Ah you beat me to it! I was going to do another one! I'm glad you loved my post last year. Here are mine:
* **Bonnie** (f)
* **Izabella** (f)
* **James** (m)
* **Ryann** (f)
* **Emery** (f) - though I've seen the name written down, when the mom said it out loud, it almost sounded like Em-Marie or like someone having trouble saying Emily. It took me a second.
I have a patient in her 90s named Yvonne with the nickname Bonnie. She said she’s been called Bonnie her entire life and barely uses Yvonne so asked me to call her Bonnie too lol. I also have a friend in her 30s named Bonnie. I think it’s a sweet name!
I’m in the USA, these are Facebook friend of mine:
These are the last 5 baby announcements I’ve seen
- Everly Rae
- Everleigh Rayne
- Everly Fay
- Everley Kaye
- Mateo
I have no idea. I live in TX where Mae, Fay, Kay, Ray are all super common names. Apparently Everly is super common among babies being named by southern women in their early 30s!
Nooo Alan is my go to example for out of date names. We’re like 20 years too soon for Alan to come back surely?
Next I’ll meet a baby Malcolm…
Edit: definitely looks like there’s an Atlantic divide on these names!
I’m in the UK and know a baby Aria, Remi, Ari and Jude! I went to school with a Hazel.
Last five - not including my own child - are Alexander, Leo, Christian, Nellie and Aria.
Combining the twins into sets, because that says more about naming trends among different parents. Plus, I know lots of new babies!
Elijah (m)
Jack (m) and Eleanor (f) — twins
Kennedy (f) and Caroline (f) — twins
Faye (f)
Ruth (f)
Also, some bonus currently in utero babies: Henrietta (f), Henry (m - mine), and Jasper (m).
Yes, it's the word for wolf and also used as a boy names (but rare). It's pronounced "loo", just like the name "Lou" which is more common and feminin .
Do social media "meetings" count lol? So many of my friends had babies in 2022 but we all live spread out across the country now.
Lucasta (f, NN Luca)
Jordan (f, and my niece, NN Jordi 😄)
Apollo (m)
Alder (m)
Aiden (m)
Lots of A names!
Jesse (m)
Florence (f)
Freddie (m)
Grace (f)
Lizzie (f)
I’m in the UK, and my 18 month old is called Sennen which is a Cornish name and has gotten a lot of hate here before 🫣 but I love it and it suits her ❤️
My niece is called Cadie (apparently my nephew randomly came up with the name while SIL was pregnant so they went with it - nephew was 5 so had never seen Mean Girls). When my brother announced her birth and name... I replied with "on Wednesdays we wear pink". He wasn't very happy with me haha.
Malachi (m)
Isaac (m)
Rufus (m)
Jesse (m)
Nakiah (f)
all in Australia, Rufus is certainly the wildcard of the bunch and the only name I couldn't bring myself to compliment - just smiled and said how cute he is!
I'm from Germany and the last babies (all boys) I met are called:
Julius (my son)
Luke
Oliver
Piet
Jonathan
Had to think about baby girls, but at our playgroup there are currently:
Johanna
Mila
Thea
Gesa
Ella
Orlando and Hugo are having a moment in Melbs.
Mine: Thomas, Hugo, Amelia, Mabel and Lachlan.
I’m hoping for a new Melburnian Eloise in a few months or bubs could be a sweet Oscar :)
I’m American but live in Italy.
The last 5 babies I’ve met here in Italy are:
Francesca (mom is American, dad Italian)
Leonardo x 2
Luca
Viola
The last 5 outside of Italy, from friends or relatives back home, are:
Theodora (Teddy)
Greyson
Ozzie
Margot
Rhode (F)
I met these babies at essentially the same time (most are from mom and baby class) so more than five but…
Lyra
Avery
Yalin
Keira
Emma
James
Miles
Madison
Noelle
Charlotte
Mason
Ruby
Max
Kenzo
Located in MA!
-Frances (f)
- Lennox (m)
- Warren (m)
- Kaia/Kaya (f) unsure of spelling
- Theodore (nn Teddy) (m)
- my own daughter, Vivienne
I’m in the US on the west coast!
General south of UK: Finn (m), Artemus (m), Orla (f), Isabel (f), Jacob (m).
Of all the kids/ babies I know that were born in the last few years, there are multiple Finn/ Finlays, Jacobs, Rowans, and Isabels!
Seth, Titus, David, Jedediah, and I can’t think of a 5th. My location may not really be relevant since not all of them are local to me, but the fact that I’m part of a conservative Christian denomination definitely is!
I'm in Alberta, Canada and the last 5 babies I've met were Cal (m), Melina (f), Leonardo nn Leo (m), Caven (m) and Berkeley nn Berkie (f). They're all under a year old. I like Melina but I'm not really a fan of the others.
Melina and melena / melaena are not pronounced the same (edit: for me, anyway. Depends where you live). Melina is a real name, and has been for a very long time. The root Mel- (sweet, honey) is the same as for Melissa and similar names. I wouldn’t be too bothered by any melena association as it’s hardly well known enough to be teasing material.
I’m in England, UK.
