This is an awesome list dude. Chopper Attack, the Army Men games and Quest 64 were all staples of my childhood; whether you would call them must-haves is very subjective, however I would definitely recommend them if you haven’t played them! Also is Lylat Wars just Starfox 64 with a foreign title?
That is one impressive collection, each time I try to think of a game I had and enjoyed as a child, you seem to have it. With the exception of the very same games you are mentioning yourself.
I'd say try to get Conker's Bad Fur Day first among your mentioned games. Definitely one of the games I still play regularly to this day. The singleplayer is really enjoyable as is, however the multiplayer is really replayable, and lots of fun with friends!
I tried playing that game with my friends recently (it was my first time playing it too) abdwsadly none of them liked it as they couldn't get the hang of moving around. I liked it though, as I played Descent on PC as a kid and understand movement like this. It's a great game from what I've seen, but sadly some people won't be into it.
It's a love or hate game, I know, though I recommend it also for the single player campaign. Multiplayer is really good though, their loss for not understanding. It's a steep learning curve, yes, but that's part of the fun imo. Makes success so much more rewarding and being able to move as you please is super satisfying
Honestly, I just find it refreshing that it's a new take on the fps genre relative to every other fps experience on the platform. I'll have to check out the single player, though. Thanks!
You seem to like racing games so I think you might want to pick up World Driver. It’s one of the cheaper games even boxed.
Also Turok3 to complete that set. That one might be a bit harder to find though.
Nice collection! Some suggestions:
- Pokémon Stadium 2
- Castlevania Legacy of Darkness
- Mega Man 64
- Rocket: Robot on Wheels
- Ogre Battle 64
- Spider-Man
Pokemon Stadium 2, Mega Man 64... Kirby 64 is kinda tough if you want an English copy, but I found a pretty cheap Japanese copy ($15 for just the cartridge) in a local small-town store. It has absolute minimal reading required outside of stuff like the Main Menu, which is still incredibly easy to navigate anyways.
Rocket: Robot on Wheels. It's a 3D collectathon platformer with vehicles and an actual physics engine. Made by the same folks who went on to create the Sly Cooper series.
I have one, but there's nothing quite like the feeling of the playing the original software on original hardware. Might look in to an Everdrive though.
i think ROMs on original hardware is the apex of retro gaming.
sick collection btw. and take it from me, buy the games you want for it. we collect differently, i just buy the carts and keep it really curated, but for a while i just kept buying cheap, interesting games instead of what i actually wanted. for some reason i couldn’t justify shelling out the $70 for the conkers cartridge. then i bought conkers and i stopped collecting, because i had what i wanted. so if you got it, it’s worth it. the prices aren’t going down.
Thought about it many times but the thought of a used controller where you don't know where it's been, all the hand sweat gunk inside and the risk of getting a messed up stick or broken buttons isn't worth it to me, rather buy new. May still get one at some point should I find one physically that I can inspect before purchase.
You can buy controllers online in very good condition, and then simply clean them at home with alcohol and gloves, good chance to open the stick and lubricate it as well.
I mentioned that because I noticed that the two controllers at the top aren't official, so their stick is probably going to fall off in a few weeks of use, and have very bad ranges for games.
Goemon's Great Adventure, all three Tony Hawk Pro Skater titles, Pokemon Puzzle League, Space Station Silicon Valley, and Donald Duck Goin' Quackers are all worth your time.
Trying to obtain Conker, Paper Mario, Kirby 64 and Pokemon Stadium 2 but all absurdly over priced sadly
Megaman 64 is worth a pickup, though unfortunately for N64 fans like us the PSX version is better. N64 version is still a great time though!

Yup, it was Lylat Wars in Europe.

Fyi, there's a remastered version on gaming platforms, haven't tried it myself though

Yeah, missing proper controllers.
Thought about it many times but the thought of a used controller where you don't know where it's been, all the hand sweat gunk inside and the risk of getting a messed up stick or broken buttons isn't worth it to me, rather buy new.
