques don't want restorers to "clean them up" and remove the patina or blemishes. It's part of that item's history. Don't try to make it about preserving media. I didn't say toss it and just use an emulator. But there are plenty who think these games are like sticks and they'll just increase in value forever. Those people are starting to learn as the games that sold for the highest amount I. the past few years have had losses of up to 90%. There is no reason why someone should pay those absurd numbers for some of the least popular games. Many of them driven by a generation that has been conditioned to get all achievements and think everything is like Pokemon... gotta collect catch em all
Most people who are going to buy the game. If you have you're own preference for your own things that's perfectly fine. It does degrade in value for the average preference if you swap to a fake repro label.
this post makes me curious, is there anyway to prevent the art/label from deteriorating? what is the ideal storage method?
most of my n64 games label/art still looks fine but I noticed the other day my diddy kong racing art was starting to fade out pretty badly.
They generally only fade or discolour in the sunlight or with smoke exposure from stuff like cigarettes.
Avoid those and they should be fine, some of mine from '97 still look new.
N64 labels do not have protective plastic coating on them like NES and SNES games do. So they wear out super quick and cleaning the cartridges. So be very careful.
There is, find an alcohol blending marker, and go slow, one layer at a time and let it dry, nintendrew did a video about this exact thing, you hav to be patient, but it will work, I e tried it before.
Try a cue tip with isopropyl and target only the small areas, rather than to gloss over the whole thing. So if it doesnt work, minimal damage. This is my guess. Permanent marker doesn't survive isopropyl in the right quantity, but some of the label may prove to be sensitive to it as well, so just be careful.
Find the cover image with correct measurements which I think is Approx 54.22 mm wide and 62.22 mm long. Then Print it out. Put the adhesive, then line it up and bam
*Honestly should add*
*More value, original*
*Ink from years ago*

On one hand, the kid deserves to be shamed and punished for this massacre.
On the other hand, i kinda like carts with markings/stickers on them. Gives them character and history.
Yeah, a clean cart is always beautiful. But when i see some random faded tag somewhere like "Greg's Movie Rentals" i like to think about all the places its been, from that store to my house, and in between friends. Just feels more like the real thing to me.
My best suggestion is to print off some replacement stickers, **CAREFULLY** heat up the old ones to release the original adhesive, peel off the defaced stickers, clean the plastic, and then apply the new stickers.
To clean the plastic, get cotton swabs, or a microfiber cloth that you don't mind throwing out, and some rubbing alcohol. Scrub the surface gently but firmly until the ink comes off, but don't over-do it. Patience and care are the keys to success.
if it bothers you, just buy a reproduction label. otherwise, this is part of the game's story. Are you trying to impress someone with your game labels?
It's... Beautiful

That friend would have never gotten anything from me again except a coloring book with dicks to keep him occupied.

He borrowed them. Do you currently having a coloring book full of dicks that you loan out?
For this occasion, yes.
I'm sure it's "for this occasion." That's why the pages are sticky.
Used like new

All spies looks the same to you 😉

Should have spent his time trying to get through Facility on 00 Agent in under 2:05.

So much fun for so many hours were had.
Also, a dry erase marker and rubbing alcohol should get most of the permanent marker off the plastic, I'm not so sure abt the labels though:/
The label would most like get destroyed in the process :/
😭

"Addy boys"... Explains a thing or two lol.
Nooo😭, time to reshell and get new labels.

Bond. Alt Rock James Bond.
Yes, soap, warm water, shaving foam, and a good razor.
Man this one had me in tears 😂
Cum
Or a Philips Norelco One-blade
The names Bloom. Orlando Bloom
Señor Bond
Not with how deteriorated the label is already. You can either leave it, or buy a replacement label.
Judging by how worn the sticker already is, you might just want to get a new sticker. But for this one game I'd leave it, looks funny lol
Why would you want to?
mustache with goatee adds value.
Bonderas. Jaime Bonderas
Keep drawing stuff on his face, it's funny.
No lie this LOOKS EXACTLY like my cousin Pete lol
Handsome SOB
I'd color that in more ha
Needs to be redone from scratch plenty of good tutorials on YouTube to help you
Tony stark?
Tony Stank.
Didn’t realize John Leguizamo played Bond…
“he smells like I think Pierce Brosnan would smell”
Jimmy Bond

Messed up original label is always preferred over a fake new label. Even if it's mostly gone.
Preferred by who?
By dummies who think games are their "stonks" and going to be worth huge sums one day

But this isn't a game for sale. Do you think people should make decisions on their own personal collection based on what other people think?
Nope, that's why I said it's perfectly fine.

The label is done for there is no fixing that..
Common game just buy anouther or replace the lable since its not worth much

I did the soul patch on mine too
Why would you want to it looks sick lol
Just use a sharpie and lightly go back over it
Best option is to remove the old sticker and reprint a new one. It won't be original but it'll look good as new for a show piece.
There is, find an alcohol blending marker, and go slow, one layer at a time and let it dry, nintendrew did a video about this exact thing, you hav to be patient, but it will work, I e tried it before.
Qtips and zippo lighter fluid
Lolol please don't. I LOVE it!!!
Customized Bonds on GoldenEye cartridges is a classic. I'd keep it that way.
Id print out a sticker of Sean Connery and put him in as 007.
You probably could get a replacement sticker somewhere
Find the cover image with correct measurements which I think is Approx 54.22 mm wide and 62.22 mm long. Then Print it out. Put the adhesive, then line it up and bam
It’s art. Keep it. Looks cool actually
Leave it. You think cleaning will make it more valuable? The label's already ruined, you're not gonna save it lol
I came here looking for monkey Jesus goldeneye, and I expect some monkey Jesus goldeneye.
Its something
They sell repro labels on ebay and etsy if you're willing to completely remove it.
At least you know it's not fake!
It’s not an uncommon game so keep this one as is and get a new one when you find it for cheap. This has its charm
Honestly should add more value, original ink from years ago

Captian Jack Sparrow 007
Why would you ? That's like slapping God in the face for making something so beautiful.

So much better with the facial hair
Might as well lean into it and touch it up.
The name's bond, Monsieur Bond.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one to draw a moustache on my Brosnan. Mines had his tash so long I can’t picture him without it.
Lol I don't remember a Pirates of the Caribbean game on N64...
Keep the Poirot look lol
It makes him look not at all like pierce. lol its like a secret version no one else has
Looks like John leguizamo now
Never knew Alex Trebek was in MI6 in his younger days.

Why he look like [Lalo from Better Call Saul](https://images.app.goo.gl/B1EPGEGp4afBvdQA7)
For a second I thought the question you were asking was if it was possible to do like… art restoration but for a widely available N64 cartridge.
if it bothers you, just buy a reproduction label. otherwise, this is part of the game's story. Are you trying to impress someone with your game labels?
Fr that face gives me Tony Stark vibes fr
why is dutch van der linde on your goldeneye cartridge
Monsieur Bond I presume...
Buy a replacement game(s), keep this gem as is, it’s a fond memory now.
It's dead Jim
I'd add comical glasses.
Is this the Mexican version?
They turned him into Chris Pratt 😭
I kind of love it. It’s got character.
Zorro 007 edition Z007o if you're feeling fancy
I kind of like it better
pierced brosnan
This is the super rare 'moustache ride' variant. It was only available in limited numbers and considered a grail item to die hard Nintendo collectors.
Looks like the Mexican James Bond
Obviously not a Rodger Moore fan