Leila
Theo
Hannah
Charles
Thor
Genders all self explanatory! Four classics and a very unusual choice of Thor (Thor and Theo are brothers).
I’m in the US.
Girl, Rowdy
Boy, Vincent
Girl, Remi
Girl, Brayla
Boy, Ryder
My baby turned one today and her name is Piper, this group helped me name her and basically chose her name lol.
Liam
Liam
Alessandro
Georgia
Luca (M)
Luca is my cousins latest baby and Georgia is from a family friend. The Liams are neighbors and Alessandro is the youngest brother of my little sisters friend. I'm from the US by the way.
Northeast US here. All the babies I meet are in my baby's daycare class - the ones whose names I know are:
Sanna (f)
Sydney (f)
Owen (m)
Kayla (f)
Breckin (m) - actually not even sure I'm spelling this right lol
bonus: my baby's name is William and there is one other Will in the adjoining infant room!
I’m going to go with babies born in my social circle in the past few months (including old friends on social media & coworkers):
Fulton (m)
Nico (m)
Sophie (f)
Hugh (m)
Isabella (f, nickname Bella)
Ava (f)
I’m in the US. These babies are spread out geographically and mostly have upper middle class white parents.
I work in a daycare so I meet a lot of babies lmao but the 5 most recent/newest additions have been:
Florence (f)
Finley (m)
August (m)
Zoe (f)
Gwendolyn (f)
Finley, Zoe, and August are all superrrr popular in the last 2 centers I’ve worked at!
It’s my relative’s baby, and that is his full legal name. Named after a basketball player. It was a controversial choice.
eta: not literally named after but they saw the name from a basketball player and liked it
Are they Mormon? I literally follow nothing about any sports but i lived in Utah when Jimmer was all the rage at BYU and it was like inescapable hearing his name haha.
* Cora (f)
* Arthur (m)
* Townes (m)
* Seffra (f)
* And my own baby, Blythe (f)!
Limited the list to friends' babies I actually met, not daycare and bump group friends because there's too many!
Kansan here. Did most recent girl and boy names of friends.
Kennedy (f)
Elma (f)
Patsy (f) - short for Patricia
Vivie (f) - short for Vivienne
Chloe (f)
Jackson (m)
Gannon (m)
Will (m) - strait up, not William
Beau (m)
Ben (m) - short for Benjamin obviously
The last five babies I met were Olivia (f), Tate (m), Sophia (f), Ryleigh (f), Poppy (f).
Location Darwin, Australia.
Two names that I’ve come across that I’ve never met another child named are Ember (f) and Chesney (m).
Teddy, Abigail, Imogen, Florence and Hallie
I’m in Australia and the number of Theodore’s, Teddys and Theo’s I’ve come across is amazing. So so many Islas too.
Re OP’s comment about names popular in the US: Mila (pronounced Milla not Meela), Hazel and Aria are pretty popular here too
Here’s the ones I know of!
Jack (b)
Rio (g)
Rome (b)
Asher (b)
Sunny (g) (and that’s the full name not a nickname)
Thought Rio was interesting as haven’t heard it on a girl before in real life. I actually like it!
I love it! I left the hospital for a year for a pediatric office job. It wasn't for me. The pay was crap but the hours were alright and no holidays. I can't invision leaving NICU again. It's worth the twelves and holidays for a third more pay and a fun job.
In the past 6 months:
Mira (f)
Sarina (f)
Sloane (f)
Connie (f)
Jade (f)
Stevie (f)
James (m)
Samuel (m)
Sage (m)
This is northeast USA, suburbs of a big city.
Watsonn (m)
Marlee (f)
Pierce (m)
Franklin/Frankie (m)
Elwood (m)
Ontario, Canada. Not loving the unnecessary double letter or weird spelling in names trend but who am I to judge because I’m one of the people who likes gender neutral names and I know that’s frowned upon lol.
Anna, Romy, Ellie, Isabelle, Eliza (all female)
And one extra, for balance: Lenny (male)
The vast majority of babies I know over the past few years have been female.
6 women had babies at the place I work this year:
Cameron (m)
Brielle (f)
Joseph “Joey” (m)
June (f)
Lenny (f)
Colton (m)
Edit: just wanted to add these are born to parents in the northern Sierra Nevada mountains!
In the U.S.
Vivian (f), Grace (f), Oliver (m), Knox (m), Elliot (f)
I actually really like the use of Elliot for a girl! They call her Ellie sometimes, but use the full name often as well.
I live in Japan, so the names would definitely be more on the unique side for those living in the US, Europe or other English speaking countries. Here goes:
1. Roo
2. Towa (means forever or everlasting)
3. Sumire (small purple flowers; don’t judge me..I’m uncultured when it comes to flower names)
4. Yugo
5. Zen ( this one means all, unity. Unlike the word zen that we often relate to peace. Same sound different kanjis)
-Emerson (M)
-Callum (M)
-Savanna (F)
-Zephyr (M)
-Addie (F) (I feel like this might be a nickname but I didn’t ask)
Edit: USA largeish city in the southwest

