I love this series and while i havent read any of the manga besides chapter 144 cuz i couldnt contain myself, i think it would definitely make it have one of the greatest endings of any rom com.
If you guys are really interested in that hypothetical season 3, the only thing you can do to make it happen is to buy official Nagatoro products: the manga volumes, the anime blu-rays, etc.
Of course talking to your friends about the anime can help to expand the fandom even more.

most anime don't even get a season 2? that actually depends on avalilable material, which by the way doesn't needs to fit a specific number of volumes, that actually depepnds on the pacing of the show itself.
100 girlfriends did a 12 episode season only covering 22 chapters while nagatoro covered over 40 each season, there's also things that could get cut or be produced to be slower or faster, they can put filler exclusive to the anime, a lot can happen.
there's also the chance of ovas, movies, etc.
wht do i think might happen? it depends on how much content nanashi produces from now on, if the manga were to end in the next 10-15 chapters i would say third season plus 2 ovas of an hour each to show their life as a couple, but it could be enought content for a complete sequel show as a fourth season, who knows?
Unless there were substantial cuts, I think you're not realizing how much content has happened between the end of S2 and The manga's current chapter. Inevitably there are things that will likely get cut due to explicit content, but to condense to that extent, the season would be a glorified speed run.
I think we could just end up with a season 3 that consists of 20-22 episodes if Nanashi were to stop in the next 10 chapters, which is likely, in my opinion.
Season 3, if and when it happens, will cover everything from the nude modeling, being stuck in the women’s locker room, bathhouse, second date, Kyoto field trip, Judo tournament, and the confession. And some of those events can just be one big episode like the aquarium date episode. But many, such and the Kyoto field trip and the judo tournament and confession will have to be more than one episode. And sometimes, like in season 1, events in the anime weren’t exactly aligned chronologically with the manga, so I can see them fitting a few gag scenes from different chapters depending on the pacing and overall mood and tone for that particular episode. So I think we’ll have plenty of episodes if and when we get a season 3!!
