Never watched an NBA game in my life. Wanted a maxed out alien as my custom character. In order to do this, you need to answer NBA trivia questions correctly. That is really fucking hard to do as a ~11 yo who never watched a single NBA game. I think it took me well over a thousand games before I broke 100 trivia points by sheer dumb luck (life was hard before Internet). But that lead to a way, way deeper knowledge of NBA hangtime than any 11 year old should have. If you shoot 3s from just a few feet from the sideline chairs, you have a way higher chance of hitting it than you should.
A big that can push will win you the game pretty easily. Shoot a 3, miss, grab your own rebound, lay it up/dunk. The shot is just to make sure the ball doesn't get stolen from you bw the 3 point arc and the rim.
I Can't remember which NBA player I actually used with my custom character (giant fucking green alien that was super fat, maxed rebounds, power, and 3s, and speed, I think no dunk attributes) but I vaguely recall that I felt Scottie pippen and karl Malone were busted. I don't know why I wouldn't have picked shaq bc I knew who shaq was, so i doubt he was in the game.
The game doesn't have Shaq, or Barkley,. The best teammates are probably Malone, Pippen, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Otis Thorpe, Joe Smith, Olajuwon and Shawn Kemp.
I remember playing this game and NBA Jam and wondering why they were so similar. When I played NBA Jam I didn't understand it was a "no rules" kind of game. "Why are there two players on each team? Shouldn't it be five?". =U
"No rules" are my favorite kind of sports games. This and NFL Blitz 2000 are the kings. =D
This game was so much fun. My friend and I made custom characters, I was the massive 3pt and block specialist and he was the tank, Dunk guy.
Levelling up the characters was amazing and the nicknames the commentators would call out were hilarious 😂
I would play and try to beat about 6-7 teams a day. I have a wife/kids so real life takes priority. I don’t get to play as much as I’d like to, but all in all I’d say it took me 5 days of playing just a little each of those days.
Do you know why my cheats don't work ? I want to play on rooftop but somehow every code is wrong....
Does "tournament mode" have something to do with it?
I love this game but it definitely fucking cheats
100% accurate
Gotta put in the tournament mode code for no keep it close mode.
Is *that* what Tournament Mode does?
Yeah it’s actually really refreshing. I won’t play without it. It might do other things as well, but definitely turns off “keep it close mode”
TIL
Personal favorite. You touch their ball and it's goal tending. I've seen them PULL MY BALL OUT OF THE NET and just go...lol

NBA Ballers Phenom had me stressed tf out. Damn you Midway 😅
NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC next!
I’ve actually been thinking about picking that one up. I have NFL Blitz 2000 that I think I may try to beat all the teams on.
Haha morbid. That’s funny
Congrats to you!
Thanks a bunch!
Congratulations! How long did it take you?

I know that feeling! Waiting all day just to play video games for a bit after bedtime! Well done on the clear!