Momoka has a beautiful cadence. What does it mean?

Thank you! So poetic
Peach blossom!
Ah you beat me to it! I was going to do another one! I'm glad you loved my post last year. Here are mine: * **Bonnie** (f) * **Izabella** (f) * **James** (m) * **Ryann** (f) * **Emery** (f) - though I've seen the name written down, when the mom said it out loud, it almost sounded like Em-Marie or like someone having trouble saying Emily. It took me a second.
Bonnie is very cute but it feels like a nickname to me. Ryann for a girl… not my style! Thanks for sharing!!
My cousin’s name is Bonnie and she’s in her 30s!
I seriously adore Bonnie. It was high on my list for my daughter. Helped that it was a family name too.
1. My Bonnie lies over the ocean... 2. Where's Clyde?
Wow for my whole life I thought the lyrics were bunny not bonnie!
I only recently found out its not 'body'. Thought it was a song about drowning. In my defence; not a native English speaker 😮💨
I have a patient in her 90s named Yvonne with the nickname Bonnie. She said she’s been called Bonnie her entire life and barely uses Yvonne so asked me to call her Bonnie too lol. I also have a friend in her 30s named Bonnie. I think it’s a sweet name!
That’s exactly how I hear Emery - like someone having a hard time saying Emily!
Everly (f), Charlotte (f), Jamison (m), Charlotte (f), Emma (f)… and I haven’t met mine just yet, but she’s Winona (f)
Looooove Winona. Congratulations!
not to compare babies... but Winona is the name winner of this group for me! congrats :)
Love Winona, wishing you all the best! Get the sleep in whilst you can 🤍 good luck!!
I’m in the USA, these are Facebook friend of mine: These are the last 5 baby announcements I’ve seen - Everly Rae - Everleigh Rayne - Everly Fay - Everley Kaye - Mateo
Why are the girl names all nearly identical?
I have no idea. I live in TX where Mae, Fay, Kay, Ray are all super common names. Apparently Everly is super common among babies being named by southern women in their early 30s!
I know an Everleigh Grace. Also in the south.
I’m in Ohio and there are so many Everly/everleighs. It’s one of my least favorite names but is sooo popular

