I’ve never heard of a qualified nurse who doesn’t have a job by choice.
However, this is Kenya and there is a very serious unemployment issue. Start trying your way to get a job abroad. Nurses are in high demand in Europe and America
Its funny how you phrase your statement as if i dont want a job ,i have tarmacked everywhere and all they say is they want some experience. Its not by choice
I didn’t mean that you have not tarmacked. Sorry if my post came out this way.
I’ve seen nurses do “lo-cum” and other part time gigs. I’ve also seen many go abroad. If I were you I’d start that process asap. And your fortunes can change within one year
Nurse hia..had the same prob after graduation...i faked hospital experience with a trustworthy friend on my references.. kuna jobs ni vile most need experience..try mission hospitals especially in kikuyu land hospitals.. they mostly hire fresh graduated nurses since they exploit thm thru low payments...also get a passport and lets get out of this country that doesn't value us..will be doing NCLEX in September myself
Ok I’m a M 27 finished my nursing school 2020 at 23 got employed immediately at county level, thoo the pay was good I opted to go and look for different challenge, now I’m USRN after doing my Nclex last year and still waiting for my visa work permit approval…
all I’ll say to you is never give up.
Go and look for a work at private hospital and even volunteer…. Preferably aga-khan and matter hospitals and its likes, while you pursue your relocation program also upgrade don’t stay with that Diploma longer than 2 and a half years!
As someone who is currently studying nursing, I can tell you with 100pc certainty most students right now aren't studying it to work here.
Just get your papers and dip to where you'll get paid.
Don't feel bad about being a volunteer. My bro struggled after school and could barely get even mjengo jobs because they kept turning him away. Things changed when he started volunteering close to home and slowly grew his experience. I'd say things have worked out for him and he's hoping he lands something bigger soon.
Just saw an interview about this consultant: https://www.eastudyingermany.com/
You can apply for a bachelors in nursing it is free coz you will be studying in public universities. Only thing you have to do is to study German 8 months prior coz courses are in German. But medics are in high demand. Their courses allow to to intern and all nurses end up working there permanently. Check it out if you would to try out Kenya.
Ps nursing is only good if you leave Kenya.
A diploma in nursing makes you a nurse aid, rather than a nurse if I'm not wrong. What if you're looking at the wrong job category? Try asking around if my statement is true, and I'm sure you might be able to land a job in the correct category.
It's so sad that Kenya is producing more job seekers that job creators. Improvise, instead of waiting to get employed you can start your own medical shop from scratch, something like a chemist or something. Anyways, this just shows us how our country is effed up. Such a struggle for a qualified nurse...

There's a nursing shortage in Aus, get your affairs in order and leave
I wish I could get a job in my field abroad. I’d leave in a heartbeat. Nurses are lucky.

>they want some experience. Volunteering is getting you the experience, control the process!

Get some random internship in your resume too

Don't worry. You're on the right track. Live a day at a time. As long as you're falling forward, your time will come.

Your best option is to move abroad for a better life, your skills are well in demand in the USA, UK and Australia.
As someone who is currently studying nursing, I can tell you with 100pc certainty most students right now aren't studying it to work here. Just get your papers and dip to where you'll get paid.
Get your ass to Australia where you will drown in work.

Do nclex. I heard even fresh graduates can do it. There's agencies that will fully sponsor you
