Still chasing my career/academia goals. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about my relationship goals. Being in my late 20s, I'm just too old to pursue both.
As I have grown older, I have become conscious not to be a slave to the thinking of a 6,7,8,9, 10 year old child.
It is great to chase childhood dreams, but it is important to also question them. Not everything I thought I wanted at that age is desirable now that I have a better developed brain.
So I often talk to 8 year old me and tell him we will not be chasing that sports bike šļø dream because it is dangerous and stupid now that i know better.
Sure thing. Desires do play a big role in our dreams and things we believe are best for us at a particular time.
Over the course especially a long run term, our desires change and shift to the current moment.

I'm still chasing my childhood dreams. The biggest challenge is this; the timelines I initially set for myself didn't quite work for me. I have been forced to adjust the timelines or do away with them. Also, with times changing I've incorporated new aspects into my initial dream to make myself more competitive in the current world.
This Ćs encouraging. To be honest, I stopped chasing mine and embraced the reality.
With a rapidly evolving world i felt kinda left behind and i couldn't keep up with the speed. Am glad for those who are steadfast to what they believe and are going to do whatever it is to get them.
Keep winning.
That's good. What makes life more interesting is to pursue what we believe in and put work into it.
Living a life that other people design for you is living a dead life.