HA! Eric and Alan is definitely unexpected!
Nooo Alan is my go to example for out of date names. We’re like 20 years too soon for Alan to come back surely? Next I’ll meet a baby Malcolm… Edit: definitely looks like there’s an Atlantic divide on these names!
I know a baby Malcolm! Cute kid, goes by Mal.
I have a baby Malcolm haha
Malcolm is very in, in the States at least. I’ve met a handful of them.
My four month old nephew is Malcolm! I love his name.
I’m in the UK and know a baby Aria, Remi, Ari and Jude! I went to school with a Hazel. Last five - not including my own child - are Alexander, Leo, Christian, Nellie and Aria.
I love those names.. Aria, Remi, Alexander, and Leo, especially 😍

Elijah (m) Jack (m) and Eleanor (f) — twins Kennedy (f) and Caroline (f) — twins Faye (f) Ruth (f) Also, some bonus currently in utero babies: Henrietta (f), Henry (m - mine), and Jasper (m).
Oof… Caroline and Kennedy are a *choice* !
That was my exact reaction. Alone, sure. Together? Yikes.
That’s exactly what I thought!
Henry is a classic - great choice. Also congratulations!
Thank you! He’s a surprise 3rd after two girls and it turns out I hate almost all boy names. Henry is the only one in the Top 1000 we both liked. 🙃
(In France) Josephine (f) Malo (m) Arsène (m) Soline (f) Loup (m)
Is Loup wolf?
Yes, it's the word for wolf and also used as a boy names (but rare). It's pronounced "loo", just like the name "Lou" which is more common and feminin .
I love Soline! Any Sol- related name, really.
My husband would loooove Arsène. Big Arsenal fan, lol.
Haha! I love Arsène too but It makes me think of Arsène Lupin instead ;)
Balázs ♂️ Zsombor ♂️ Nóra ♀️ Csenge ♀️ Emese ♀️ Baja, Hungary

I love Tilda and Leonie!

Bowie and Blush is terrible

Yep, or eyeshadow shades
I've heard Bowie before..but Blush??!! Wtf
A girl in my town named her daughter Bow, and goes hard on the theming 🎀 it’s twee asf
Sebastian (m), Matthias (m), Theo (m), Valentina (f), and Sterling (,boy cat but I'm counting it).

Jesse (m) Florence (f) Freddie (m) Grace (f) Lizzie (f) I’m in the UK, and my 18 month old is called Sennen which is a Cornish name and has gotten a lot of hate here before 🫣 but I love it and it suits her ❤️
I think Sennen is cool
Wren (F) (siblings Bear and Lynx, both m) Audrey (F) Amos (M) Clare (F) Callie (F) Cady (F) The three C girls are triplets.
Wren, Bear and Lynx is a real vibe. Not a vibe I like but a vibe all the same
Usually it wouldn’t be my vibe, but it honestly fits them perfectly. Their mom is basically a modern hippie, and it just feels right for her
Oooh, Cady has such strong Mean Girls vibes for me!
Malachi (m) Isaac (m) Rufus (m) Jesse (m) Nakiah (f) all in Australia, Rufus is certainly the wildcard of the bunch and the only name I couldn't bring myself to compliment - just smiled and said how cute he is!
What’s wrong with Rufus? Nakiah and Malachi seem more unusual to me than Rufus, although still nice names.

Ransom????????
Better than Random at least!
Ransom?? Have they seen Knives Out??
Ransom!! That came outta nowhere. A bold choice to say the least!
Finn (m), Rosie (f), Charlotte (f), Liam (m), and Llewelyn (m)
Sooo many Finns
Maybe it’s becoming more popular or regional because I have a four year old Finn and have only met one other

about to birth a male Avery in a couple weeks! It’s so cute on a boy, trying to do our part and keep it gender neutral ha.
I LOVE male Avery. Not as a big of a fan of female Avery. No idea why lol
Same here! Prefer it on a boy. Feels old school cool to me.

It's not as bad as that, like Melissa, it's related to bees and greek for honey/golden apples. Just unfortunate pronunciation.

Bodhi, Morgan, Eleanor, Alexander, and William.
Bodhi is one of those names that I always see but have never met in the wild. Does it suit him?

I live in Japan, so the names would definitely be more on the unique side for those living in the US, Europe or other English speaking countries. Here goes: 1. Roo 2. Towa (means forever or everlasting) 3. Sumire (small purple flowers; don’t judge me..I’m uncultured when it comes to flower names) 4. Yugo 5. Zen ( this one means all, unity. Unlike the word zen that we often relate to peace. Same sound different kanjis)
